I've seen a trend where the media has been denied access beyond reason. The media has been fighting back in the Kristin Smart case. They recently had a bailiff illegally deny access to media in motion hearings.
I'm seeing it happen too. The Lori Vallow case is another one. There's a journalist who keeps using the laws to get access to that courtroom but keeps being denied, illegally. Something's up and I don't like it one bit.

Jake went to the grow where there was blood on the door to take the DVR, there was a camera on the building pointing down to CRsr home
I want to see at least one photo of a grow operation, just one. Never have seen one yet.

There was film from the days post the murders of them moving the crop out of the shed, but I wouldn't know how to find it now,

There are pictures of plants from KR. There was a small shed outside his camper. There were pics right after the crime of LE standing there by potted plants. They were extremely small/just planted. That time of the year is when you plant mj for it to grow. If CR had an indoor grow on the level it's been made out to be he could grow year around, plus produce much more high quality bud than growing outside.

Yes, that journalist in the Lori Vallow case is quite persistent. I say bravo to her.

Shame on the judge. I fear that silencing the media at jury trials might become a trend.

I wish I saw that! Don't know how I missed it. Darn.

Have all the "opt out" LE so far been current or former Pike County LE? I wonder if BCI will opt out when they are called to take the stand. There are some who had no qualms publicly testifying in pre-trial hearings. They weren't afraid of anything.

I forgot about the Vallow case. Boy the media showdown is getting hot on that one!

Wow, I just heard the judge speaking about the photographs this morning. He basically said no crime scene photos could be published. So where we stand now, each witness is opting out if being broadcasted, plus no crime scene photos. Our only updates will come from vague tweets from reporter inside the courtroom from here on out. Total bummer, I've waited 6 years for this trial. Our only way to actually being able to get information from this case will be to do a FOIA once the trial is commenced for the exhibits/testimony transcripts which they might hold onto until BW faces trial. It'll probably be 2024 before we are able to view all of this information. Total letdown. They should have not permitted filming period at this point.

Two days in. It's quite a "something" burger. We just can't see it all .. yet.

The slaughter of 8 innocent people at home, most in their beds is a big deal. JMO

Anyone guessing how long this trial will go on? There's a mountain of evidence and hundreds of witnesses left to go. Maybe one month is a conservative estimate.

I imagine we will get to see very few witnesses now they can just fill out that form stating they wish to not be recorded at all,
Agree. Even the sheriff is opting out of audio and video. Art these witnesses afraid? What is behind their reasoning I wonder?

Good questions.

I bet the old sheriff would have testified in public. JMO

At first I thought this was ok, but I'm beginning to wonder about all the local LE doing it. Hopefully BCI and the outside experts will testify in public. Otherwise, are we looking at a possible mistrial? Or is the judge trying to prevent a mistrial? IDK I wish @PrairieWind or someone would drop in.

Does anyone know if on the Court site you can download documents? I see the docket entries which often have info but no way to access actual filings online, is that correct?

Thx in advance
It's called an FOIA (Freedoms Of Information Act) request. But, we will most likely have to wait for the trial to commence before they will/can release it. Uniquely, since BW still has to stand trial they might not release it all until his case is over in order to not taint his jury pool. $20 says it'll be 2024 before we can file an FOIA.

I could be wrong, but I believe the judge set aside 8-9 weeks for the trial. I am wondering too about this combined effort among all LE to opt out of audio/video. I wonder if an "order" has been handed down to police in Pike County? Any ideas?

I do not see a mistrial due to judge's decision re audio and video. He has allowed press full access to courtroom. The press are able to report; judge can't prohibit that according to first amendment.
