IMO his defense will be that he was not inside at the time of the shootings. That JW is a liar . That GW4 had entered the trailer while he, CRsr and GR walked to the barn. And that GW4 began shooting GRsr and GR after JW shot CRsr from outside. Again this is just MO.
That's why the prosecution gathered all the past evidence about Billy's violent tendencies and lack of honesty. <modsnip: Referenced info does not appear to be contained in the "Other Acts" evidence.>

They could've been tested when booked into the jails. That info is probably private.
They were booked 2 years after the murders. If they had any in them then it does not prove they had it at the time of the murders.

So not JW at CRSR's as far as handguns as according to AC via Jw's proffer he went onto the back property while the two Gs moved the bodies to the bedroom. Two different caliber bullets killed CRSR and GR. CRSR took rifle and handgun shots. Did GR get hit by a rifle shot or just two different handguns?
GR shot with one handgun, the .40 cal Glock.

Obviously.

I still want to see their results.
I doubt there were tested when arrested. It was long long after the crime. Even if they were tested as part of a jail intake, it wouldn't be admissible here.

Only saw a little this afternoon, the bit I did see was the defense objecting over and over again, they sure are making a record for GW to use as a possible appellate issue,

and I caught tail end of AC discussing DR autopsy, and the woman is trying so hard to bolster JW proffer IMO, which isn't the way it should be, if what JW told her was the truth then it should match the evidence, if it doesn't then why give him a deal,

I didn't hear how many times DR was shot but there seemed to be one gunshot that wounded her but didn't kill her, and from opening statement I recall AC saying JW heard DR making noise and had to go back and shoot her some more, Dr Looman testified that there was only 1 of DR GSW that wasn't fatal, and I am wondering if JW says he only shot her once, before he went and shot HR then returned

But I thought for the most part there is no way to tell the order of the shots... except taking JW's version.

but what if his version isn't the truth, the state appears to be fully on board with JW proffer, and IMO as long as he sticks to the proffer he fulfills his side of the bargain, I expect much of his proffer will align with the evidence as JW would have had access to the evidence (as did AW) pre his proffer, but how much of the proffer will be JW fitting a story to match the evidence, that isn't the truth but a story he has concocted around the evidence the state collected

I doubt we will ever know,

JMO, it's splitting hairs. The initial shots were probably enough to kill Dana, but it didn't mean she died immediately. What Jake may have heard was agonal breathing or other noises people make when they are in the process of dying. Jake wouldn't be qualified to know if she was only wounded, he just shot again to make sure.

JMO, with all the driving around that night, scouting and breaking in, cleaning up crime scenes, looking for money, visiting crime scenes multiple times, the Wagners were running out of time. Victims friends and family would be getting up. People would be out driving on OH 32, Union Hill Rd and other roads early due to beginning of turkey season, early shift workers and commuters to Columbus, etc. It was getting close to daylight and they had a fairly long drive to get home. JMO, they were in a hurry, not taking chances.

The ME stated that the shot to DR’s jaw would not have killed her instantly.
IMO “if” JW was telling the truth, then the shot to her jaw and the shot that wounded her were the first two shots she received that night. Due to the fact that JW said DR was making noise and he returned to her room and fired more rounds. JMO

I think more like Betty mentioned in the process of dying noises... horrible either way. I don't think she moved enough to cause misses from short range with the first shots. It had to be at least two anyway at first looking at the other victims.

Yes, I hated typing that. Poor Dana, she was a good mother and grandmother, from all accounts. A good daughter, too.

In AC's opening statement, she said that Dana's last phone use was around 3:20 am, when she sent a series of texts to Chris Sr. Of course, Chris's last text (to help Billy W "find his phone) was around 10:55 pm, so he wasn't answering any texts by then. She must have been worried, had a bad feeling, poor soul. May they all rest in peace.

I personally can’t wait to find out what was on the video that DeWine stated investigators acquired in May of 2016 but needed more. DeWine stated that investigators reached out to people they thought might have videos from overnight and the early mornings of April 22 and 23rd .

HMR has her killer's initials tattooed on her, along with the ring they both have on their left 4th finger which I knew about before the unredacted autopsy's were released.

Ugh, so sad, :( so evil.

I meant April 21st and 22nd , 2016. Sorry

I missed the response. How did AC respond?

I remember the sad story of the Clutter family murders in Kansas. IIRC, Perry Smith stated that when he went to Nancy Clutter's room, he shined the flashlight on her, she looked at him, then turned her head away as he shot her. If accurate, if Hanna was briefly awake, she may have been turning towards her infant in a protective movement. Didn't have time to do much else. JMO
The defense asked about where the weapon would have been when she was shot and the medical examiner said behind or beside her. Then he asked if 2 of the shots going back to front would be consistent with her looking at the person who shot her and the medical examiner said inconsistent.

So AC re directs and she said, "you were just asked about the positioning of Hanna" she goes on to say a lot about her positioning and her shirt being up to nurse and if the shots would be consistent with someone turning to instinctively protect her or her baby and the Medical examiner said yes.

Then defense gets back up to ask one more question and it was about if the medical examiner knew the light conditions of the house. She said no.

Thanks. Mothers will understand this. I'm glad the defense asked this question. They probably didn't anticipate that answer.

Canepa says Angela told investigators George started having nightmares after the killings. She told Billy and he said, "I don't know why he's having nightmares. He didn't kill anybody." She felt the plan was a lot to put on the boys.

Still having nightmares George?
George wouldn't have nightmares if he weren't there and part of the conspiracy to murder, involved in trespass and aggravated burglary, and aiding others in the murders (that gives him the murder counts). Stick a fork in him.

I got the impression the defense was trying to poke holes in Jakes version of Hanna looking at him and he shot. That's the only reason I can think they would ask questions like that is to try to make his story look wrong. It did backfire this time.

Was JW considered a sharpshooter? Otherwise, how could one stand >3ft away to shoot and hit the target and NOT hit either of the babies accidently?
Just curious is all.
