Trash Pull and a few incriminating starements.

Canepa said there are wiretap recordings catching George speaking to Jake about them being in trouble, and that Jake should have smashed his laptop and thrown away his phone.

It won't be hard for the State to prove that George was going along with his family's Murder Conspiracy. They have 8,000 recordings of interest. Remember these few quotes from George?

Incriminating statements:

1.) If they have the gun they have the silencer. (After Scheiderer sent George Jake's phone photo of Jake holding his colt 22.)
2.) I told you to get rid of your phone. (After Scheiderer sent photo of Jake holding his colt 22.)
3.) We have a family emergency. (After Scheiderer sent photo of Jake holding his colt 22.)
4.) Don't come down here ( to Billy - we have company. (BCI was at Peterson Rd.)
5.) Jake's always getting us in trouble over some woman.
6.) I want to bash Scheiderer's face in.
7.) Make Reader pay make DeWine pay - violent tendencies Scheiderer said.
8.) We're being bugged don't say anything till we get home.
9.) I bought a night scope.
10.) I bought a Captain America mask.
11.) Making fun of Jake's religion many times = they don't celebrate Halloween so what was the mask for?
12.) Those not arrested will break the others out of jail.
13.) We will take revenge against anyone who goes against us.

Canepa said in her closing argument at the Bond Hearing that George's buying a night scope made it convenient to shoot people in bed in the middle of the night.

The final day of week 5 in the #PikeCountyMassacre trial of #GeorgeWagnerIV ends, with a three-day weekend ahead. Jurors heard more detail about Wagner possessions put in storage trucks/trailers when the family moved to Alaska in mid-2017. 1/7

Special Prosecutor Angela Canepa walked witness Julia Eveslage of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation through documents stored in tubs. A green notebook with the name of Wagner IV’s brother, Edward “Jake” Wagner, included sketches of weapons and room/lot layouts. 2/7

One document indicated that Jake Wagner would become guardian of then 2-year-old Sophia Wagner upon the death of her mother, Hanna May Rhoden. Rhoden was among the eight Rhodens shot to death in April 2016. 3/7

Another document established that Jake Wagner was not the father of Rhoden’s subsequent child, Kylie Rhoden. 4/7

One bin included printouts of Facebook messages of Wagner IV’s former wife, Tabitha Claytor, and of her mother, Patricia Ruggles. One showed a monthly list of Wagner household expenses with several entries for passports. 5/7

Prosecutors also confirmed a Walmart receipt from 4.7.16 proved that Angela Wagner bought two pairs of Walmart Athletic Works men’s shoes that day. Store video showed Wagner IV's mother exiting the store & parking lot. The shoes in question left prints in 2 of 4 crime scenes. 6/7

Court is recessed until Tuesday for the three-day Columbus Day holiday. Visit http://cincinnati.com for a Tuesday morning update.

Glad to help. I have no doubt that BCI found some interesting things in that trash pull since Angela saved eveything. They found interesting items checking the house trash.

Yesterday, somewhere, I read that BCI found 3 masks during Wagner searches, and had a pretty scary looking one up on the monitor.

Anyone find a photo of it please post.

It would cover their hair so no reason for them to dye their hair. I get the feeling it was Angie's idea for them to dye their hair because she was so bossy and had some really stupid ideas and she got them to go along with her.

Trash pull from Days Inn
The trash pull is interesting as there is a Days Inn in Jackson OH, about 30 east of Pike Co. What interests me is that no one really knows where the W4 were from May 10 (move out of Peterson) to when they arrived in AK mid June 2017.

AW claimed they were in AK at the time of the May10-12 raids on FWF, 41 etc. That just doesn't make sense to me. They would leave for AK May 10, arrive in AK then turn around and come back to OH to get their trailers and trucks and drive back to AK by Mid June. Two trips to AK within a month? Trash pull at the Jackson Days Inn was on June 8, 2017.

IMO, the W4 were hiding in the Piketon area during the raids, maybe at the Jackson OH Days Inn...

Subpoena and Motion for testimony from Alaska

CHRIS GRAVES

A couple new filings from #pikeCounty today related to defense witnesses. A subpoena and a request to allow a witness to testify remotely from Alaska.
Barbara Moore is an attorney in West Union, OH, George's divorce attorney IIRC.

Guessing the defense wants the Wagner's pastor to testify. JMO

I think your right, that the Wagner's were hiding at the Jackson OH Days Inn at that time. The first search was secret but it was made clear that the Wagner's were given a search Warrant for that 2nd search which means to me they were in Ohio.

Maybe the Wagners drove to Missouri to look into getting the fraudulent loan house In May, but there is no way they drive to AK in May then come back, then go in June. We only hear of them being stopped on the border one time for hours.

Angie is a liar so I believe she lied about leaving Peterson Rd, then going to Ak, then coming back from Ak, then turning around and going to AK a second time, permanently by June.

Hiding out in motels sounds about right to me. Just how it seems to me anyway.

Angela Wagner said the family was provided copies of the search warrants, along with a list of items seized. But she said there was nothing on the warrant to indicate why authorities wanted to search a 71-acre farm in Peebles they had recently sold. (And search Fred's property using a SWAT team and search the car lot with their trailers.)

Why were properties searched in mass-killing probe? Owners say they don't know

"Just the addresses" were listed on the warrants, she said.

Wagner declined to provide copies of those warrants or the inventories of items officers took to The Enquirer for verification..
The Wagners said officials left their property, which had been methodically packed and covered by tarps, exposed to the elements while they took a family vacation to Alaska. They said many items were either destroyed or remain missing.

The last few comments have been awesome. You are right it will be the totality of individual pieces (the puzzle) thatll ultimately seal 4s fate. Although this family doesnt appear to be rocket scientists, i feel they did a decent job of not leaving behind DNA and fingerprints. Of course, only the scene at ChrisSr presented an opportunity, since the others apparently didnt get out of bed.

The defenwe is doing all they can to muddy the water. I cant help but believe them picking on the women havent caught the jury's attention.

I often wondered if they were doing tis sort of cross on women to prevent others from opting in on video. I dont know.

I just wanted to say my comments on here are general in nature as we discuss the proceedings. At no time would I bash or demean another's therory. I dont quote often. I try to make open comments. So if in my postings ive offended anyone, please know it was done inadvertently without malice. I value all inputs made. It helps keep me focused and grounded. Especially when i get tunnel vision. Thsnks!!!

Thanks! Very good monitor photos. Angie in Wamart very clear.

That is a scary looking ski mask. I was sure they burned all their ski masks. Maybe they didn't use this mask that night so they didn't get rid of it? Makes no sense though because Scheiderer was very clear that ski masks were among their purchases.

10 Freeze plugs purchased at a local auto parts store paid for in cash, generic
maglite flashlights, nuts, 1 quantity thread adapters/protectors for Colt Numarex 1911, 2 bait nets to make brass catchers, bug detectors for counter surveillance, night scope, masks.

BBM - So if they have recipts of purchases or evidence they purchased masks, but those masks were not found with their items, then maybe it further proves what Jake will testify to. Who buys masks and then doesn't own them a year later? It might also be telling if they were purchased the month of the murders. I know it's not warm in Ohio in April, but turkey hunting is the only season that was open and IIRC it was about 17th or 18th that it was open and prior to that no hunting really and if they were hauling stuff in trucks, might not really need a mask for work in April. Seems those would be more so needed in say Dec-Feb maybe March. The reason my husband would wear one of those is to clear snow from the driveway when it's really cold or if he were hunting and that would be if it was say 30s and lower. Those get very hot really fast when out walking through the woods and not out in an exposed/windy type situation. So anyway just my random thinking on the masks. If he says they burned them and there was proof of recent purchase, but those masks were never found, then maybe that is a way to sorta corroborate his story.

Indeed.

Right out of the Barry Morphew Big Book of Interiors.

I'm following this one only intermittently, but this really does seem like a Wagner 4 trial with only one Wagner in the dock. I think it's necessary, and almost certainly something that the affected families and communities have long waited for and need very badly, but it does make for a harder and sometimes more technical slog.

But the pace and levels of detail also give the impression of a very big, very strong net tightening inexorably round the birthday boy and his skewed family. You can almost glimpse that infamous kitchen table caught in the middle. And that should be some solace.
I'm glad someone mentioned the kitchen table! How did AW, JW, GW, possibly BW at times, Hanna, Tabitha and the two little ones all sit around that table?! I guess it's possible they had a bigger table at one time as I did see one in pictures sitting outside a bar/shed somewhere on the property. JMO

Those returns were in an envelope addressed to George from an accounting firm and clearly labeled tax returns with the year the returns were for (Parker had her read that out loud, 2014, 2015, 2016 ect from each envelope). Then he told her to read the warning on the cover which she did, but not out loud. She just had a funny look on her face and AC's hands were shaking when she started labeling the other documents.

How many everyday citizens knows about this law? Not me and I used to work as a contractor within the IRS for a few years. WOW, sure glad I’m not a nosey person.

Right. Jake could say those masks were bought years ago, or confirm one or more was a 2016 murder kit purchase. There will be a ton of things Jake will need to clear up.

I suspect he will opt out of being videoed and recorded but his testimony is so crucial that there should be many tweets and articles following what he says.

Everyone will want to know if the prosecution is satisfied enough with his testimony to keep the DP off the table for all 4 Wagners.

It's my opinion that Jake will want to keep the DP off the table and will follow the testimony that the prosecution has gone over and over with him. If the defense gets Jake confused or saying something he didn't mean to say etc, the prosecution can rehabilitate his answers on their re-cross of him.

They planned these murders for months but he didnt have the guts to inform LE. He didnt save his family from themselves. I couldnt live with myself knowing what he knew and did nothing to stop it. He may or may not have voted no but a saint he is not, IMO.
I don't think GW4 cared at all about the Rhoden family and Hannah Gilley. The loss of their lives meant nothing to him. If he had mustered the courage to talk his family out of the murder spree, it would have been to save his own family, not to prevent the deaths of others.

Wagners were raised to believe they were better than everyone else, big narcissists, elitists. They did as they pleased without consequences and considered it a weakness to feel compassion.

Someone was messing around KRs ex-wife’s mailbox late one night summer after the murders, trying to intimidate her and Kendra Rhoden, (I wonder who that was) give you Sleuthers one guess! JMO that when the ski mask where worn, if new ones where bought.

In one of the Podcasts episodes they had Angela's half brother on and he said he and George and Jake grew up like brothers more than uncle/nephews because he was just a year or so older I believe. Angela was 20 when he was born. He said he was often over there playing with the boys and George was always nice. He was more buddies with him and Angela always treated him a little different (her brother). It was an interesting interview. It really is sad that Jake and George didn't really have a chance. IF they could have gotten out of that house at 18 and made their own life, maybe. But we can't really discount what it is like to grow up with controlling and manipulative parents. You learn to behave a certain way to avoid confrontation and to appease them, then you question if you are normal or crazy, if they are crazy and what is really reality and acceptable. I do think at some point you realize your family is different from the normal. I am willing to bet when these girls came into their home and both had been abused in their past that was somehow used to show the boys that the way the Wagner's lived with the control and rules was better than others because look at the abuse and drugs and how bad all that was.. these girls needed this family and were better off with us (how they thought not how I think). It just further cements that thinking that all for one and protect the family because the outsiders are the problem. So sad.

I'm listening again to the Piketon Massacre Podcast episodes from after Jake and Angela took a deal. On the episode Wagner v Wagner, they have played recording from the bond hearing I believe it was that George's lawyers requested after Jake took the plea. I believe it was Agent Scheiderer being questioned and he said they had 100 days of recordings of George. Total 8,000 recordings of the family. So that must be the truck they bugged. 100 days. I bet a lot was said. He did say, well George didn't confess but he made statements. They never said what those statements were, but I can't wait to hear that. It must be coming up soon!

When asked from the discovery list was there anything that caught his eye, the guy said yes one thing. There was a trash pull June 5, 2017. I wonder if that was in Alaska once they arrived there? Maybe seeing what they threw out? In the podcast the person being interviewed said trash pulls are often for some type of DNA, but we know they don't have DNA so would they be looking for something in their trash?

Fair warning on that podcast: A large portion of it is garbage, but you can probably trust the recording they played of Agent Scheiderer's testimony and, of course, an interview with a family member. I'm sure Angela's brother was slightly biased about his cousins, though. They obviously weren't nice guys.

There was a trash pull at a Days Inn Motel on June 18. We looked around and assumed it was the Days Inn in Jackson, OH. That was the location closest to Pike County. It's possible it was a different Days Inn, if they were on their way to AK. ETA: It was the Days Inn in Jackson, OH. It was assumed then the 4 Wagners were staying there as they prepared to leave for AK, after selling their house and moving out.

I've met a lot of people in my life and counseled quite a few who came from bad backgrounds, but I've never met anyone, at an adult age, who could sit around and help his family plan and carry out the murders of 8 innocent people, many personal friends.

To be able to follow his family's plan without protest or walking away, he would have to be so psychologically damaged by his family that he would already be committing violent crimes, not able to hold down a job or conduct himself normally in social situations. To be that damaged, George would have been showing signs and problem behavior for quite a while. JMO
