I think it is so unfair to the defense that the jury do not get to hear JW interview, IMO it isn't justice if the state cannot win its case by concealing things from the jury, AC and her team have hung everything on JW who even though he has admitted to killing 5 people is now a paragon of virtue in their eyes, and according to AC remorseful for what he did,

the jury should get to hear the full story, and that includes JW denials and lies in this interview, but the state cannot do that, as once the jury get to hear JW interview, they may not believe a word he says when it comes time for him to testify,

IMO this is so wrong, but if the state feels it can only win its case by keeping information from the jury, then I have no respect at all for them,
The trial isn't over yet.

I wonder if they are going to play Billy's? "Lemme till yew sumthin'"...

I hope not, my ears may bleed listening to him again. :D

I noticed yesterday he even YELLS IN HIS TEXTS!
I think they played Angela's because her responses lead them to believe she was hiding information. I bet they picked hers because she lied about the shoes, she lied about the custody stuff. This let them know they were on the right track and to continue exploring the Rhodens. Similar to how Bill's interview earlier was played because he was lying in that interview and trying to throw investigators off.

I totally agree. I'm just saying how things are being delivered into evidence, if I were a juror my mind at first was filing what the prosecution was giving and now it's busy searching where to file what I'm hearing. The rhythm has been side tracked. I get the prosecution is trying to show how the investigators came to their conclusions as it happened. I think striving to continue that so closely is starting to jumble things.

I've never watched a murder trial where it was of so much importance that the prosecutors explain hiw the investigators were processing their investigation. Just showing what investigators found was enough to present it as evidence.

I hope I'm explaining well enough what I'm sensing, it's becoming more about the investigators thought processes than about the evidence. I don't ever recall a case being presented like that.

They are not keeping info from the jury... just waiting for it's due time.
Exactly. And the Defense gets to present their case when it is their turn. No one is being denied or treated unfairly. Imo.

AW sure was a motor mouth.

Me too and it's muffled to my ear, not clear when they're talking in normal voice, only when they raise their voices. The difference could be the type of tvs we all have.

I've been using laptop. It eventually lost connection so I've swapped to WCPO9.
Battery died in my mouse!!! What a day for things to go wrong eh.

Was George interviewed at the border? Will we hear that interview? After nearly six long weeks of trial, isn't it time to finish laying foundation?

And what is the number one rule when dealing with LE, never speak to them beyond the 4 most important words you will ever say "I want an attorney" or in my case "I want a solicitor".

All in due time.

The defense is not allowed to dictate how the state prosecutes its case against George. Their constant interruptions and accusations are actually slowing down the state's presentation. If you follow trials, you understand this is how many defense teams often operate when they don't have much to work with.

sunshine... I believe it is to show absolutely no targeting of the Wagners. Everything LE did had a reason and they dug their own grave regarding their guilt.

  • #871
It's a good thing they are allowed to take notes. Sometimes that isn't allowed.

Yes, he was. Not sure, hopefully they will play his interview.

Every trial I have watched where the investigators were not detailed and meticulous, the defense jumped right on that making them look lazy and inept.. If the investigators were not detailed and meticulous, the jury would think they were lazy and inept. Imo.

The defense can cross examine him when he's on the stand and ask him if he lied in his interview at the border, if he lied all along, I mean we know he lied because he pled not guilty before pleading guilty. The jury will be very clear on how Jake lied and the defense will throw everything at him no doubt about it, but they can't present evidence to discredit a witness before they even take the stand. The prosecution is laying out the case of how they investigated these crimes. Angela lying about buying the shoes and throwing them away was a big piece of this. George lied in his interview as well. They didn't play that either. This recording was not played simply to show they lied, it was played to show why/how BCI investigated things and by Angela lying about the shoes it was another good piece that let them know they were on the right track. It wasn't showed to put blame directly on George or to make Angela look good. She will take the stand as well after having lied and this interview wasn't hidden, it was played.

I wonder whether GW is wincing with each sentence AW blurts out. Gosh, she and BW are absolutely horrible with the interviews.
Can any of you see his facial reactions?

he was but maybe they won't play his, same as JW it really does nothing for the reputation of the state if they are not allowing the jury to hear JW interview, I am utterly astonished at how much cool aid they have all drunk from the well of JW, he is a man who has admitted to killing 5 people, people he knew very well, people who were family at one time, the mother of his child, her entire nuclear family, and yet at every point they try to make JW out to be the font of truth,

only yesterday when they were arguing outside the presence of the jury AC again said yes JW lied but is now telling the truth (not verbatim) I personally think JW told the most lies to LE, we just won't get to hear them coming out of his mouth

AW sure was a motor mouth.
Her and Billy both! Not what I imagined from either of them. I imagined her being nosey but sneaky and Billy a man of few words.

It seems to everything JW said is coming to view as close to the truth. Except, IMO about GW not being able to fire the rifle. That one will not float. All the rest is mostly backed up by the evidence presented.

They ALL lied. Most killers do when confronted with the evidence. At first anyway. Still the jury has to decide what is a lie and what isn't.

They are not playing JW's tape because it is not needed. If the defense wishes... let them present it when it is their turn.

In the opening statement AC mentioned several times that things won't make sense as it's presented, but at the end it will tie all up and make sense. She apologized for how it was going to be presented, but she did say it will be done in chronological order and some things won't make sense until a later time. I think her telling the jury this several times was trying to prepare them so during the course of hearing testimony if they started thinking huh and how does this fit, they will just remember that she said it might not make sense until another time when the evidence presented can be explained by someone else.
Yes.. and agree she did try to give them a heads up

Respectfully BBM

Very true. JMO, this is a key part of the defense team's strategy to discredit Jake's confession before he takes the stand. For the last several months we've often heard on social media (with no proof) that Jake is lying in his proffer.

Jake lied about X in his proffer
Jake lied about Y in his proffer
Jake lied about Z in his proffer
The state won't allow the proffer to be made public because they're lying about what Jake said
Etc, etc, etc.

A constant mantra from those who have no idea what Jake said in his proffer.

JMO
