Jmo I just started listening to E testimony and maybe just how people talk that are not from area, but she spoke in an odd way. Answer like I feel like Rita was there or at the place they were staying. Seems like odd answers. And constantly if I am remembering right. I don’t know it seems like she is seeing in her mind as if she was reading a book or play. It’s really weird. Jmo and like I had the feeling Billy was nearby. Who words things that way. Jmo

I wonder who was at the head of the table, when murdering eight people was suggested, and voted on. EA would have been there for 14 weeks. I would like to know the rotation (IF in fact there is one, prior to EA coming into the the family. JW could have been B.Sing her though.).
I don't think EW was there until late 2017/2018.

The 'table conversation' about murdering the R/G family must have occurred in late 2015/early 2016.

I also wonder who was at the head of the kitchen table for that conversation about murdering the Rhoden family.

I don't think her testimony was either odd or weird. She was just recounting the truth from her honest experience with the Wagner family. I think it is even more ironic she was raised in a strict Amish Community and yet still had the intelligence to question and realize that was not a healthy way to be raised. She admitted she only had received an eight grade education in the Amish Community. She then realized how askew the insulated Wagner family was as well. She sadly went from one insulated community to another.

IMO, she was trying to better herself. I admire her perseverance and bravery.

Well said! EA also has her own cadence to the way she speaks. She's also one of those people who like to consider a question those few extra seconds before answering. I'm married to one so that's not unusual to me but it can stand out as a bit off to people accustomed to quicker processed speech. Being her younger years to teenage ones were in an Amish Mennonite group, a PA Dutch accent may also play into how her speech patterns developed. I think EA did an excellent job on the stand talking about a very stressful time in her life.

She said she had some brain damage in 2020 from some type illness that affected her frontal lobe. I would say she had to learn to speak again since it affected her memory. She may not yet be able to pronounce some words correctly. But I know she will get there. I think she is a beautiful, brave young lady who has overcome a lot of odds. I see her doing very well in college and whatever career she choses. She certainly has the determination for it. I admire her as an example to all women who go through the mental abuse of a toxic marriage and come out stronger for it. For that matter she is a marvelous example to all women that they can be anyone they want to be through hard work and intelligence.

What a contrast to Angie who never tried to better herself with a higher education and a successful career. If Angie had even a fraction of Beth's intelligence and determination to succeed in life she would not have to mooch off her sons, cling to her GK's as her whole live and the 8 people she killed may still be alive. So sad she felt she could not accomplish what many women do every day.

I connected very well with Beth since I also was a bookworm. lol. I lived in the library in school and college.

I wish Beth Ann all the success, love and joy life has to offer. The world needs more women like her.

You deserve a raise. Or a big vacation. You go far beyond to keep us updated on court dates and tweets. You are a star. But seriously..... Don't burn your dinner or stay up too late for us chickens here. We can manage when you are too busy or tired. Thank you! Sleep well

Thank you for those compliments! You have me blushing... but I will take that BIG vacation!! LOL! :D and a nice raise would be good!

If I take time off from here - I would be SO way behind on all the cases I follow! That is why I took my laptop with me when I visited my sister in Sweden this past August/September! :)

In cross exam in the #PikeCountyMassacre trial of #GeorgeWagnerIV this afternoon, former Wagner IV sister-in-law Elizabeth Armer said she had little contact w/Wagner IV himself. She met him just twice in Alaska, then for a few days in Missouri, then lived w/them in Ohio. 1/8

Once back in southern Ohio with the Wagners, Armer was offended by what she considered sexist jokes that Wagner IV told. Did she call him a blowhard when interviewed by investigators?, Wagner IV attorney John Parker asked. "That sounds reasonable," she replied. 2/8

Parker asked Armer why she was unwilling to talk with him and Wagner IV's other defense attorney before the trial. "Because the Wagners terrify me," she said. "Do you like to discuss things with people who terrify you?" 3/8

None of the Wagners admitted any guilt related to the Rhoden killings to Armer, she said. Parker read the family roster: Did Jake Wagner?, he asked. "He did not." Nor Angela? "Correct." Nor George? "Correct." Nor Billy? "Correct." 4/8

Were you duped by Jake Wagner after you met him in Alaska?, Parker continued. "That is fair to say," Armer replied. 5/8

Ryan Scheiderer ended Friday by taking the jury through Armer's escape from the Wagners. The lead agent on the case for the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation said agents knew the Wagners were delivering Armer to a nearby Walmart because they'd tapped the Wagners' phones. 6/8

Agents lost Armer inside the store, but then saw her inside a car near a different exit. Scheiderer followed the car, with another agent soon intercepting it at a rest stop. That agent confirmed it was Armer, then ceased surveillance. 7/8

She said the damage was covid related on the stand today when the defense attorney brought up her "brain trauma" and she corrected him. She said it had affected her ability to remember names, that type of thing. He asked if she was on medication to which she responded, (paraphrasing) no, I was never on medication for the damage, it got better, it healed.

I agree, she seems like a lovely young woman. I also wish her much peace and happiness...after this W saga is concluded. I appreciated her strong show of character in testify on camera too.

No. All she said was it was non-traumatic brain damage.

Stroke was my first thought because my sister just had a major one. But I looked it up: A non-traumatic brain injury occurs because of disease, the presence of toxins, or a lack of oxygen to the brain. Some of the specific ways in which someone can end up with brain damage include:
  • Infectious disease
  • Cancer
  • Tumor
  • Stroke
  • Near drowning
  • Poisoning
Also, drug overdose, anyersums, cardiac arrests, suicide attempts by hanging, erotic asphyxiation, etc. ... there are lots and lots of options. It's amazing how the brain can reorganize its neural networks through neuroplasticity and some people can get better

Here is my question.

Every single shot from that SKS went wild. Hit the porch rail, the packages of flooring on the porch, the door jam, the stereo, the wall adjoining a bedroom and by accident hit Chris in the arm.

If George was such a skilled hunter (CN) and he owned the SKS (Jakes list) how come he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with his own gun?

The answer? Because he was not the one shooting that SKS. Neither was Jake. Both were skilled with guns. So why did the shots go wild? Because someone much weaker was firing that SKS .30 cal gun. Someone not strong enough to handle the recoil on it. Every time it was shot the recoil caused the barrel to go up or sideways thus causing the shots to go wild and hit all over the place.

Angie was firing that gun. The recoil was causing the shots to go every where. Who was at the scenes? Jake and Angie and maybe Billy.

JMO
Didn't the SKS nearly blow CR1's arm off?

She may have had some advice from an attorney about how to answer questions. If she’s expected to give answers about things she’s not completely sure of, she needs to say so. If she saw Rita around next door a lot, it may not mean she’s living there full time. If she remembers arriving to Ohio around the beginning of a particular month, but not the exact date, she has to say that. If not, the defense attorneys can dismiss her testimony by implying she’s lying or making things up.

IMO, it is very creepy how the defense keeps after her address. Why are they so desperate to locate her physically?
It's super normal. You want to talk to neighbors, friends and check local law enforcement records of witnesses you are trying to impeach

Don't forget George and Tabitha. Very predatory. Authoritarian. Violent and physically abusive.

Same song, third verse. Now George is trying to push her out. She was no longer useful to them, they couldn't use her SSN to commit fraud.
Very good point, Betty. Tabitha had a mental illness, Hannah R was a child and Elizabeth was naive. They picked their victims well

I did not hear her say it was COVID related. I thought she said the beginning of the pandemic was why her doctors recommended she recover at home instead of the hospital

Yes, I think that was it. COVID affected her treatment plan. She was treated as an outpatient.

ETA: I don't have time to look up the exact timestamp in yesterday's video, but it was towards the end, during cross.

EA testified FW was present during a discussion about a photo of Jake holding a gun.

SNIP-
At one point, Armer said she found herself in the kitchen of the Flying W Farm with George, Jake, Angela and Fredericka — Billy's mother. They showed her a photo of a person holding a gun and asked her what she saw; she replied the hand looked like Jake's and was quickly reprimanded and made to loudly proclaim she didn't know anything about the photo, in case BCI was listening.

This is evidence of Fredricka's knowledge of the crime after the fact but before the arrests. She needs to be charged!

It was sad, JMO, how the Wagner family treated the young women/girls like "brood mares". The same way they bred horses, potbelly pigs, and various boutique farm animals, they chose these women to mate with the sons in order to have children. Once the children were born, they really had no further use for the young mothers. They had to be trained to perform work, keep the men happy or leave. Any young woman who tried to stand up for herself or show any autonomy was treated as if they needed to be removed from the herd.

George and Jake spoke of wanting partners who were "farm women". They treated their family members as if they were livestock. Hanna Rhoden was a spirited young filly who was independent and not tolerant of control or abuse. That made her a target.

It's probably important to point out that the Wagners behavior and attitudes towards women and family roles isn't typical of families in that area. There are others posting here who can speak to family customs in rural Appalachia better than I, so hopefully some can enlighten us.

EW is recovering from a brain injury.

She was appropriately careful in answering questions, adjusting the language of questions asked by both prosecutor and defense when she needed to. I think the defense became wary of doing their aggressive questioning because she set the tone and pace.
