Thank you! @Dudly sent me a link too. My problem is finding the exact truck and bed and I want the Z71 listed. My dog ate my glasses...Seriously. $400 down the drain. My fault. They slipped off my shirt pocket. So enlarging and squinting is the mode of the past two weeks.

I know it would fit him and even JW, both, though, the way it is, plain. I'd love to see pics of the design they made. It would have to be easy, and quick, to get in and out of (could that be why they took CR1's pickup? After they left FR's the first time?). It was not as easy and quick as they thought.

JW said one of them rolled to CR1's truck, I think it was G4, and took aim there. JW was out of the hidden bed too. Did they ever even use it to shoot from? Was it just a hide, in the end? Another snafu in their design?

I don't know, just picked a random tall number. My son might be 6' 3".
I think he's 6' or 6'1. He was a big boy but I've seen bigger in smaller vehicles. Also, we're old, s/o and I, and we could get in and out of that. Like OP pointed out, they were young.

My oldest grandson is 6' 4" and about 320, he could probably get in there. My second grandson is 6' and weighs about 240 and I think the both of them could get in there together. They are 22 and 21 so about the same age as the W boys at the time.

I've seen him slide under a car, and I'm saying, ... hey you want me to jack that up for you? No problem he says.

I would guess that's more of a 'cover your butt' report.

That way an inmate can't claim they aren't being fed.

Seems odd to me that he would have to be alone to eat, but I suppose that could prevent the attorney getting stabbed with a spoon.

71.5/8" or 5 ft 9" ish

My understanding (which is a 50/50 shot so allhell will probably rain down on me) is they ended up only using it to hide under. Billy backed in near whatever that was in the yard (the trajectory was traced to) & Billy had to come out & drop the tailgate. I've got to walk the dog first but I'll try to find where I got that. It believe it might have been AC's OS vs Jake's actual testimony.

Jmo the hay and false bottom was to hide from crs. They didn’t know if he would be driveway that night or not. I don’t think it was to hide false bottom at home.

Jmo I never seen where it was reported Billy backed into yard. Can you share where that is told? I would think that would raise crs curiosity as to why. But with truck in drive way there is no shot to line up to door either.

Size of that truck bed doesn't really matter. A 6'4" man doesn't need 6'4" of space to crawl into. Humans are quite flexible, it's not like shoving a 6' 4" 280# slab of rock in there.

It's just another weak defense ploy.
If he doesn't fit...

I don't think they planned to shoot from the back of the truck. This was from AC's opening statement:

They didn't want to leave any shoe prints of those brand new Walmart shoes anywhere on their property until they were ready to get into the truck. And they got into the bed of the truck and Billy drove the truck up to see his friend and they remained in the back of that bed of the truck until such time as Billy came out and lowered the gate for them, at which point they slithered.

Slithered, I think, was the word he used out of the truck and got underneath that truck and George got under that truck and enjoyed that under Chris Seniors truck, which is they parked their vehicle right by one of Chris Senior's trucks. And George had the SKS at that time. Again, that was his gun. Jake didn't really even like the gun in George.

Looking at that photo of Chris Sr place there is a mower attachment there and then a grey pickup truck I recall Jake saying something about being behind the rear wheel of that truck. I see a grey truck in the photo of Chris Sr house. If Billy pulled up near that then when he came out it would be very dark, he could have dropped the tailgate and it would be easy for them to get out (if the bed was facing away from the house) and "slither" down and hide there somewhere.

Snipped for brevity.

Truck was built last week, during the trial, after Jake gave his testimony. New evidence and no time to give copies to defense in advance.
I guess if the defense can't prove he wasn't there (with an alibi), they have to try to prove he wasn't there (by trying to say he couldn't fit in that false bed). I can see why the state now wants to build the false bed to show George would have fit even in a heavier weight. I think all those questions to various witnesses about asking if George looks the same trying to show he was heavier in April of 2016 so just maybe he didn't fit.

I am curious if it was just going to be Billy and Jake, would they have even needed a false bed because Jake is small and could just lay in the back or in the cab of the truck and hide. Why the need for an elaborate false bed if it was just him? I'd say adding a third much larger man would definitely need more to conceal them than just having Jake go would.

I think you are right. In part of JW's testimony he said they parked near CR1's silver pickup and JW said he "slithered out" and G4 rolled over and hid behind CR1's wheel well, IIRC.

I did not find it in OS. I'm still sifting through tweets. Imagine my frustration when I saw this one :)

Then, there was an awkward moment. Special Prosecutor ACanepa handed him a metal pointer to show jurors on a photo where their truck was parked on the Rhoden property. His hands are cuffed to his waste. So, that was hard for him to do. Plus, he tried to hold the microphone, too.

Arrrg! WHERE DID THEY PARK?

@RAISINISBACK flew up for the trial. Said she was attending. Wonder if she's writing a book for us?

Hadn't heard from her, I was hoping she's ok. That's amazing news. When did she get there?

I think they took Chris's pickup because if anyone saw it and recognized it, it would seem normal for Chris to be driving in the area. Same thing if picked up on video. Chris's truck doesn't tie into the Wagners, which is why they bought a truck just to use that night, then immediately got rid of it.

Jmo but I don’t think Jake could just hide in backseat of truck. If crs had been outside and Billy pulls in a truck cr had not seen before crs could have like a lot of country men walk up to a different truck if just to say what the heck you driving now.

I swear he said they parked next to CR1's silver pickup but there's more than one. One is closer to that piece of machinery in the yard, closest to the yellow tape. Maybe he said, pulled in behind CR1's truck? They had to be close to watch them walk to the grow and back.

That sounds plausible. IIRC JW said he didn't remember why. I believe he did. He can remember lots of other details. Like, measurements, tools, and supplies needed to fix a hide box in a Z71 truck bed. Wonder how long that got him out of lockup?

This is impossible. We don't even know if they parked CR's truck back in the same place it was originally.

I'm still looking though. Need to start dinner first.

G4 is 6'4" ?

He is 6 feet tall according to one of his jail mugshot photos where he is standing against the measurements on the wall behind him.
