AC is making him answer a lot of questions about his remark that he would not cave to police the way his parents have when they got in trouble in the past. He says he meant something else. Ok.

If I sat in jail for years awaiting trial I would have gone through 'that day' a million times over. My memory would be sharp and it would be clear because I wouldn't be able to think about anything else.

  • No.
  • I’m not saying I didn’t say that, I just don’t remember saying that.
  • I don’t remember.

No way! You can't be done? IMO

George is keeping his cool. I thought Canapa would have been tough on him.

Said he didn't see his dad leave or come back in the morning (that's when Billy went and dropped off the truck early in the morning to his niece Katy in Athens County) says he didn't know he left that morning.

Canepa done with cross examination. Back to redirect.

Parker - did you have anything to do with this? No under god? No. Are you telling the truth? Yes. Canepa on re-cross: What happens to you if come in admit slaughtering eight innocent people? G: What happens to anybody is that they should have death given to them.

That's it for George's testimony. We're now waiting to find out what's next as prosecution has yet to officially rest its case because of all the evidence needing to be introduced.

Edited to include a few more of James' tweets.

Well, look at the case itself. Eight dead in four locations. The largest investigation in Ohio history…

I should have worded that better .. I know it's a massive case and it's bound to be different than any other I have watched. The part that seems jacked up to me is the way the defense is presenting the majority of their case before the state rests its case. And the way they are taking so long to enter evidence that has already been shown in court during the states case. None of that makes any sense to me and yes, I think it's jacked up.

No, she's still countering with him.

He agrees when Jake does wrong things, he tells the truth. When GW4 does wrong things, he hides it.
Defense not calling any other witnesses.

So, GW4 is answering my q about "I ain't caving and I ain't crumbling". He says he doesn't believe you should confess to something you didn't do. Canepa points out that his parents actually caved to things they did.

George Wagner IV's testimony just concluded with Canepa asking on recross: the difference between you and your brother is he admits when he's done wrong. GW4 says "when we were kids." No further questions

Recalls things beneficial to him but can't remember a darn thing that's negative.

Selective memory and liar!!

Yes, he did a little twist on that to make it seem innocuous. He knew what he was saying at the time, that he wasn't going to cave or make a deal because if you stand up to the state and lie a lot, you can get away with your crimes.

I'm disappointed.

So many things left out, so many questions not asked, so many lies unchallenged, so many opportunities to push George off his feet, all just slipped away.

Where art thou, Clark?

I think the state needs to call Silas Wagner and Bobby Wagner. They should play the border interview to highlight every lie he told.

I still think they should have pushed him harder when they were talking about molesting kids. He was pretty riled up and then went on for a bit. You can tell it gets under his skin and I don't believe for a minute he didn't know his family suspected Hannah of being too relaxed about this molestation stuff. He went on about how she thought it was okay and we got to see a glimpse of his true self in that moment. Yet at the beginning he stated he never knew there was any issues with the Rhodens or that his family thought anything was happening to Sophia.

He didn't answer her question about what if he came in there and lied. He completely avoided it and answered some other question she didn't ask.

Yes, I think the jury is seeing through his act. It's very obvious, his selective memory and twisting of his own words when he's confronted with them.

How many people are going to say differently? .... AW and JW?....possibly BW (which is unknown at this time until his trial starts). IMO, it seems obvious that AW and JW are a team (for lack of a better term), and I posted after AW's testimony about how I felt AW and JW's testimonies were almost identical in regards to so many different things, sometimes so much so, that things they testified to were almost word for word, which IMO did not sit right with me, especially when we are to believe they did not allegedly know what was in each of their proffers. JMO, but I feel if JW had a choice to to try and throw his mom under the bus vs throwing GW under the bus, it would be GW and JW's way of doing this was to say GW didn't SHOOT anyone.

And just for clarification, I am in no way saying at this time that I believe GW is innocent. More so what I'm trying to say is that for the 1st time throughout this trial, I am having some doubts and am questioning my opinions/thoughts regarding whether GW was at the murder scenes or not. And again, I am very curious as to how GW is going to do with cross examine in regards to his answers, demeanor, facial expressions, etc. But as this current time as of this post (while defense is still questioning GW), I truly don't have a final opinion, yet.

This is all JMO.
The most important question is:
Has the prosecution proved its case "beyond" reasonable doubt.
Asking just this one question may quell many of those on the fence.
Bearing in mind: We're faced with the dilemma of not hearing the testimony of quite a few important witnesses.

Unlike Wilson, AC doesn't seem to think well on her feet. The time between questions allowed 4 to recover his composure. Imo.

He tried to distance himself from his family on the witness stand but his actions spoke louder than his words. With 2 of the 4 saying he was involved, that's some powerful testimony he needs to overcome.
