Yes, its pretty shocking they only interviewed Jake Wagner once after the murders. Didn't interview him again for nearly a year. LE was definitely on the wrong trail for an entire year. Very frustrating, but what many of us suspected all along.
This is also why they allowed him to have custody of S. He wasn't on their radar. I guess we should be grateful they finally figured it out.
JMO, also may explain why they were so punitive towards surviving Rhoden and Manley family members after the murders - destroying some personal property, obstructing settlement of victims estates, locking up homes, not allowing them to retrieve personal mementos and family heirlooms, not allowing them to have custody of the kids. All because they thought they needed to punish these people to make them talk. Problem was they didn't know any more than what they told LE. SMH.
Betty. They may have had Jake and thevWaggies up on wires pretty quick and didn’t need to interview him. The others may have come first to document the lies. And we don’t know if Jake just refused or avoided it during that time.
I don’t think, LE were looking in the wrong direction. LM was doing everything except protesting in front of the Sheriffs office with their names in big bloody letters. I think BCI had to take their time to assemble every bit of evidence, analyze more evidence than in any case in the history of the state, and satisfy everyone involved beginning with DEWine. He was not going to file or let Junk file until they had an airtight Case.
And I think they have their Case airtight, signed sealed and delivered now.
I do believe AW has an extremely competent legal defense team. I’ll have a better opinion after reading the actual motions. And as time goes on. They may try for a deal, but prosecutors would have a very difficult time selling to the public.
As very expensive as trying 4 death penalty cases is going to be for a poverty stricken area, as a whole people want justice for the 8 murder victims.
This has gained international attention and deals might end careers. IMO
In the end, as I see it and nearly everything I have read, the Waggie clan has been getting away with a significant amount of bad criminal behavior for decades. Pike County is fed up with it and allegedly when they assumed the right to murder 8 people they crossed an unforgiving line unacceptable to anyone. Money isn’t going to buy them a dismissal in this case.
If found guilty, one way or another they will die in jail. While the Rhoden family may have lived a lifestyle different than many of us, not one of them asked for or deserved to die for anything they did or anything they believed in. In so many ways this is worse than gang killings. With gangs you expect this activity to some degree. Neighbors now assumed of being ex friends or not should never be feared as remotely capable of planning and executing 8 people.
I am shaking my head when I think of AW TELLING THEVWORLD “Hanna was like a daughter to me.” That’s frightening as I would hate to think now of what she might have done to SW irvto a biological daughter if they disagreed. I believe that the Waggies are evil. They mix well with normal humans until crossed. Then off come the human masks to reveal the faces of evil that truly drives them.
