I have been looking heavily into the connection between the Eapmon murders in Elsmere and The Rhoden massacre and I no longer believe they are related. It seems that the belief is that Mr. Doug Eapmon may have been a police informant at one point and he was a major player in the drug industry unlike the Rhodens. I honestly think Chris Sr probably only grew for his own personal use and maybe to give it away to his friends. I don't think Chris Sr was selling weed if he was selling weed then he wouldn't have a reason to work a conventional job or repurpose automobiles. He probably just grew enough to last him throughout the year so he didn't have to buy it plus with him growing it himself he can assure that no harmful chemicals were used to process the plants. Big Eapmon was more into the pharmaceutical business and I have never once heard the Wagners or Rhodens names associated with pills, heroin or opiates. I know a lot of people in my hometown would grown upwards of 500 plants just to ensure they had enough throughout the year. My friend told me that most plants only generate about 3-6 ounces of bud. I was under the impression that a single plant could put out pounds at a time. So if they had 200 plants thats only 38 pounds and if it was relatively low quality then they wouldn't be getting no more than 300 per pound if it were sold in bulk that would only equate to roughly 15K. He was not some big time pot peddler like some idiots are claiming. But two things they do have in common is they were both very appealing men with beautiful wives. I feel bad from the Eapmons and Rhodens. No matter if someone is a drug addict/dealer or a Nark they do not deserve to be murdered.

Loomis, I’m with you on this, the Wagners started planning these murders months in advance, they saw all the crap going on, I saw in other post when those boy came to Union Hill Rd to fight Little Chris, Angela was right in the crowd supporting little Chris (and I’m going to search for it tonight so I can back this statement up unless someone has the information), the Wagners knew that April was the time to strike Hannah just had her baby, (Wagners didn’t want to be in jail as a baby killers), little Chris having turf war, Frankie punching man at the racetrack and Big Chris just got all his plants up big enough to transplant, the Wagners stock the Rhoden family they new exactly everything they did, sleep, eat,even their time to use the restroom JMO again JMO

There is also a little access road (I want to say Meade Rd.) just as you turn into the rest stop that could take you up behind the property via open field into power line right of way. There used to be a gate up but I don't know about now.

I will be in that area on Thursday, and if I have time I'll get some pics. I know it is a well used rest stop for truckers laying over. State Patrol keeps a close eye on that stretch of highway also.

Where I am talking about is further East at the foot of the hill, probably another mile or so right beside rest stop lot.

Thanks for that information about how much MJ Chris and Kenny were growing. JMO, I've never felt their grow op was capable of producing as much as LE claimed. There were no signs they were hauling in much extra money from selling weed.

Interesting follow up on the Eapmon's, too. It was such a scary time, the links and similarities of the murders were very compelling. Yes, Doug Eapmon appeared to have been very deeply involved at one time in dealing hard drugs. IIRC, he was connected to big time dealers out in California. Very different from the Rhodens, though we didn't know that at the time.

Betty it looks like you are on the wrong side of the hill. (Adams county end) Where I am talking about is the East side of the hill (Pike county end) It is the rest stop at the foot of the hill.

Not to quibble, but it's the prosecutor who makes the final decision about whether or which charges to bring against someone. Police arrest according to specific charges, but prosecutors (and sometimes grand juries) who must approve those charges and present them in court.

Ok I will buy that... the point I was making is just simply police can accuse and arrest for anything, courts can throw out the charges. It is the court that safeguards innocence. The concept of ‘if arrested they must be guilty’ is a slippery slope.

The technology needs to put up a wifi based security system, with the capability of uploading images, and/or vid to cell phones, and/or the cloud, and someone's ability to put together a rather basic, (and poorly designed), website, are two very different things. Apples and oranges.

Oh, you'd mentioned their website, I wasn't getting where you were going. As to who sits around plans something like the R/HHG murders, the murders had to be driven by hate, possibly fear of something the Rs had over on them, but you gotta really despise someone to do what they did to that family.

On the map it is called Rest Area 9-03. That little rd., Mead's Rd., looks like it turns into a dirt road on up into the hillside. That would be a long walk in, and someone would have to drop them off. I don't think I'd leave a vehicle there. It's kinda back off the road, but it seemed well lit.

I'm not anywhere near Appalachia and my cell service is poor. I live in a very flat area of Ohio compared to the SE Ohio area. On a good day I have two bars on the north side of my living room and zero to one bar elsewhere. That said the phone works decent most of the time...

I live on top of a hill in pike county, I have At&t for phone and the phone wont work in the house because it is built of metal. Phone service for outside is spotty, have to walk around alot. Internet provider for our desktop is horizon which has a cable line run. WiFi thru horizon just became available about 2 years ago, now the phone works anywhere in the house using wifi calling. I hope that helps with knowing some of the internet services available for pike county

The Motion for juvenile records is to see if the witness has any bias towards the defendant. The defendant getting a fair trial supersedes the rights of the witness for privacy. If privacy is too much of a concern to the witness then the witness simply can't be used by the prosecution.

You are the first person i have seen speak of that rest stop not too far away heading east on Rt 32. Noticed it about a month or so ago while doing a Google Maps street view move along of Rt. 32 looking for spots to enter the power line trail that runs behind DR's home. One thought i had was you could park at that Rest Stop and unload ATVs pretty easy and then be on that power line trail in no time. And since you would be parking on pavement no truck tire tracks would be found in any mud from said truck. Pretty much every where else would have left tire tracks besides parking directly on the road (not likely) or in someone's pavement drive way (not likely).

Are there security cams at the rest stop? A lot of them have them due to illegal activities that happen at them. Also they get patrolled often in most areas for the same reason. Then there are possible witness coming through.

Your absolute right Dudly and I don’t think for one instance that they didn’t wake the women up just to watch them beg, those killers are nothing more but animals that has no place in our society, I know that it is against a lot of people religious, but it should be up to the family that is still alive to make the decision to live or die like killers did to the Rhoden/Gilley family, these people are monsters and I tell you fellow sleturtser that if they where to ask me to push the buttons on the killers on executions day, I would do it without a mask on, and never loose a minutes sleep. I have thought the way DR was shot that she was awakened so she could see who was shooting her. Possibly HG and/or FR, also.

For the life of me, I just cannot understand why people hammer stuff like this in the Ws defense. It's like a Wagner pep rally. And yes, you are entitled to your opinion, as I am. Respect for you.

I'm not sure how this got mixed up in dialogue, however I do believe and have the opinion that LE has arrested the perpetrators of this crime.

In the beginning, I'd thought maybe the killers had stopped at that Rest Stop, stripped, cleaned up real quick, put their ruined clothing in a garbage bag, to be disposed of in the rest stop dumpster (or burned in a bit, at a remote location). Having gone through there, and it being later in the evening, it seemed, like most mountain parkways, that it started to become pretty desolate after everyone got home from work for the day. FFWD almost three years, and I think they did all the aforementioned at their old home place on Bethel now.

Idk about going in off of the road from the rest stop. That's some rugged terrain and the little road seems to turn into more of a dirt trail after a little ways in. It would eat into their time.

Anyone been down the little road that runs from the rest stop?

That one search they were looking through what could have be a place things were burned after. I think that was where they lived before the move to AK.
