Maybe she shot herself. The medical examiner probably tested for gunshot residue, if so.

Yes, it was gunshot wound(s) to the chest from an earlier report. Gunshot residue on hands and chest would be easy to find early on... The gun was also found at the scene....

That all makes sense. But why is BCI investigating and why haven’t they released a COD yet if it’s suicide? I just feel like all of that is adding suspicion.

Is it possible they said there was a possibility of suicide? I’m not sure how suicide can be officially ruled without a tox screen back yet.

“We can now confirm there is no evidence to indicate that this questioned death is linked to the eight homicides of 2016,” spokeswoman Jill Del Greco said in an email Friday.”

Odd that DeWine ' s office is making this announcement, instead of the Pike County Coroner, the only person legally allowed to make this determination. They went over all that in the Rhoden autopsy lawsuit depositions. County Coroner is legally required to make that decision on his own, without pressure from LE or prosecutors.

I wonder if the autopsy report went to DeWine before the county coroner saw it?

no worries! I just wanted to make sure you knew which victim we were discussing :)
WHIO TV Noon News just had a comment that Violet Taylor's death was ruled a suicide.
Some have said over the past two years that when a number of people know who killed the Rhodens & Hanna Gilley, that eventually someone else was going to be murdered to keep it quiet. We may never know if that is was happened to Violet Rhoden Taylor. But a person who wants to kill theirself do not typically shoot themself in the chest. And women do not kill themselves with guns as much as men do. JMO

Probably used a shotgun. A shotgun blast spreads out. So if you aim at the heart, even if you are off a bit, you're still gonna die, because of the spread. If I were going to kill myself, I'd use a shotgun.

A quick google search will show that while women are less likely to to kill themselves by gun, when a woman does kill herself by gun, they don’t usually shoot themselves in the head like a man would. Even facing death, a woman is more concerned about her appearance and what a gun shot to the head will do to her appearance.

I’m not saying whether Violet killed herself or not because I’ve yet to see it confirmed by BCI as well as the coroner. My mind is still open at this point until I see otherwise.

“The body of 35-year-old Violet Rhoden Taylor was found in the woods along the 2500 block of Lapperell Road on Monday morning. Her body was sent to Montgomery County for autopsy. As of Friday afternoon, the cause and manner of Taylor's death had not been determined, according to the Pike County Coroner's Office.”

Rhoden cousin's death not linked to 2016 murders

Just pondering, but maybe b/c Reader asked BCI to take this case, due to his overload at the time, and due to the name. I think that BCI is wanting to look at things more closely before they make the suicide call.

O/T it's not my appearance I'd be thinking of, it's living through it and being attached to a machine forever, paralyzed, and pleading with someone to unplug me. Failed attempts can be quite sad outcomes too.

I agree. My post was just based on what I read. I’m guessing that’s just a conclusion on researchers end because well, they can’t exactly ask someone who’s deceased why they shot themselves in the chest and not the head.

ETA-the autocorrect on this new forum is less than superb. I’m constantly having to edit my post because seeing my typos drive me crazy.

I edit constantly. Post Reply is touchy too. Cats, dogs, grandchildren, or a light breeze can post for me before I'm ready.

Omg I know! For some reason on my computer it just randomly clicks! So I’ve gone back to typing it in a word document and copying and pasting.

Glad to hear this. My tablet has been doing the same thing. Probably related to ads on the site.

Re BBM
Right. And "in the woods"
How convenient to quickly start saying suicide. Nothing to see here folks. I dont like it and I dont buy it. I dont like any of it one bit. This is awful. All I know is someone definitely has ties to LE in that area. There is no way all these things would be happening without resolution without someone having a direct tie to local LE. JMO of course

The other thing I wanted to add today is if I lived anywhere near there and had a personal connection to ANY of the deceased people I would be moving as quickly and quietly as I could.

At the rate people are turning up dead this may still not be over. Alaska was a good idea but since someone already chose that area I think Hawaii would be my choice. Make it hard for anyone to get me. :)

It makes sense to me that the shot was to the chest. Per her own face book posting ...
