I was thinking....... suppose JW was infuriated that the newborn was, in fact, not his child?
Does anyone know how long JW and HR were in a relationship? I would love to know the reason as to why they broke up- it must have been bad.
I personally think that the motive for the murders runs deeper than just a "custody battle." By the horrific way they were killed (overkill), it exhibits much hatred towards the Rhoden's. I am sure that custody may have been part of the motive, but I am certain that there are other factors. Only time will tell.
I was just speculating that maybe the newborn not being JW's child, may have fueled more rage?

He didn't find out that baby wasn't his until after the murders when the paternity test was done. He was pretty sure it was his but he was wrong.

I think it was custody, drug deals gone bad, jealousy of the Rhodens and greed.

Someone talked. Finally. And to think this was all discussed at Grandma's house. I hope she gets the max jail time.

Revenge on who? Maybe people were right to be scared.

Grandmothers accused of cover-up in Rhoden slayings plead not guilty - WCPO Cincinnati, OH

BBM

A judge set Wagner's bond at $100,000 and Newcomb's bond at $50,000, both with a 10 percent option. He placed both women under house arrest at their respective homes and said they can have no contact with members of the victims' family.

The state had requested a $200,000 bond for each of the women, saying they lied to an investigative grand jury. Prosecutors also said Wagner discussed her testimony afterward despite a judge not telling her to discuss it with anyone, and that investigators have a confidential source who claimed to have been at Wagner's home during a conversation in which some family members plotted revenge in the event that they were caught, and discussed how they could escape.

That revenge thing against LE should have kept granny in with no bail. Shows what money and power will get you.

They could've bought the bug detectors expecting they would be on the suspect list and knowing that is not something they could buy after the murders were discovered without throwing up some red flags. They had to assume they would be suspects at least initially merely because SW was conveniently not there when she normally would have been.

I agree with you taximama24. I think it was a preemptive purchase in anticipation of being suspects after the murders.

I have to wonder if it is the other brother. He broke off from them years ago, but maybe made up after the dad died? I have to think it would be someone close if they talked about this in front of them

I wonder who LE's confidential source is who was present at Fredericka's house when she and the other family members discussed getting revenge if they were caught? Someone who works for Fredericka? A family member? Interesting.

I got chills when I heard that part. This family is so very scary.

The Wagners tried to set Manley up for the murders. There were numerous exchanges between Jake Wagner and James Manley's phone (it's unknown who was answering it as he allegedly left it in his truck at night) on the night of the murders.

I don't dispute this but I don't understand it. Please, if someone could explain. I have some questions:
1) JM lived in the murder area so his phone pinging in that area would be normal.
2) If JW was the caller... wouldn't that implicate him, too? (I assume JW was calling from outside the murder ping area?)
3) If any of the calls came during the murders and it was JW to JM, then who might have made that call for JW since we know he was inside the murder ping area? Me-maw? I don't know...
4) Why does selling or giving the red truck to JM implicate him in the murders? It would seem to implicate the Wagners even more.
And... maybe this is the "hacking" that is seen on the indictments... maybe it only appeared that these calls took place?

Not so sure Gary was there when Christopher was killed. It was reported that Christopher was decomposed more then the others. Seems that killing Gary was to keep him quiet till the others were killed.

Also I think / believe that it was planned that way. I don’t think george wanted ti deal with both Christopher & Gary at the same time.

They were each innocent and absolutely didn't deserve the harm that came to them. But poor Gary and Kenneth. They had nothing at all to do with the situation, and Christopher...still a child. I just cannot understand the mentality. So, what is the theory, that Christopher was killed first while home alone?

I don’t know how the LM sat there during the process without shouting and screaming at those two women. I know the victims families are ordered to be quiet during the hearings but that would take a great deal of strength. My heart breaks for that man.

That's a terrifying thought that one of the Ws could have been answering those calls from inside or around James' truck, if that is indeed what was going on. How terrible that one of the reasons one life may have been spared was that it came down to they needed a fall guy and were trying to set him up.

I have wondered why JM was spared, as KR was not spared and he was also a great-uncle to S.

There was something very intentional about that text and it did draw suspicion to JM. Did the W's really think that JW's working to formalize an arrangement with Hanna would be enough to take the spotlight off of him? When there was a past history of him attempting to get sole custody?

Yes it clearly shows how controlling he was or wanted to be. Its like he thinks it is just up to him and he can have whatever he wants even if the baby isn't his. Crazy thinking!

KayKay, you summarized this family, the Ws, nicely in one word, "entitled." From top to bottom, it looks as if this family tree feels and acts exactly as you said it "entitled."

Someone who, at this moment, may be grabbing a suitcase and heading out of Ohio. I wish LE hadn't mentioned this confidential informant. There's only a very small number of people who it could be.

FW:
Subject of bond: Prosecution side saying they were advised there was a conversation at FW's home (with FW present) among those charged with murders about what would happen if anyone was arrested, revenge was discussed, mentioned Reader, Dewine as targets and a 3rd person (sorry I missed the name), sounded like it might be a prosecutor. FW has access to large sums of money. ETA her atty (James?) Owen argued her assets aren't liquid, it's all tied up in land, etc.

Bond set - Judge: $100,000 with 10% deposit. To be fingerprinted at Pike Co Sheriff's office. To have no contact with any members of victims' family. Will be under electronically monitored house arrest. Should not leave her premises except for consulting with her lawyer, medical appointments, however she must document in advance any reason to leave which must be approved. Must notify pre-trial services officer when she leaves. May leave for court hearing. Not to use alcohol or controlled substances, she may take prescriptions prescribed by licensed physician.

(Above is for FW. Got most of it but not all of it.)

So FW is at home, and sitting there course of being arrested threatens revenge, mentions 3 public officials by name, and gets to bond out on house arrest at 10k??? UNREAL

Do you know who Robin is and what relation to FW he/she is? I can't help thinking of RW of BBL fame. It was mentioned in a FB post on Flying W Farms that Fredricka and Robin are okay and the horses are being well cared for.

I am pretty sure that is FW daughter. I am checking to be sure.

The prosecution claimed that documents Newcomb forged are at the “epicenter of this case.”

I sure am curious what those documents could be about and if an attorney helped create them. JMO

I have a place for Mr. Manley in my heart, too. With the first few words he spoke, he answered one of the biggest questions... "the why." His love for his family has touched me all along. My heart breaks for them all but, it was this photo that hit me the hardest. I wish the whole family could be saved from all the pain yet to come as the legal process takes so much time but I'll bet Mr. Manley will be there every step of the way.

Yes, it was all strange, but those were the justifications that Pike County SO used to place the GPS tracker on JM's truck and later, to attempt to charge him with destroying it. It almost seemed like PCSO was trying to use the red truck and allegations about texts, etc. to implicate JM instead of going after JW. Really odd. We still don't have an explanation for that.

Selling JM the red truck that PCSO said was used "in a murder" may have been a crude attempt by the Wags to frame JM. If so, it worked because PCSO bought it, hook, line and sinker. Over a year after the murders. Maybe it took them a while to identify and trace the truck. If so, you would think they would have noticed that JM didn't own it at the time of the Rhoden murders.

Still a LOT of questions about this case that need to be answered.
