HMR would have probably called her Dad, and 911, if he tried to take her without her consent. She'd have known that they hadn't had a hearing in family court. They had nothing to hide at DR's home (which I think, is why CR1 got it for them). There were no weed grows there. He'd probably been so sweet to her, since they started laying out their plans, that sugar wouldn't have melted in his mouth. I hope he breaks and rolls on the rest.
Well, Dana did get a phone call at work which upset her. Maybe she tried to call her dad and he did not answer because they got to him first?

The rest of my questions in the post, I think, would also be worth some input. E.g. does anyone know if an arrestee gets detoxed when they are put in jail? As in, medically supervised? Or are they just tossed in with general population and expected to go through withdrawal with no supervision? Crazy and dangerous, if so.
Is there evidence that any of them were addicts?

We've never been able to establish that as fact.

Possibly because the person that she worked with who told that was warned off.

Make was checking to with James Manley by text to make sure that him and all his family was home, Make played James.
Welcome JOHNNY B BAD....I noticed this is your first post! It must have been a difficult situation for detectives to overlook : It might have appeared as if JM received a text/phone call/or signal from EdwJakeW on the same night as the murders.... Of course now everyone knows it was just more of "W's evil and manipulations."
Hope you continue here, IQuestion-a-lot:)

Whether it's smokes, alcohol, heroin, etc... for the large part, most go through cold-turkey detox. If they ask to see medical staff, they would probably receive meds to help control some of the symptoms ( nausea, and diarrhea, for example). Jails are pretty well versed in handling detoxing prisoners. They tend to get a lot of them these days.

I just looked at it. It shows AW, JW, and GW (AW's son?). What's weird are the murder charges aren't showing for GW (a mistake? - he's charged per the indictment).

There's a man listed just above AW, and he has 8 charges of murder. Is there another murderer, or is this a mistake?

They are listed in control in pike but it’s my understanding the County’s jail was deemed structurally unfit. Prisoners, especially long term holds are contracted to other counties. In this case it may keep the Waggies from getting killed before trial.

I think the real danger is to the community, witnesses specifically, and not the Wagners.

I’m sure that all their calls will be monitored, as these aren’t the type of people with the good sense to not lash out at those who betrayed them.

Dana’s Dad was fine perhaps you’re thinking CRSR?

I do believe this will be a very detailed well laid out prosecution case. Nothing left to chance and 95% of questions answered.

I also believe LE was told it was the Waggies the very first day. Six days later they had the first solid indicator. When those documents were first read they would have probably clearly thrown up red flags. The content may have revealed an educated author but one that lacked law school training. Secondarily the signature would have been examined.

Although LE “ran down” every lead “bug and small” most fall apart quickly. I think they had a very good idea early on, and took the time to be as thorough as possible.

I really credit Sheriff Reader for calling for help the morning of April 22, 2016. And to AG DEWine for authorizing every resource Ohio LE has to get to UHR. THE FEDS AS WELL AS I WOULD IMAGINE THE DATABASE for shoe prints and tires was utilized

To every Sheriff who contacted Sheriff Reader the first day, you guys are awesome. None of them knew that morning if there would be more bodies as a result of a drug war or exactly what they were looking at. They did one thing, their elected jobs. And if that means sending people, cars and helicopters that’s what each did. Because we that’s what Charlie Reader would have done for them.

Every person who touched this case did a hell of a job.

And in the end they got em.

FYI. I don’t live in Ohio. My dear Elderly Auntie does. But I live summers in a house about 5 miles from the WAGGIES Rental Home in Alaska.

They did a tremendous job here. I have no doubt that they had a good idea who was responsible, from very early on in this investigation.

Knowing it, and proving it, are two very different things though.

I don't remember how quickly the Wagner's came up in the media, but if I recall correctly, it was very early on.

It was driving me nuts that their Facebook pictures showed them enjoying life up in Alaska, and I thought they would have a lot more time to enjoy their freedom than they ultimately did.

I can't imagine the amount of work that went into finding and analyzing the evidence here, and it's no surprise that it took this long for the case to come together.

I'm so glad it did.

I don't think JW could have forced HMR for paternity testing. My son had a horrible accident that left him with traumatic brain injury, he has two children, the mother of the children walked out of the hospital after two weeks. I fought and won visitation, But, I was a little unsure about the paternity of his second child, so, I ordered a paternity swab kit. I swabbed him and her, sent it off and it came back like 99% she was his!! Now this test will not hold up in a court of law because it was not secured and "potentially" someone could have messed with it. But it was enough to satisfy my curiosity. I know normally the first thing an Ohio court will do is seek paternity testing, rather than find out down the road that the person doesn't have any rights to the child. I can understand leaving the fathers name off the BC if you don't know who the father is, and if they tested in vitro wouldn't all possible fathers have to be swabbed as well? For me I see JW's mom all about these little baby girls, most guys would not go to the extremes JW has gone to w/o someone prodding him along.

In Ohio, He could have forced a paternity test himself after the baby was born by filing a Complaint for paternity in Court; thereby exposing himself to officially paying child support. The baby has to be born first for him to do that.

I agree, I have a hard time believing you go from zero human kills to a methodical 8 murders. And possibly someone in the past who appeared to die of 'natural causes' or accidental death?

And to have killed this family as they slept exposes the Wagners as not just evil, but ultimately despicable cowards.

You now have me wondering about the missing Chillicothe women. Evidence in that case so far appears to be otherwise; but ya never know.

Mass murderers who kill for some sort of gain, are very different than serial killers who kill for pleasure.

If any of these people have killed before, it would be as part of a grudge, or in an effort to commit some other type of crime.

I don’t think there’s any chance of a connection.

Either party, or the state, can petition the court for a paternity test.

When the child is receiving public assistance CFS will automatically obtain a court order for a paternity test if the mother refuses to name a father, the father denies responsibility, or if the father in unknown.

Interesting article about the children and baby K’s paternity. I read this when it was published over two years ago.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cincinnati.com/amp/85231530

“K’s unanswered question

In the abyss of unanswered and seemingly never-ending questions, one answer may come soon for Kylie: The name of her daddy.

No father's name is listed on her birth certificate. Family and friends say her mom had been in three on-again, off-again relationships during the time in which Kylie was conceived. And two of those men said they will take paternity tests, perhaps as soon as this week, to determine paternity. They both want to raise the baby girl.”

They were very involved with certain factions of the community. Everyone knew who they were but they stayed within people who believed as they did. I know the George’s and Jake did freelance work for cash. Servicing commercial fishing boats and carpentry etc.

I don’t think they intended to return to Ohio permanently. I think it was to take care of business and eventually return to make a real effort in Alaska.

Their time ran out and LE caught up with them.

I do not care what the Rhodens did, how they made a living, if they lived in Appalachia or Chicago. The color of their skin makes no difference or if rich or poor.

No one, and I mean no one had any right to murder eight members of that family. Not over a child, horses chickens, drugs or the custody of a child. If they had gotten away with it, our society was worse than I’d thought.

I don’t understand a sense of entitlement or the thought your family had the right to kill.

The people of thecState of Ohio are now faced with a 7-10 MILLION dollar cost to put them on death row. Pike County can’t pay for it so Gov. Elect DeWine will have to allocate $$ in the annual budget for the next 4-5 years until each case is adjudicated. After 5 years the line item budget for the WAGGIES will be less but Appeals can take years.

Ohio can thank the Waggies for the funds being taken to help feed the poor, vacinations for kids and maybe the increase in registration fees for each car. The trial costs have to come from somewhere. Anywhere or everywhere.

Death Penalty certified lawyers and regular defense lawyers will have a guaranteed income for 8 -10 years.

What stupidity from WAGGIES .
