So sad about this. It's absolutely horrible.

My condolences to the family and friends of Richard (Dick) and Gladis Russell. May the Russells be restored to their youth in the heavens and may they meet up again with loved ones and friends who have gone on before them. It is a good time for them, but such a sad time for those left behind.

I'm completely and thoroughly saddened by the senseless violence inflicted on this sweet couple.

Peace and rest and blessings to the Russells. Dance now Richard and Gladis. Dance with the angels. Your pain is over.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! So well said Truthsleuth. Thank you. What a senseless tragedy, total selfishness on the part of SL. May he receive swift justice.

On the 6:00 P.M. WBNS-TV news, WBNS-TV reported that Littleton was in the Valdosta, Ga., area on Feb. 18. He was seen driving a gray and green 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis with an Ohio license plate.

10TV News confirmed that the car was spotted without its headlights on around 6 a.m. Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver fled at a high rate of speed.

Valdosta police commander Brian Childress said the department's policy is not to chase cars for minor traffic violations.

After Ohio authorities issued a nationwide alert for the Russells' car on Feb. 21, Valdosta officers reviewed tape from the cruiser's dashboard camera and confirmed it was their car that was spotted days earlier.

No matter where he said he left the bodies, right there needs to be searched.

They just said on our local news that the Russells were killed in their home.

Thank you. As I just started reading here tonight that was my first question. I really am shocked he has admitted to killing them but not at all surprised where it was done.

I realize that a high-speed pursuit can be very dangerous not only for the officers but anyone else who may be in the way. However, if only they had been able to apprehend him and the vehicle then. The bodies may still have been in the trunk. MOO

They had lived their long lives with each other and in death he separates them.

How sad.

Your family will make sure you both now rest in peace together, Mr and Mrs. Russell, side by side, just like you lived your lives.

imo

Can someone answer this question:
If SL cannot better describe the Valdosta area from his jail cell, or cannot/will not do it precisely, can he be put in a car and driven to Georgia to show authorities exactly where he left the Russells, specifically which cotton field he is talking about? Is that doable, or is it breaking some law? He already confessed to killing them, why can't he help locate them?

I just so much want the Russells' bodies to be found and to receive a proper, respectful burial in a lovely setting. Anything else would not be right.

It seems to be that one of his family members had to be behind him confessing to what he has done.

I think somehow they had been in contact with him when he was on the run and kept telling him to come back to W.VA. I remember reading an article that said LE had gotten word he wanted to turn himself in.

I think there has been a go between and LE.

IMO

He really didn't want them ever found. Probably thinking that by disposing of them that far away, and keeping them separated if they were ever found no one would think that they could be the Russell's.

Probably true, however he has confessed. My question is.......why? A deal?

Hopefully that was it and the DP is still an option. MOO

I think if there was a deal made,it would have included whereabouts of the Russells.(moo)...Rest In Peace Mr. and Mrs.Russell.

LE came so close to getting him twice. Once at the rest area and again in Valdosta. His luck during his run is disgusting.

I know that is doable.

Back in the late 70s or early 80s, I remember LE brought Henry Lucas to our town here in Georgia to show them how he had murdered a pregnant convenience store worker.

He described the scene that day perfectly. Since he was already in prison in Texas they never charged him with that murder though.

So I do know they can bring them to the scene. IIRC, it is done by the US Marshall Service.

Although we don't know all the details yet I am glad to see the familes of Tiffany Brown, the Russells and even SL have shown class and been respectful of each other.

Just thinking of Haleigh, Caylee, & Hailey Dunn and what those familes have been like disgusts me. God Bless you Sam Littleton Sr. for calling the authorities on your son. You did the right thing.

Moody AFB is right there so I imagine they will have the helicopters in the air tomorrow or other aircraft.

I hope his confessions mean he will plead guilty and not force these families through the agony of trials, which could drag on for years. That would be the only relief in all of this tragedy.

No I think that it is too early yet for a deal. I think his family may be putting pressure on him to tell what happened, that would include what he did and where he left he Russell's.

I don't think his family were in contact with him until he called his father. I think he headed to Florida, and something happened. Maybe he ran short on money or maybe the cop in Valdosta spooked him. But I do think he headed to his father's hoping for assistance in hiding him. But IMO dad tried to talk him into turning himself in. I think that he maybe told his father that he would, but either he chickened out or he had no intention of turning himself in and just told his dad he would. Because even after he did get caught he didn't give himself up he made them take him down.

Fighting extradition, I think he is mainly doing that to stay close to family. I have read that his father is real sick (cancer maybe?) and that he hadn't seen his family for years. His sis said on camera that whereever he was they would be there for him. So I think maybe it is both for his own comfort and to spend time with his father. I don't worry about that though because he can't get out of jail, and eventually he will have to return to Ohio. Probably he will try to use his father's illness to prevent extradition, but that will only last so long. LE doesn't like hanging on to someone else's prisoner if they don't have charges against them on their own. There is also the fact that once he hits Ohio he will be hit with the trials and the possibility that the DP might (probably will) be on the table. So he may want to procrastinate for a while. But he will be under tremendous pressure to accept extradition.
