OH OH - Roberta 'Bobby' Snider, 70, Hartville, 4 Jan 2018 *Guilty*

  • #221
Even if all the aspects of his story were true, the one thing that I find not to be possible is the physical act of a 70 y/o old man lifting a 180lb.? (guessing by the picture) dead weight body up and pushing over a railing.
The investigators should have him re enact how he was physically able to do this.

My mother was 57 when she died from cancer in seven months from being diagnosed. She went from weighing 139 pounds down to 79 pounds at the time of her death. I do not believe Bobby would have weighed her normal weight if she was dying of cancer and at the very end of her life.

But as far as what a 70 year old man or one older can do varies greatly depending on each individual. My husband just turned 72 this month. He is very physically fit, trim, muscular, and remains very strong. He has never drank alcohol or used any drugs. In fact when our young grandsons in their 20s come over to help him work he wears them out, and they cant keep up with him even though they try. lol I weigh 120 pounds and he picks me up with ease being playful many times.

I think it is a misconception that all older men must be weaklings. Many still workout at the gym and lift heavy weights. A lot of men this age are very active. Its not one size fits all. Just like someone in their 20,30, 40s cant do what others do in that same age range.

I do believe this man is suffering from some form of dementia. I am not surprised he is no longer cooperating with LE. It is very common for many dementia patients to become very combative when stress is being put on them.

Do you think that maybe she jumped to her death as she did not want to suffer anymore and he is covering for her?

Nope.

I'd believe mercy killing though. I can't believe that Right-to-Die laws do not exist in every state. I'm not a big fan of our governor (Brown) but that is one thing that he did for us in Cali. I know that I will never have to suffer if and when it comes down to it. No one should have to.

I have the feeling LE is knowing a lot more (or have more evidence) then they are saying. But they want to focus on finding her body as quickly as they can.

I also believe that she is closer to home then everyone thinks and that the whole graceland trip is an alibi.

Since no one has disputed that Bobby wasn't at the end of her cancer battle I believe it is true.

I see no reason for her husband to harm her when she evidently was on death's door. I don't think LE would have just taken his word for the dire condition Bobby was in. It would not go against medical confidentially I don't think for the doctor to simply say he didn't think she could make the trip. If she had terminal cancer, and I believe she did, it was already known to all who knew her that she was in a very fragile decline nearing the end of her battle.

I do think her husband was trying to keep a promise he had made to Bobby. I still believe there are serious cognitive issues with her husband and that is why the stories have changed. They may have both discussed different things about what should happen if she died in route, and its just stuck in his brain.

If he did put her somewhere in water I am afraid it may take until spring to find her body when the temp of the water warms up causing her body to rise.

I just see no logical reason for him to kill his wife when he knew already she had a very short time to live. JMO though

This is what I believe as well. They need to find her body to answer questions about her approximate day/time of death and the cause. I believe they have some kind of evidence they're not discussing, whether it's at the home or in the truck, they have something besides his story that has them considering him a suspect now.

I’m thinking he finally “lawyered up.”

But do we know for sure that she had cancer, or is that speculation? Also the brother in law thought he might have dementia, but he was ok with him taking his sister on a long trip? What about the kids? Did they think it was ok for them to take that trip? I'm just confused.

They might not have known. When my parents want to do something they are worried I might nag them about, they don't tell me until after the fact.

Possibility. I wonder if they are religious, or if any of the family is. I am catholic, and I spent some time trying to convince my grandmother that a relative of ours was not in hell because of his suicide. Old thinking was it was a ticket straight there. New thinking is that God wouldn't punish someone for being mentally ill and despondent. Anyway, I could see covering that up if other family members were likely to have such fears and would be haunted by it.

Although I doubt she would choose to jump off a bridge (or maybe not - hard to know), I have wondered if she decided to end her own suffering.

I'm thinking his family got him lawyered up.

Regardless of how he obtained counsel, it is completely appropriate IMO.

I'm still on the fence.

If you strip everything here to the bare bones, you have this: 2 people went on an out of state trip and only 1 returned. Knowing only that info, I know wouldn’t be searching my mind for reasons NOT to suspect the one remaining. I guess I’m just jaded.

Same here.
I have sympathy for him but I’m really suspicious.

The BBM of your post reminds me of what happened to a neighbor of ours about 8 years ago. She had terminal cancer and was a precious lovely woman. She left our subdivision, and traveled by vehicle to a bridge nearby. She pulled her car off the shoulder of the road, and then walked on to the bridge, and climbed up on the concrete railing, and jumped off. It was close to Christmas when it happened. She was in her early 70s. There were fishermen on the other side of the lake that saw her go in. Immediately 911 was called and they searched for her body for weeks. They never found her but did find some of her clothing about 30 miles away from where she went in. The lake she jumped in flows into the Flint River and that is where some of her clothing was found.

In a week with a lot of horrible news, this brought a smile to my face. [emoji7]

https://nypost.com/2018/01/24/man-accused-of-dumping-wifes-body-in-river-on-trip-to-graceland/

"Snider reportedly claimed to relatives that the woman was in poor health"

"Suspicious relatives contacted authorities who couldn’t track down any record of the woman’s death,*news station WJW reported."

So only husbands word of her ill health....

Changed my mind about the camera angles of the guard wall.

Don't want to add any more confusion, so I deleted my post...
