CLEVELAND, Ohio - A local family is asking for the public's help to find a missing Cleveland man who suffers from mental illness.
Rodney Rutledge, 60, was last heard from around 6 p.m. Friday, his brother Darwin Rutledge told cleveland.com Sunday. Rodney Rutledge called his brother using a borrowed cell phone at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cleveland, but by the time Darwin Rutledge got to the hotel to retrieve his brother, he was gone.
Rodney Rutledge lives at the Cityview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Carnegie Avenue, his brother said. However, Darwin Rutledge was told that his brother got into an altercation at the nursing home and was taken to St. Vincent Charity Medical Center for a psychological evaluation.
When he was discharged from the hospital, Rodney Rutledge was taken to Cleveland City Jail on an outstanding warrant and held for 24 hours before he was released, his brother said.
