Amish man arrested for murder of Ohio woman found dead with goat

Samuel Hochstetler was charged with the murder of Rosanna Kinsinger, who lived across the street from him in an Ohio Amish community.

Authorities began investigating the case after a suspicious death was reported on March 13 near Rutland, Ohio. According to court documents, Hochstetler became a suspect following a series of leads and interviews. On May 5, after a key interview with Meigs County sheriff’s deputies, he was formally charged with murder.

While a preliminary autopsy failed to immediately determine a cause of death, Hochstetler allegedly confessed to covering Kinsinger’s head with a blanket during sex, only to discover she was unresponsive afterward.

Rosanna Kinsinger’s father, Moses Kinsinger, said she was an outgoing, friendly person who liked being around people, and her death was shocking.

He said he hopes Hochstetler is repentant, the family wants to forgive him, and through God there is forgiveness. “He started down the wrong path.”

Meigs County murder case heads to grand jury

The body of the victim, Rosanna Kinsinger, was found at her home on Dye Road in Rutland March 13, according to investigators.
