Items of interest that will be tested for human remains and one bullet’ have been found by detectives who are combining through a property in Scioto County in connection to several missing persons cases, Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman confirmed on Tuesday.

  • a wooded area along Pine Creek Road near South Webster, Ohio.
  • the location could be related to three people that have been reported missing from multiple counties.
  • the most recent of the cases dates back more than 40 years.

Meaning disappearances from before 1985.

The distance is far and the counties from which LE are assisting don't match up, but my first thought with "40+ year-old disappearances," the general region and a possible link between the victims was the two remaining (suspected) Edward Surratt victims who have not been recovered, from Ohio and Pennsylvania. I've never believed his claims that they are "unrecoverable;" that sounds like someone who has every reason not to want them ever found would say. Hiding a third, unknown victim with them would be a strong reason.

From the April 15, 2025 article Property searched for clues in 40-year missing persons case, it appears they began excavating a well.

Among the law enforcement agencies involved are the Scioto County Sheriff's Office, Portsmouth Police, New Boston Police, PIke County Sheriff's Office, Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Wayne National Forest rangers, and Columbus Police, as well as the office of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and the BCI.

This is interesting. Last year I released a podcast called Lords of Death and one of the main subjects I interviewed details murdering his uncle on Halloween Night 1985 near South Webster and burying the remains. The area he described, along with his public defender, appears to be the same area that’s being searched. He claimed he buried the body somewhere off New Road, but when he aided investigators in locating the remains, he told them the body was in a well. The public defender said it was near what’s left of an old mining town called Roe. The victim’s body was never recovered and he’s not in the AG’s database to my knowledge.

My first thought was that maybe they have some info on Lori Ann Blevins, missing from Scotio County since 1984.

There are currently 2 other ladies missing from Portsmouth from around that time period.
