OH - Shawn Michael GRATE: 3 bodies found, Ashland/Madison, Sept 2016

  • #201
It said he visited Houston in 1999 from what I could see. He would have entered that in his bio in recent years as just somewhere he's travelled to. Not any particular business or place in Houston. Fb wasn't around back then.

Most likely nothing. I just found it odd that so many people did not know how to spell Texas, and that the site it links to actually has an address, and was registered as a business. The property was listed for sale back a couple years ago.

Texas Missing Persons search:
http://dps.texas.gov/mpch/MissingPersons.asp?Search=Search
If you enter loose parameters of last seen dates 1998-1999 there are a few hits around Houston.

I don't know what to think about this case. It seems, besides the ex-wife and child we know about, that there is another earlier birth record listing SG as the father (not linking as I'm not certain but 'SG' of same age and area) in 1999 in OH.
SG's early criminal record of abduction and violence appears to revolve around separation and custody disputes and so I'm not sure that any cases of unrelated victims in Texas will be connected to this guy, but who knows?

It would help to know where he went in Houston to narrow down any missing persons that may be linked to him. It's huge and very very spread out...lots of suburbs and "parts of town". I don't see anything in my searches linking him to anything here, so it would like a needle in a haybarn. Not getting any hits on the dps site, but I'll try again tomorrow on my computer.

When you hover over the date (1999) on his facebook, it says Jan. 1, 1999 @ 4:00am. The entry to facebook was March 10, 2014 @ 8:44pm. I don't think the date is accurate though. I checked when he graduated and it has a time and date of Jan. 1, 1995 @ 4:00am.

He was pretty violent that year according to his records but it does appear it's the woman he had a child with & another woman in Oct. 1999.

The latest 4 women he murdered/kidnapped don't appear to have been connected to him via children, marriage or living together.

Do we know the names of the 3 victims. And when they were reported missing.

Has any of these victims been in the papers as reported missing?

Stacy Stanley is the only one who has been identified so far and yes, she was reported missing. Don't know about the other two yet. HTH

Thank you. I just didn't know if his victims were maybe addicts or something. Or if he was killing middle and upper class females.

Thanks again.

Stacy was an addict in recovery according to what the family knew.

I was visiting someone in the Ashland jail today, and decided to check out the murder site, which is just 1.5 miles away from police station/jail/court house. What surprised me was how clean the area was, and that the laundromat was straight across from it....just across a tiny alley.
It took the police 18 minutes to get there, though. The abducted woman said that she was not going to try to make an escape until the police got there (911 call). Smart move. On the tv the owner said he lived behind his vacant house, and checked on the property weekly, but there was never a sign of entry. Strange. How in the world?!
The laundromat is the 3rd pic. Couldn't get a good pic with the sun in the background.

About my previous post of the pics of the murder site, my neighbor says the factory behind the house is closed. Kind of a given for OH...

Whoever owns that vacant home can be liable for negligence. Jmo.

Because I'm tired of seeing vacant bank homes that are used for criminals to use for bad activities as if they own that home without any person checking on these vacant structures. Jmo.

So if the crap can't sell. Then knock it down and stop allowing criminals the chance to do crimes in there. Jmo.

You're welcome. I, too, think Stacy was in recovery from what I've read. And I don't know if I just haven't been on any of the same threads as you lately, or if you really have been missing in action, but I have missed seeing you around.

Abduction case: Ashland house wasn't abandoned

(video of owner at link)

http://www.cleveland19.com/clip/12733134/abduction-case-ashland-house-wasnt-abandoned

The house sits across the street from where the owner sits 7 days per week. Amazing two women murdered & a hostage right out your window, in a house you own. It happened.

On tv they interviewed the owner, but I couldn't figure out where he lived? I was a little sheepish hanging around.
i only noticed the two houses, factory and laundromat. But not sure.
my 4 pics are above.

Great photos, @aydrianna - is the laundromat the same building as in the photo taken from the car, like bang opposite?

And nice to see you Dex, do I get a smooch too? :blowkiss:
