Whoa Bessie! Did you see the dump site in this one victim of Rembert's (Hall) East 83rd and Kinsman. That's awful spot on to the East Cleveland killings thread! Sorry, off topic, I posted it in Rembert's thread.
Yes! That's why I fully expected him to be charged in other cases.

The DNA must not have matched or they don't have DNA, which I find hard to believe they wouldn't have DNA

ASHLAND – A status conference for accused serial killer Shawn Grate has been rescheduled from today to next Monday, March 6.

The hearing in Ashland County Common Pleas Court was set to share the results of the not guilty by reason of insanity evaluation report completed by the Forensic Diagnostic Center in Mansfield. Accused Ashland serial killer's case headed for trial on April 9

http://www.richlandsource.com/ashland_source/accused-ashland-serial-killer-s-case-headed-for-trial-on/article_618db608-1b11-11e8-aecc-3b0095ba4242.html

Ashland County Common Pleas judge Ron Forsthoefel said the Shawn Grate case is "ramping up for trial" -- which is slated for April 9.

In what was expected to be the final pretrial in the case against the suspected serial killer, the defense and prosecution met with the judge via Skype video-conference Monday. Grate watched silently from the Ashland County Jail.

Grate, 41, is charged with four counts of aggravated murder in connection with the deaths of Stacey Stanley and Elizabeth Griffith. If convicted, Grate could receive the death penalty.

"If he is a witness, I would have to withdraw," the judge told Prosecutor Chris Tunnell and defense attorney Rolf Whitney during the hearing.

"Either there's an amended witness list or I'm out of this case, and we just wasted a hell of a lot of money getting jurors ready."

Andrew Forsthoefel was a corrections officer at the county jail, where Grate has been housed since September 2016. The judge said his son now is a road deputy.

Tunnell said he did not plan to call the judge's son as a witness and explained how he wound up on the list.

The State has an Exhibit list with 386 items on it and the Court has the trial set for several weeks. (According to the docket).

I wonder if they will request a change of venue? This is such a small-town area, they are unlikely to find jurors who have not heard of him or knew the victims. JMO.

Yep, but they have to give it a try! I love the bit about the woman whose sister in law will be called next week. She says they always disagree anyway. Lol.

Carrying this link over for those interested in Grate and his other case. New info. Isotopes.

I'm so excited about the Isotopes but I don't understand their plan to show Grate photos of missing girls and see if he recognizes them. At first he claimed he thought she was from Ohio. A girl from the Southern States where her Isotopes show would be likely to have an accent and would not be mistaken for a Midwesterner at all. I think he lied about who she is and what her supposedly remembers. He doesn't want her identified, IMO. I hope she gets identified before his trial is over so they can lock him away for good and not give him any more attention (other than finishing trying him for any additional crimes).

ETA: I do love their determined resolve to identify "Vicky" though (BBM):

Molnar began researching women, missing at least 11 years from the south, and so far she has provided 15 names and photographs to detectives.

All of the pictures will be shown to Grate after his trial in Ashland is over.

"Basically start all over. See if he recognizes anyone on this list," Bailey said.

Both Molnar and Bailey are promising not to give up until "Vicky" has a real name.

"We're not done. We want to make sure that this young woman is returned back to her family," Bailey said.
