Sierah was laid to rest today. I would estimate there was approx. 5-600 people in church. The flowers were like none you've ever seen. Just beautiful. They had a large screen and smaller screens set up that were showing pictures of her life since she was born. The reverend that spoke was from Sierah's church. He mentioned just 2 weeks ago, her and Josh popped in at Sunday dinner time..had a chat and a bite and then left. He made a specific point to say that God did not cause this, or allow this. This was committed by an evil, evil man, the devil himself walked among us. Another woman told of a prank that Sierah pulled on the father of one of her friends (They we're always pranking each other.) She wrapped his truck in saran wrap..18 rolls, and added lots and lots of sardines to really make it smell nice. A friend of the families little girl , she couldn't have been more than 5 went up front and sang, very well too, one of Sierah's favorite songs which was ..."Sing, sing a song, sing out loud, sing out strong." This little one sang it strong too! Wasn't a dry eye there. The families left for a private burial and everyone was invited to a luncheon at Evergreen High School.

That whole community pitched in for the wake. They feed no less than 700 people! The community cooked and donated every bit of food and drink. It was a well oiled machine and "Sunday Dinner " food. The families did not have to lift a finger. It was quite wonderful and that really explains why MOST people live out in the country and in small towns. The sense of community and pulling together. It was a very long day.

Now it begins..

Thank you for sharing this. Quite a tribute to such a young person. Well-deserved. She earned her Wings, for sure.

If this is beyond the limit of inquiry, please let me know and I will remove this question. But for anyone present, was this an open or closed casket visitation? I just can't make sense of this tragedy or what occurred
:(

So very sorry to hear that. Several of my friends were killed in a tragedy resulting in a closed casket. Not that I want to see my deceased buddies' faces, but doing so would have eased the pain, if only a little

I've only seen it mentioned once here, but I think it needs to be reiterated. Sierah is an absolute HERO. She made the ultimately sacrifice, and I think because of her courage and drive to fight, this man's sick agenda came to a crashing halt. She threw him off his game, and I hate that things ended the way they did, but as was mentioned several posts ago, she served her purpose in this world, and we should ALL be grateful. Hug your close ones extra tight tonight. Rest in peace, Sierah - you are far stronger than most of us.

I have a question in relation to the Sierah Joughin murder, that I hope can be answered in the thread.

Is fraternal DNA (not identical twins) different enough to be obvious. Am considering the possibility of a potential collusion. All IMO.

..haven't got to the end of the thread yet, and this has most likely been answered, but, yes, ONLY the DNA of identical twins is the same.

He has a decent haircut. I wonder who his barber is. And then I wonder what his/her thoughts on JDW might be.

..yes, he does.

..along with numerous "tools of the trade", his home, barn, motorcycle etc etc.

..and he told the Judge that he only made $1000 last year when requesting a public defender....??

..obviously that doesn't add up.

I agree with what others have said, Sierah was an angel, and for me that's not just a word, and she was a heroine. I have deep admiration for Sierah and I'm glad she has been put to rest and the service was beautiful.

JMO, but I don't think he actually constructed a room. I think that area was probably part of the barn, and because of what he was using it for, he had things stored in there, and thus it was 'hidden' from the view of most people. However, I also doubt he normally kept hay in front of the door to that room, if that was the only door. Think about it for a second....if you are trying to put someone in there against their will, would you want to have to take time to move the hay bales, while worrying about the person? And if you needed to get in that room frequently, would you block the door? So either there was other doors, or it wasn't usually hidden by hay bales. Very likely it did have a locked door though.

I'm thinking of barns I've been in. Many have a tack room, stalls for isolating new animals in, or stalls separate from the rest for foaling calves or horses, an area for orphaned cows or foals, etc. They aren't all used for the same thing, but the layout in many barns is the same. I know in my husband's grandfather's barn, it was an old dairy farm, and there was an area for the cold milk, an area the cows udders were cleaned before milking, an area for milking, and an 'office' of sorts where the meds, records, milk replacer, horse and cow halters, etc were kept. There was a stall for an injured animal to be kept as well.

In this area, some barns are now used as storage buildings, and some are used for mechanics as well. Like a garage. Many were family farms handed down, and not as many farmers as there was. Many families have outside jobs and no time to work a farm now.

These are jsut thoughts I'm having and just things I've observed in my area....

According to what I've read, it's usually a sex thing 😳 From the list of bondage and torture gear, I'd say it's safe to assume JDW is into sexual sadism.

No apologies necessary Elainera. The reason that I have posted the article 'Serial Killers - A Homicide Detective's Take' By Nelson Andreu, is because it is one of the most comprehensive articles that I have read over the past decade. It contains most of the answers to the questions that arise when studying the nonhuman soulless creatures like JDW. Hope this helps..

Denouement

Once a serial killer is in possession of a living victim, and has this victim where he feels safe enough to act out his fantasies, the acts he carries out are often performed as if on "auto-pilot." The killer's acts appear to be a close reenactment of what he previously did in his imagination. So, from among an array of violent fantasies, he picks and chooses the individual cruelties that he feels will assure the most in the way of "self-fulfillment.

" Yet, if a serial killer places this kind of special emphasis on the careful and systematic acting out of his favorite mind pictures, it is only because of the tremendous meaning and pleasure he derives from watching the degrading, dehumanizing effect they have upon his victim as he methodically carries them out. To him, nothing is more important than to see his victim reduced to the very lowest depths of misery and despair. For if there is any single reason that a serial killer does what he does, it is so that he may feel enlarged and magnified in his own eyes-through the willful and violent degradation of another human being. This need for self-magnification is always, I believe, a mandatory pre-requisite to any episodes of violence.

As for the actual commission of the murder itself, I believe this is usually nothing more than a postscript to a serial killer's overall scheme of violence. His real gratification comes from the subjugation, terrorizing, and brutalization of his victim, and almost not at all from the actual murder itself.

Thus, from a serial killer's viewpoint, his victim might be likened to a disposable paper cup, from which he takes a long and satisfying drink of water. Once the water is gone, his thirst quenched, the cup has served its purpose; it is useless, and therefore can be crushed without thought and thrown away without concern. Since he has met his need to terrorize and abuse, his victim is perceived as an object of inconvenience, a worn-out and no-longer-needed piece of baggage.

So, his only concern now is for quick extermination and safe disposal of the victim he no longer needs or wants.

I found this article "The Making or Breaking of a Serial Killer" to be extremely enlightening as well.

Addiction to anything starts with an introductory act; the anticipation of the act will be coupled with feelings of promise and exhilaration, and once the act has been completed there will be an elevated sense of satisfaction. The child’s lack or absence of empathy could mean that feelings of pain will not be reciprocated and the animal will not be afforded any special rights or immunity in the child’s eyes. A child’s destructive nature and curiosity (usually with respect to toys), coupled with CD, therefore, is a recipe for killing animals. And once the child has felt the exhilaration, something that the psychopathic crave, given their physiology, the antisocial behavior will be reinforced. This sets the ground for addiction, particularly given the high level of exhilaration.
Those with psychopathy and CD also show poor impulse control (Barry, et al., 2000), which seriously increases the likelihood of any behavior that has been met with high levels of reinforcement in the past. If you toss in the awakening of sexual feelings and impulses brought on by puberty, those with CD will inevitably start to see humans in a different way.
We must also look at the role of fantasy. Most people fantasize about things that they cannot have, but the psychopath has every intention of getting everything they desire. Psychopathic serial killers know that rape and killing provide exhilaration, and so in order to maximize that exhilaration they will plan out and fantasize over their next act. As they gain experience and learn what kinds of things provide maximum levels of reinforcement, they are likely to try and replicate the experience, perhaps trying to make it better than the time before. It must not be underestimated how much time and planning goes into this process, as they are expecting a huge physiological payoff. If the anticipation and the fantasizing goes as planned, the killer will get the stimulation they crave, but if not, all of that anticipation, planning, and personal investment will turn into frustration or rage.
Eventually, the serial killer is likely to meet a number of personal problems that frustrate their efforts for stimulation. Firstly, if the stimulation is contingent upon ever complex rituals and acts, then they will become harder and harder to fulfill. Secondly, if the well-planned and researched avenues for killing are shut off, due to police investigations or economic or social problems, then there is no promise of a forthcoming fix. And thirdly, there could be biological problems in the aging killer’s brain that make it harder for them to control their impulses.

I want to thank daisy, Foxfire, and hobbit for these chilling yet enlightening posts. It scares me to know that there are sick people like that out there. Terrible :(

So, in a nutshell, and in layman's terms, these kind of psychopathic serial killers want/need to feel powerful, yes? Torturing and killing provides them with psychological and sexual gratification, and it's the only thing that does provide fulfillment?

It was mentioned in one of the articles yesterday that "instruments of sexual deviation" were found. Are they referring to the shock collar? What other "instruments" could they have found (restraints?), and what exactly does the term "sexual deviation" include and exclude? I don't know much about these things at all.

I wonder whether he was part of an online bondage community (if that would be part of a "sexual deviation")? Or if he maybe shared photos and videos of his victims with other sickos online (dark web)?

Someone previously mentioned they found his email address. I think it was Motheroffourboys? Did you try googling it, sometimes that brings up communities the owner of the email was registered at.

Sorry to go over this again, but I feel the need to understand (although I doubt I will ever fully understand it).

I feel absolutely heartbroken for Sierah, her family & friends and all those whose lives such a beautiful young woman touched. I hope all will find comfort in her love and the life she shared with others. I know it must be such a devastating time for all who knew and loved Sierah, and may they be upheld in love & support through all of this madness that this life can inflict upon good hearted people whose lives will never be the same again. My prayers to all of you and my heartfelt condolences.

I have absolutely no interest in what that sick creep had going through his mind or what he did to his victim/s, but i hope they throw the legal book at him in a court of law, and he will be in prison where he rightfully belongs for however long he lives. It will still be small consolation for the families of all his victims if in fact more victims will be discovered through LE's investigations. I really don't know how they can do a job like that, but they have to be admired in helping to bring such evil to justice.

Considering the faith Sierah had in God, I hope it brings some comfort knowing that while evil took her life, it couldn't touch her soul! She lives on in an everlasting life, with no evil, and in the presence of the Lord. JMO!

Last thought for now....while it does appear there are other victims of Worley, items found in the search warrant are things that "COULD" be used for bad reasons, but they also could be normal things to have around the farm. I'm truly trying to not let my imagination go wild until we hear more facts. I think my brain can only handle such horrors in time bits at a time.
