Not sure if anyone has noticed this, but I also find it interesting he never posted S & M wedding video to any of his social media pages, yet he posted many other wedding videos he created.

It could be as simple as ST and/or MT didn't want the exposure to everyone in the surrounding areas that were looking for a wedding video business seeing their wedding video which also includes family & friends and a personal vow and little speeches and was made for them and their loved ones.

If that was their wishes and the BIL knew it yet proceeded to send their wedding video to news outlets after their horrific murders I call that exploiting their deaths and for personal business gain.

Events like these naturally widen the circle of people who had recent, direct contact with them, and police may be looking for any signs of tension, arguments, or unresolved disputes involving either member of the couple.

The timing is especially striking. Being murdered just after Christmas feels unusual, which raises questions about whether the holidays played any role, either by bringing someone into closer contact with them or by intensifying existing conflicts. While this doesn’t point to anything definitive, it does make the holiday period a logical focus for investigators trying to reconstruct motive and opportunity.

Another option, targeted burglary from local, or knows a local, looking for jewelry, cash, medicine cabinet narcotics. I am sure the home of a Dr. would be expected to contain many valuables large and small. Parents wanting to protect their children may comply easily when a gun is involved. Possibly a drug addict, desperate for easy money and cash.

However, a burglary would not necessitate murder, unless they tried to fight back, so I also wonder if it isn't number 3?

Yes but ST was a young professional who was only at the beginning of his earning power.

How much cash and jewelry would they have? Or meds in the medicine cabinet?

Nothing worth committing a double homicide and spending life in prison.

I am interested in the Dentist at the office where ST previously worked bringing a lawsuit over non-compete? May I ask when was the lawsuit, and who did it involve?

The lawsuit was public record and most likely has nothing to do with ST, but i think is important to note that it was against the dental practice he was working for during that time.

Correct! back in the 1950s-1980s when my grandpa was a dentist, they all took off Wednesday afternoons (to play golf lol) and then all day Fridays, that was typical for the time. I think it might have changed a little, but all three of the dentists I've seen as an adult don't work Fridays (or weekends either, just M-Th).

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Columbus police released a 911 call reportedly made from the Tepes’ Weinland Park residence in April 2025.

Someone called 911 and hung up; a dispatcher then called back and briefly spoke to a woman.

NBC4 news managers listened to the call multiple times and played it for a friend of Monique Tepe; a relative of the Tepes’ said the voice did not belong to Monique. Police records also show that the caller did not live at the Tepes’ Weinland Park address.

Speculation: the back door was unlocked. They entered that way after clearing the fence. I’m talking about the caller and the two others, not the perp.

The earlier 911 call from someone (friend/colleague) who was at the property after the initial police visit mentioned possibly having to break down the door. So he didn’t have a code. But perhaps the back door was unlocked, since we’ve heard nothing about damage.

Or they called a family member or friend and got the code.

i think ideation is bogging me down — ie. ST was a dentist, so this this was a resentful patient or desperate addict. orrrr MT’s divorced husband as a jilted ex.

as for my current theory, i think the simplest answer would be that whoever did this was in the social circle. not close but orbiting in the outer rings. and there’s no trying to rationalize why because all of this…. senseless. imo imo imo

Oh, maybe the BIL said it to someone else, because the interview I saw on youtube he only said that the woman was at a party, and that she had a mental break. I assumed the party was at S and M's, but I didn't hear him actually say it, which I noted, wondering if he purposefully didn't say a party at their house. I could have missed it. He pointed out that you can tell it isn't Monique's voice, which you can listen to on the wedding video. The BIL did say that Spencer told him about it, he had heard about it, which tells me the party most likely was at their house. Is there speculation this call may have some connection to the crime, or indicate nefarious activity at the house?

Anything out of the ordinary will give rise to speculation, so yes, there has been speculation, but just of the brainstorming sort like any other speculation. Is the two incidents that make it more noteworthy for me.

To add to the existing speculation, even if that call was from outside their house, they could have heard it and intervened. I’ve posted before about my history with domestic violence. One time when I was outside and distraught on the phone with my then-boyfriend, I had someone shout “shut up” to me. It would have been more helpful had they called 911, I was in way over my head. It’s possible Monique and Spencer were more compassionate than people who yell “shut up” to someone in distress, and offered to help. And intervening in any domestic dispute is always dangerous. Others have speculated they might be the type who just a history of helping such people.

It’s just additional details, like everything else we learn about them, that may or may not have any relevance.

Ultimately I think this detail is peculiar, but doesn’t lead me to any theory I think is more likely than any other.

Good point about the holiday timing. Was this coincidence, events were just unfolding and the culmination happened to be over the holidays? Or did the holidays increase opportunity or motive?

Usually the holidays mean people are not following their regular schedules. Work, school, hobbies, exercise, food, etc may be impacted. Some people are at home more. Some people travel and are away from home. People may be indulging more in drink, food, parties, spending money, etc. Are seeing their family more, old tensions come into play.

Some people find it a stressful time.

Did the killer travel to Columbus over the holidays? Or lived in Cbus but had more time to plan the murder? Or wanted to take action before the end of the year.

It sounds like an Hispanic accent. No it is not Appalachian as some have suggested. I have lived in a southern Ohio town with that population and it is not Appalachian. It is Hispanic.

Interestingly an older family member had come to dinner and was watching the news. He knows nothing about this case except he saw it on the national news at the time of the murder.

He listened to the 911 audio and said right away it was hispanic.

While it’s possible someone was living there with them, even if not currently, those “people finder” websites can be really unreliable. I searched my address and while it has me as the current occupant, it doesn’t list my spouse and does list other occupants that are former college roommates I lived with over 15 years ago in an entirely different property.

Logic being: nobody has landlines anymore, it was a hang up so no confirmation in the form of “911 what is the address of your emergency?” “1234 Main Street.” While I assume 911 is pinging incoming calls very precisely given every call being an emergency, in such a dense area is it possible it was assigned to that address incorrectly? Regardless of whether the call came from their home or not, I do not believe it was Monique.

I am a retired mental health professional and I had the same reaction and red flag: Intervention in a domestic dispute is dangerous.
