Regarding the BIL. I do think people need to give him a bit of break. Is he using this for personal gain and potentially a way to further advance his own career (i.e. making a film about this down the road), possibly? But there is a lot of distance between that and being the perp. Just imagine being in his shoes if he did it.. he is accepting every single media request that comes his way... if you had something to hide would you do that? Imagine the stress that would come with trying to hide that secret and also talking to the media so much and having the world dissect every word you say.

I think it's far more likely he has been tasked with being the family spokesperson, and he's doing the best job he can while making mistakes along the way and saying the wrong thing. He's made mistakes divulging info and commenting on the POI video. But how many of us would be perfect in that role? He was thrown into this. I do think some of his actions can be explained by the fact that he probably does sense some opportunity here for his future aspirations as a film maker or whatever, which is kind of gross, but also just human instinct for some people. JMO

<modsnip> I just think that he should definitely get into therapy himself and continue to work with his anxiety and perfectionism as well as bring kids into therapy as coping is hard. He might end up doing a good job.

And yes, his family is left with raising two orphans and I wish them strength. I hope that internet people will give them space and stop counting other people’s money especially since everyone in this situation might end up in a minus financially, not plus. I think that a tad of compassion might help. To remind again, even if the killer knew them, it was only one. The rest, all families and friends, are mourning so we can’t really push on them.

Something else to think about: Being they were pretty social people, were they planning a New Year’s Eve party and were including coworkers/friends at their house? Did they talk/text/email about it the day before with them and that was part of what caused the concerns when they weren’t able to get in contact with them? LE would know better about this and have the details of conversations etc. Also, an another site, someone else mentioned the POI in the video is a woman and suggested watching the video again to see the mannerisms of their walking and appear to brush their hair off their face. I don’t know if any of this means anything much more than I just don’t know what to think?

I don't. Adding her name to the deed could trigger "a due on sale" clause in his mortgage with the lender. We don't know how that loan is structured. He probably has a very compelling mortgage rate and didn't want to jeopardize that. If they had an estate planner the house could have been left to her in his will. Doctor loans are very appealing because of the terms. All JMO

An area with a History of Violence, despite transitioning.

I've often maintained there is a higher risk in this "upcoming" gentrified area that many dismiss. Yes, living in the city has crime risks but people seem to gloss over the murders in this small area (Weinland Park) over the past few years, the recent string of burglaries and the park right down the street that interviewed neighbors still say has plenty of drug activity (and was where an 8 year old was shot in 2022). Often people let their guard down in an "transitioning area" forgetting that many of those past connections are still there. One of the Tepe's interviewed neighbors said he "hears gunshots all the time", The quote was used by neighbor Chris Micciche to illustrate the prevalent violence in the neighborhood, but he also stressed that he heard "nothing that night or the morning of" the specific incident involving the Tepes. Also there is local resentment to "gentrification" and a divide between the have and have nots.

Agree, but noise in a high profile case like this is to be expected. Probably won’t be the last and keeps the public engaged. Particularly since LE is being so silent.

I’ve yet to find a content creator who is doing a good job covering this case. If anyone has a suggestion I’m open.

I watch a few but most of them either have missing info or they are giving out incorrect details. I think Plunder on YouTube has been doing a good job. She’s the only one I found who played some of the actual radio dispatch.

I live in a city - not Columbus. On the ring app in our city, I’ve seen a lot of posts lately about people coming at 2-3am and checking front doors to see if they’re locked - even in decent neighborhoods. It sounds like the Tepes had a keypad front door, and I’ve had those in the past and they can be tricky. If you didn’t shut the door right, it wouldn’t lock. It makes me wonder if this was sort of stranger after all who just happened to find an unlocked door.

YalI I get swngrz vibes from this couple. I’m sure I’m wrong. Not being judgmental or even saying that they put themselves at risk if they were-not anymore at risk than say divorcing a spouse puts you at risk and it sounds like
M’s divorce was quite amicable.
I don’t think it was a robbery or mistaken identity or house
I do think like many he was targeted. But why:
Financial /business related-I did find it pretty odd the Police were called bc he didn’t show for work and wasn’t answering regardless of the fact they couldn’t reach the wife. I wouldn’t have found the 911 call odd if someone had already stopped by the home and didn’t get an answer at the door. Was being in Florida a coincidence or…
Personal grudge: No ex or kid that I remember reading about-maybe something not known to public yet though
I don’t think someone follows you home and lays in wait after feeling disrespected in traffic or somewhere and shoots you.
Maybe a disgruntled female patient-I say this bc of the male seen on camera. I just don’t see someone shooting you over a dental bill, but other issues someone may take into their own hands. NOT saying ST did anything either but I can factually say I once worked with someone that got themselves in trouble making false accusations such as this.

Yes, but in this case both of the spouses are deceased, so if no will then Ohio's inheritance laws state that next is children. If no children, then I think parents are next. If no parents, then next is siblings. IIRC these last two.

The owner of the practice was in fact in Florida, so he doesn't need to state an alibi. It seemed he was awkwardly trying to navigate the call.

Spencer was shot twice. Monique once.
3 9mm spent casings recovered on scene. Nothing telling about that. Had Spencer been mag-dumped and his wife shot once, then yes it would seem like directed rage. A double tap and single tap to people in the same room doesn't say much. Seems like a quick reaction. They can probably tell how quickly the shots were in Spencer based off the shot grouping.

As for the noise liability we don't know that there was a lot of noise, other than the gunshots (even in the unlikely event they were suppressed). Could have been a lot of noise between the 3 shots, kids, and golden doodle. . We discussed how people in the city are desensitized to noise We know the next morning the kids were likely yelling/crying and neighbors didn't hear it. One neighbor said he hears gunshots all the time.

This says the kids have been with him for the past few days. And another article said Rob and Madeline have the dog Larry. They have no children themselves. Monique's sister is recently married and has a baby.
So my comment about who is raising the kids and the childrens $$ was conjecture.
I supposed the grandparents of either Monique or Spencer could raise them but they are much older than the sisters.

I hope law enforcement has found some clues or has some idea of who it is.

It really and truly could’ve been anyone at this point, disgruntled patient, acquaintance that had some familiarity with their house, someone from their past, random that noticed their house.

Still creepy to think about how brazen this killer was, lurking outside their house late at night, successfully breaking in, not worrying about the dog stopping him or S/M waking up, committing the murders and just escaping as if nothing happened. And scary to think about him still being out there.
