A group of football players in Steubenville, Ohio, allegedly drugged a girl at a party, then gang raped her. As if that wasn't enough, they hauled her around to other parties, raping her and urinating on her. There is video of these boys bragging and laughing about the rape.


Apparently this was known to the coaches, sheriff, and some of their parents, who all tried to cover it up. A splinter group of Anonymous got wind of it and leaked everything.

There is one link that I suggest everyone avoid; it's a zip file of leaked emails which contain . The video below is disturbing.

They already moved them from adult court into juvenile court, so I don't envision as to why they would move them back.

This is a quote from Police Chief William McCafferty. Surely it was edited or taken out of context? Is he kidding? MN is intoxicated, so implicating himself in this assault is just one of those jokes he was making? Implicating himself as a witness is just a boys will be boys kinda thing?

I am looking forward to a broader explanation of this.

This was the top story on Google News when I opened it this morning.

Agree, heads need to roll, and IMO it's time for the FBI to get involved. This appears to be a case of corruption within local government, and while state officials have apparently taken over the case itself, what was done by local officials prior to that needs to be investigated federally. Then you'll see some heads rolling...

So I finally got up the nerve to watch the video. Just absolutely disgusting human beings, the lot of them. Even the ones saying "what if it was your daughter?" - because NONE of THEM did anything to help her.

Why are none of the rest of these guys in jail, especially N<modsnip>? Why only the two? Is it because they're black and the other guys are white? I don't know, just speculating, but I'm especially wondering how the hell N<Modsnip>avoided being charged, given that he admitted to rape on this video.

Worse than I imagined. Just laughing the entire time. Laughing at this victim, laughing at other victims (Caylee, Nicole Simpson, etc). Unbelievable. How can anyone associate with any of them after seeing this?

I am speechless and then full of words.......

Admittedly I haven't really followed this case. Sandy Hook and the holidays took up a lot of my time. I had heard about it..........

Lord please help us. Our society - our civilization - is becoming sicker and sicker.

It seems that this "rape culture" is worldwide. I had just read everything about that poor girl in India on the bus. MY GOD - they pulled her intestines out and threw her in the street.

Is this a "gender" problem? Is this an "athletic culture" problem? Makes me wonder about all the NFL "superstars" that commit similar crimes - what were they doing in high school? College? Is it a violent video game problem? (wait for - its coming). Wonder how these "drunk teenagers" would talk if they would have ever seen a real dead body?

That video with that stoopid, drunk kid continously talking about "the dead girl" is so disturbing. Disturbing because it shows the culture that our male youth live in (and thrive on). And then the statement about her getting pregnant and giving brith to a dead baby! OMG - I'm really getting sick to my stomach here. Literally.


One more thing - I strongly believe that the kidnapping charge should be tacked back on. One article I read said it has been dropped. Kidnapping is a FEDERAL CRIME. BIG PRISON TIME. In that other horrific case the creeps only got 6 years - in the end. Not if there is a kidnapping charge. They took her from party to party - that's kidnapping. Period.

Makes me sad. What are "WE" becoming?

I read one comment while digging around on Anonymous's stuff that the reason the Jefferson County Prosecutor recused herself was because the video was filmed in her house by her son, who by the way has not been charged. Not sure on authenticity. However, if you check the football roster, there is a player with the last name <modsnip>.

The videographer of the now infamous N<modsnip> is said to be a person other than Hanlin's son.

It's not clear, but there may be another video shot by her son which may or may not be out there somewhere.

It does appear to be clear to me that Hanlin's son was present for at least some of the events of that night. I base my opinion about that on a screenshot of one of his contemporary tweets.
