Distrust of Goddard or Anonymous are posted here repeatedly - the poster will only trust local media - but is relieved that a pig like Stranahan shows up on the scene. I don't know what "Derndit" means so think I'll stick with "Oy Vey!"
______________________________________This post ... I know and come into contact with men who are fathers of the boys my kids go to school with that are not gentlemanly, empathic, or compassionate and these men are raising the boys that will one day try to date my daughters. Ugh! What is this world coming to?
The OJ Simpson trial proves that the press has zero problems with covering black-on-white crimes. ... But this black-on-white crime became the most publicized crime of all time. ...
Tawana and Duke Rape...TWO cases over a period of 25 years. How does that prove that the media loves to report on white-on-black crimes?
There are 20,000 murders a year. Most of them don't get any coverage. There was no mystery to the Newsome/Christian case. There is no doubt about the guilt of the murderers. ...
I don't get what this man's retirement has to do with the case in Steubenville. Is there any reason not to believe what the article says about his reasons for retiring?http://www.morningjournalnews.com/p...5434/Spaite-keeping-his-whistle.html?nav=5006

COLUMBIANA - Bob Spaite believes it is time to step down from two positions he has held in the city school district the last several years.
The board of education accepted Spaite's retirement resignation last week and on June 1 he will no longer be teaching social studies or serve as athletic director. He will remain on as head football coach, a position he had held 19 seasons.
Why hasn't this video been studied by experts against possible suspects and/or witness'? MN is the only one they seem to care about.
BTW, he also makes a joke "What if she had a black baby"
I only worship at one church and it has nothing to do with Goddard, but I'm interested in knowing what information that Goddard herself posted that you consider fudged. The fact that the Cleveland reporter you cited used her information makes me think she thought it was credible. The fact that CS and those behind him tried to shut her up makes me think it was too. As for Stranahan, his views on politics don't concern me in regard to this case, but his rep regarding his views of rape andIt just seems that some here are all to willing to worship at the First Church of Alexandra Goddard. When you have to fudge facts on an already terrible situation, you should question the motives behind it. Virtually every grain of truth has been elaborated on to make it more appealing for MSM. Which was the point all along. Or why else would Roseanna Barr go on Nancy Grace and say the girl was likely drugged & transported in a trunk from party to party? Where was that charge made? I don't subscribe to Stranahan's crazy right wing views, but he is the only one posting the official transcript. Why isn't the beloved Localleaks using it? Because it contradicts the story they've gotten everyone lathered up over.

One case establishes a pattern? It seems to me that sometimes (not always), the press will try to avoid cases where the alleged criminal is a "person of color". There are countless cases that prove such. Recently, the top-5 website Drudgereport.com has been accused of being "racist" becaue they link to stories of urban crime.
Don't you find it interesting that the mutual combat Trayvon Martin case (tragic) gets huge national attention, but the brutal, vicious gang attack / torture of Newsome / Christian in Tennessee gets a pass?
Or you can even take a local case in San Francisco referred to with many names - "Epic Beard Man", "Vietnam Vet on an AC Transit Bus in San Francisco", where a 67-year-old Vietnam vet protected himself (self defense) from a 40-year-old ex-convict on a public bus. The Vietnam Vet doesn't use "Politically Correct" language, but he tells the mouthing-off ex con that "I'll go Vietnam on you boy". The old man walks away, sits down, and the ex con persues him, and throws a punch at the senior citizen. The Vietnam Vet then does open up a case of whoop-***, and the youtube video gains popularity. But this more complex confrontation doesn't go national as it doesn't neatly fit the narrative the media seeks. But videos and cartoons branding him as racist become even more popular. I think the same may apply to Steubenville, but the Dr Phil Show may take it up a notch.

Let me clarify a point I made yesterday. It has been repeated over and over that an assistant football coach hosted one of these party's; now, it appears that the coach in question acted almost exactly opposite, throwing the kids out of his house. (His 16 yo sister reportedly invited them.) While his response may not have been perfect, it is far different than how it was characterized.
Second, some new people to this story want to lambast the Sheriff, which I get. From what I understand, the case was first handled by the SPD, and then transferred to the Ohio Attorney General. He may have augmented what was going on, but he is not the AG or the SPD.
It has been alleged by some that Jane Hanlin, Jason Hanlin, the Sherriff, and / or the football coach, or various John Does may have interfered with the collection of evidence. Can it be proven? Legally proven?
On top of this, we are faced with the fact that one kid could have been tipped... say a son of an "insider" ... and he / she could have sent a PM or a VOX message or a snapchat to all of their friends, and they could have forwarded it, and all of the electronic evidence could have been deleted in a matter of minutes. Hopefully, there are a few honest kids here. We've already been told they've caught kids in lies. And maybe there will be a few young people in the outer circle who can come forward to shed light on what really happened.
Does anyone know if the full 300-page pre-trial transcript is posted?
Financial Aid Penalties for University Students
Students who attend a public university in Ohio will lose any state-funded financial aid for two years if they have been found guilty of an alcohol-related crime, such as underage drinking.
http://dartcenter.org/content/steubenville-rape-case-conversation-with-rachel-dissell#.UPS0LSc0WSoYou've reported before about abused teenagers, and about perpetrators. But this time social media and internet issues permeate the story. How has this affected your reporting?
It's been hard to keep up with, because the social media is so fast-moving. For instance, I had to do a lot of capturing of online material for our story in September.
There is a blogger, Alexandra Goddard, who has really good social media skills - she is a social media analyst in her other job. She also lived in Steubenville. Seeing the report in local papers and learning that it involved football players, she knew that this story was going to be made to go away. So she immediately went online and retrieved all of the digital evidence she could. She gave police some time to work. But once she saw that they were not going after the case in the way she thought they should, she started posting evidence online.
Early when I was looking at the story, someone shot me a note saying I should talk to her. So I did. She has much better computer and social media skills than I do so she was able to show me a couple of tricks to find things, and then to verify who someone was and that it was accurate.
Well, if you take a look at her blog you'll find Goddard didn't do any of those things either. She blurred out twitter names originally and did not name anyone involved until the probable cause hearing and the names were published in print.Obviously Goddard shared the video, pictures or tweet she collected, or described them in detail for the PD writer. I doubt the sheriff or police dept did. But for some reason, the journalist opted not to name CS, MN, or any of the others as rapists, or make rage-filled comments about the victim being drugged, locked in a trunk, defecated on, compare CS to Charles Manson.
