I have an 11-year-old daughter, and I cannot imagine her having a "relationship" like this. Where are the parents?

My girlfriend has been substitute teaching (and had this young lady in class last week).

The kids at the middle school have been telling her all about secret accounts and how they just make a new account for whatever they want to use every time they get caught or get it taken away.

This kiddo has like 15 facebooks and just as many Instagram accounts and Tik Tok accounts. It took me all of 5 minutes to find the one where she’s professing her love for her “husband” at 11 years old, and another where she lists herself as married weeks ago and her mom yelling at her to take it down.

As an aside, she goes to the same school as my oldest and I now want to just cut off all phones and outside communication. Can’t we just keep them little forever??

I've been struggling with this myself. IMO----- I assume a parent called LE to report her missing, did they say she is with boyfriend/step brother? Were they aware? If this is the case, I won't be surprised these parents are going to have some legal issues. I also see child services getting involved. I hope this little girl gets whatever assistance she needs. She's trying to grow up way to fast and apparently with the help of a family member or two. IMO

In the article linked above, his grandmother says they're acquainted, but he's not her stepbrother. Not that it matters much; 12 is still way under the age of consent here in Ohio and 23 is way over it.

"On Tuesday, 19 News made contact with two women inside a home at Stiver’s last known address in Cleveland; one of them identified herself as his grandmother.
“It’s sad. He’s not talked to anyone, none of the family,” she said.
She referred to Stiver as the girl’s boyfriend, but denied that he was her stepbrother, as police reported.
Without elaborating, the grandmother did acknowledge that her family does indeed know the family of the 12-year-old girl.
“Turn yourself in, that’s what I’ve been telling him when I message him,” she told 19 News."

I'm glad she was found safe. My daughter will be 12 in September, and she still plays with dolls with the little girl next door. She rides her bike every afternoon after school. She's still a baby. This poor girl has been done a disservice by the adults around her.

Well..holy moley. Just reading the 35 posts on this thread were a rollercoaster and I’m glad we are off this ride now. Young girls only have hearts in their eyes while the guys are a wolf in sheeps clothing. Us adults can see him for what he is but that little girl has no idea that his motives have nothing to do with her best interests. I’m glad she is home safe and the young man has been caught.

No clue! At first I thought it might have been reported wrong and he is the mom's boyfriend however his FB accts had him listed as married to the child. Not to mention, where would the stepbrother part come in? I think this is a wait and see issue. IMO
