Shadyside Police searching for missing man
SHADYSIDE, Ohio (WTRF) - Police in Shadyside are looking for a man who has been missing since Saturday afternoon.
Troy DeLong, 46, of Shadyside, was last seen around 1 p.m. on Saturday in the area of Pinch Run Road.
On Monday, his family notified Shadyside Police that he had not been in touch, and they filed a missing persons report.
Around 7 p.m. Tuesday, police were notified that someone saw DeLong's truck in a wooded area in Shadyside.
Officers with Shadyside Police along with the Belmont County Sheriff's Department and a K9 traced him for a few hundred yards before trailing off.
Since it was getting dark at the time, Shadyside Police called off the search for the night and they will resume in that wooded area on Wednesday morning.
According to police, there is no evidence of what may have happened to DeLong. His cell phone was turned off Saturday afternoon just south of Shadyside.
Officers said they have no reason to believe there is any foul play and they also have no reason to believe this is a suicide. They added he also used to be a hunter.
If you have any information on the case, call Shadyside Police at 740-676-4023 or our anonymous Lauttamus Security Crime Fighters tip line at 1-800-223-0312. Your call will remain confidential.
