Is there anyone who is familiar with the detective and could submit someone easily?

This is the only previous reference I can find to Patricia Salamandyk in this thread, and it's just a pointer to her thread. I can't find any indication in either thread that she was ever submitted, let alone ruled out.

Just googled, haven't seen this article where it says they are taking DNA. It sure makes it easier.

Patricia Salamandyk: Can sketch help solve 43-year-old cold case?

Now, investigators are re-interviewing witnesses, collecting DNA and have released a sketch of what Salamandyk, who would now be 60, could look like today.

"We'd like to find Patricia alive and reunite her with her family," Glavin said. "That would be our ultimate hope."

Realistically? "We aren't hopeful with re-uniting — that would be a miracle — but closure."

Following up on my prior post. SR 55 west into Ludlow Falls to Greenville avenue. It wasn't a couple of semis as I posted, it's a semi box trailer (Forget what it's called. CRS! Lol) that's not attached to a truck cab that looks like it's been sitting there awhile and not been used. Abandoned?

Also want to add that the dump site on Greenlee appears to be half way between the two westbound state routes off I75 exit in Troy but closer to 55. And, oh my gosh is Tipp City close to Troy.

I also think the Canadian girl Patricia does bear a strong resemblance.

Container.

Yes, that's plausible. We have a trucker who lives down the road--a narrow winding road that freaks out drivers in cars who have never been on it before. Usually he delivers a tralier somewhere and just drives the tractor (the front unit) home where he has an extra-large garage for it, but a time or two he has driven the whole rig and parked it beside the street.

I personally have my doubts about her coming from "out west." She could have, but her outfit isn't particularly "western."

My husband has never brought our tractor or trailer home. I wonder what percentage do.
Her clothes could have come from anywhere; especially the jacket. I still think it was made for her with the purple lining.

I would imagine it depends on whether there are other places to park and how affordable they are There are a couple of places around here but I've been told they're rather pricey, and they're not real close either.

Having been a driver for 20 years I can offer a little insight to the truckers as being rigs home.

It's only been say the past 15 years or so that many drivers do not being their rigs home.

Back in the day as a owner operator as well as.having driven for a company we brought our rigs home when we came in.

As the years progressed and larger companies become the norm drivers who work for a.company mostly parking at a company yard so the shop can service the truck while the driver is off and having home time.

In larger cities there are drivers.who do have to rent a space. These spaces can be at a drop yard, a lot owned by someone else or just a secure area. Most of those drivers pay a monthly fee and leave a personal vehicle there in the spot they rent so they have a ride home when they get in.

For those of us who own property it's not out of the normal at all to bring a rig home especially when we live in the country.

Back then it was easier to park at stores if there was one near where the driver lived. In our old town during the 90's, my hub used to park in a closed down diner until someone bought it; then he had to pay to park (2004). It was under a hundred per month until a few years ago.

Would they be able to detect at autopsy if Buckskin Girl had been deaf?

Also: was it stated what type of navel she had (innie, outie)? A weird detail, but if she frequently wore crop tops or bikinis, someone filing a MP report be able to remember what type of belly button she had when asked.

I'm still painfully curious about the results of the toxicology report.

Also, today I remembered a theory fairly far back (around page 30, IIRC) that I find interesting. Someone on here proposed that Buckskin Girl may have spent some time in an isolated place, i.e. a prison, jail, or psychiatric ward for a while, and was left in the world with the only street clothes she had.

Her eyebrows were recently plucked. I know psychiatric ward patients aren't allowed sharp objects like tweezers, razors, etc. but with a hair elastic, you can pluck your eyebrows (I know this from experience while moving and not unpacking the box with tweezers in it, LOL).

I still am personally a believer in the domestic abuse theory, but that was an interesting theory I wanted to bump.

Also, a final thought: were her legs and underarms shaved? I know her pubic area wasn't, because they matched the head hair color to it, but I wonder if the leg and underarm area was. I also wonder if her legs and arms matched the color of her face. Probably not, but late-April sunshine exists in Southern states, and if she was wearing shorts and a tank top or whatever, then her legs/arms would get tanned.

Good thoughts and questions as always, Springrain.

She's described as well-groomed, clean, and healthy, and I would take that to mean shaved in a normal American midwestern pattern. It tends to get mentioned with UIDs who aren't.

After checking around, I think autopsies can detect some types of hearing loss/deafness, like they were able to determine what was most likely caused Beehtoven's deafness post mortem. Definitely if it were cause by trauma, like a punctured eardrum, but not so sure about some of the hereditary or congenital causes.
I would also take "well-groomed" as meaning shave legs and armpits. For me, this eliminates BG as possibly being from Europe, as European women tended not to shave legs and underarms.

Sorry about the duplicate post. Is there a simple delete button?

Go to edit. It's one of the options in the edit panel. You click a box to activate it, and then click a button. Exact layout depends on what browser you're using.

She may have been deaf? Where did that come from?

Nowhere. I was reading about deafness and began to wonder if BG had been deaf in one or both ears, and that was a nuisance to her family/friends.

Oh. I thought you had found something nobody else did. Not a bad theory. I knew a few such people.

Now I imagine if the deafness was caused by trauma, they must be able to detect it. But if the hearing loss was congenital, would they?

Another thought: one of my friends is half Mexican, half white. Her skin is light with a bit of an olive tone, and freckly. Her hair is bright red (think Archie Andrews IRL). I know BG's hair wasn't bright red, but I do wonder if she may have been partially Hispanic. Probably just 1/4 or 1/2 though, would be my guess (if she was Hispanic). When I personally look at her post-mortem pictures, I think I see a touch of Hispanic. I think she is mainly white though.

I have a very close friend that looks like BG. I have to ask her nationality as I'm not remembering it off the top of my head. She married a Hispanic biker that's hard of hearing; their daughter could be her twin lol

My sister's husband is 4th generation American. His family is from Mexico and has Native American blood. His Grandmothers were Apache and either Comanche or Cheyenne, I think he said? Anyway, his hair was red as a child and my niece has her father's strong hispanic features as well as gorgeous flaming red hair. Not the ginger red like the Irish, but dark red. Maybe BG has some Native American blood?

Usually if there's native or hispanic ancestry, there are characteristics of teeth etc. that give a clue.

True that. My boyfriend is part Inuit & he has teeth that show that even though the rest of his family tree is European/Jewish.

My guess regarding Buckskin Girl is she is probably not of any Hispanic/Mexican descent. Her facial structure looks more like someone who is predominantly of "Anglo" Western European origin. Hispanic women tend to have high cheekbones. (The women in my family are above-average attractive Hispanic so maybe I have a huge bias here, lol)...
