It's too bad they didn't find a "smoking gun" pollen sample that would narrow down the area more, like they were able to find with Woodlawn Jane Doe
This girl was everywhere, which leads me to believe that she may have had a career or some sort of interest in which she could be outdoors and travel all over the country.
And isotope sure would help narrow it down even further.

These pollen testing are interesting. Pennsylvania is pretty close to Ohio; Philadelphia, maybe? That could fit in with the soot from industrial activity and it is close to OH.

Wonder if she was carrying a purse, backpack, etc. that had stuff like tweezers, toothbrush, hairbrush, maybe a bit of money. Her eyebrows just look so neat and tidy, and I can't see any little new hairs starting to grow in. If she was travelling, she would absolutely have to carry those tweezers with her to maintain her brows. Brow hairs grow in super quickly.

I'm confused on why she wasn't sexually assaulted if she was the victim of a truck stop killer, because that is very, very common. She was very pretty, and it would makes sense if she caught the eye of a sicko. If she turned down a violent truck stop killer when asked for sex, it seems more usual that he'd just rape her anyway. Maybe he bought her some dinner; they went back to the vehicle, and he asked to have sex with her. Something like "You owe me for the chicken and fries." She said no, and he got angry and hit her on the head. It was suggested on FB that the marks on her head could be from a tire iron, which could fit in with the scenario. He finished off the job by strangling her. I still feel like he'd rape her anyway, but just a thought. If she had taken her shoes off, and left her bag in the truck, then I could see why he wouldn't bother to fish them out and dump them with her body.

The part about the West pollen adds confusion. It makes it sound like it's from the Southwest. I really wonder if the jacket was her killer's, and he was a truck stop killer who wore the jacket while travelling. Or maybe she was returning from a vacation from the Southwest, and was hitching rides from the West to the Midwest and almost made it home. The jacket looks a bit big for her anyway, though it might have been to fit her chest, or to accompany clothes underneath. If the other clothing items were looser, I'd reckon it was just her style, but they are pretty form-fitting.

I just can't get over my gut feeling of her not being a hitchhiker, but maybe she was hitchhiking for the last few days of her life only.

A high level of soot from vehicle traffic and/or industrial activity was also found on her clothing
She was from or spent a significant amount of time in the northeastern dry-oak forest region, which includes areas in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

This could be from any of the tri-state area; PA, NJ and NY. I don't have time to keep googling but the dry oak forest is the key.
I feel the jacket doesn't look new.
I still feel DV because she was not sexually assaulted. She was probably the out of state girl friend of someone fairly local, he killed her in a jealous fit of rage because he heard she cheated or he just had a jealous nature. I've been the victim of DV, people flip for the stupidest reasons. The last guy that hit me broke my nose, a back left rib, bent 4 - 14k gold diamond stud earrings in my left ear. When I was out cold on the ground, he dumped a pitcher of water in my face, I woke up feeling like I was drowning.

I wonder if maybe she was with a nature conservatory group or something like that?

Thank you

Hiking maybe? She was in good physical condition, plus the scars.

I think this might be the dry oak forest they are talking about.

Looks like it covers where I used to live by Fort Dix/ McGuire Air Force Base to way up in North Jersey. I'm curious how much pollen I would have on me from living near it. I also used to work in Watchung NJ where we had tons of mountains. I used to hike them. There are also bike meets/ hill climbs right over the border in PA. Not everyone that rode or rode on motorcycles had ink. Could have been many reasons why she had the forest pollen on her. Really wish they would do isotopes. Can be very useful to figure the last piece of the puzzle!

There's the Appalachian Trail too. I know an older couple that told me they rode the Appalachian Trail on motorcycles back in the early 80's. And there is a lot of hiking trails around PA. It's a shame she didn't have socks or shoes - maybe you could tell by her shoes (ie: hiking boots vs motorcycle boots) what she was in too.

I was thinking the same thing about the pollen. I'm in PA, and I wonder how much pollen would be on me right now. April is really when the trees around here start to bloom. I'm curious to know how long it stays on you. I would think when you washed clothes/took a shower it would go away, but maybe I'm wrong.

I don't know why but the new info on the pollen kind of reminds me of the girl with the turquoise jewelry. She also had traveled to the southwest before she died. I doubt they are connected - just my ramblings.

Wonder if she worked in a steel factory in Pittsburgh. That would explain the spot from industrial America on her jacket, and steel working might explain her scars. It was a common profession back then.

if she was this "becky" girl that could account for her not being sexually assaulted. if it was a bad tempered bf then he wouldn't necessarily sexually assault her. just my :twocents:

I agree. Plus Becky was supposedly from a different state; that fits in with the pollen. It's the Southwest pollen that's tripping MD up now.

When I think industry and PA, I immediately think Pittsburgh area. The steel industry had started to decline around this time, but even today they are ranked as one of the cities with the worst air quality.

Makes sense to me

I've always felt either work boots or fringed moc's/ boots to go with the jacket. The moc's make the most sense with no socks; which leads me to wonder if she had markings on her feet/ legs for socks.

I don't recall industrial America mentioned. I did a search but don't see it mentioned in the thread

I sent Rubies a PM yesterday, also sent one to FugitiveMinister to see if s/he can turn it in. If she is Becky, it's possible she took a ride there with someone, that ended up contributing to why the BF flipped out. What gets me is why he left her where he did. She actually looks like a Becky to me lol

I used wrong wording, sorry, I meant a city or other place like it said in the article.

Doesn't she look like a Rebecca? I'm curious about how the poster who says they found Rubies on Facebook found her. I don't doubt him/her, I just am curious as to how they found Rubies.

Maybe Becky ran away from her abusive BF, and then eventually came back, and he flipped out?

I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket either...seems like many aspects of the story fit in with Buckskin Girl's, but I don't want to be too hopeful.

I found Buckskin Girl's case on Websleuths in Feb last year, after I heard about Tammy Jo Alexander's identity being solved. (I had known about Cali Doe since 2011 but I had forgotten about it til 2015). I spent more time on Walker County Jane Doe at first when I joined, but I still spent a fair amount of time on BG. Her post mortem photos, specifically the side one, made me so sad; you can see the betrayal and pain on her case. Anyway, for an entire week Monday to Sunday, I kept having horrible dreams about Buckskin Girl, and her violent death. It made me so sad, and the dreams wouldn't stop. I spent more time on her case, and I ended up getting really, really interested and emotional about her case.

Thanks for liking my theories! I know lots of them are really "out there", but I'm always thinking of her, and I so badly want Buckskin Girl to have her name back!

Haven't heard back from rubies87 yet (assuming I found the right person), but it may have gone to her "other" FB message inbox since we're not connected. I'll let you know when/if I hear back.

If Rubies87's story is honest, and assuming the 'boyfriend with a temper' lived in Ohio when he allegedly went to prison later for killing his wife, we might be able to track down an article about it. It would be nice to know his name (assuming he exists :) ).
