Police on Monday blocked off a park near a home where a teenage girl was found bound and gagged over the weekend.
Police apparently found items in Foundation Park that may be connected to the 13-year-old girl and three other people missing since Wednesday.
Investigators gathered evidence that filled a two-foot bag, 10TV's Tino Ramos reported.

Cruisers block off Mt. Vernon Park; girl found alive; no word on 3 others
Police cruisers have blocked off Foundation Park, which is near a home where a 13-year-old girl was found bound and gagged and a man was arrested on Sunday. The whereabouts of her mother, brother and another woman remained a mystery, however.
Mount Vernon police Capt. George Hartz says an officer patrolling overnight found items in the park possibly related to the girl and the ongoing search for her missing mother, brother and another woman.
Hartz would not say what was found in the park. He says it's closed until a determination is made on whether it's a crime scene.

Bond hearing expected today in Knox kidnapping case
A bond hearing is expected today for a man charged with kidnapping a 13-year-old Knox County girl who disappeared last week with her brother, her mother and her mother's friend.
Thirty-year-old Matthew Hoffman was arrested after Sarah Maynard was found bound and gagged in his Mount Vernon basement -- ten miles from her home.
Authorities are hoping Hoffman will provide information leading to the others.

If you type 49 columbus road, mount vernon, OH into google maps, then go west on S. madison avenue to S. norton street on the map, the park is right there after a right turn. Or, you can type S. Norton Street, Mt Vernon OH to get to a spot directly south of the pullout where they collected the evidence.

UPDATE

Ohio Division of Watercraft officials arrived at Mount Vernon's Foundation Park with boats about 10:40 a.m.

Mount Vernon police shut down the park for several hours this morning after an officer overnight reportedly found suspicious items there.

The park is a former gravel quarry that was turned into a recreation area by the city.The park was reopened at 10:30 a.m. Police would not comment on the search.

Relatives of Stephanie Strang were among those who had gathered at the park. Though they felt optimism when 13-year-old Sarah Maynard was found yesterday, they said they were frustrated today because authorities have not told them anything about the investigation.

Just checking in. So they are searching Foundation Park this morning after finding evidence last night? That doesn't sound good to find evidence there. From looking at the online map this park looks somewhat secluded from view. I would hate to think something happened to them in that park.

she was released from the hospital yesterday to her father's care - so nothing major physically.
