Is there a presser today?

dunno yet...there was supposed to be one @ 3pm, but sheriff's asst said they don't know if there will be one now.

The lack of a press conference today has me worried. Does this mean there is no new information or that there is and they can't release it to the public? :-\

Between 300 and 400 people assembled near the sheriff's office near Mount Vernon and met with Knox County Emergency Director Brian Hess before being dispatched to the woods and fields in the county northeast of Columbus.
The volunteers were divided into nine teams, with most sent to the eastern portion of the county in the Apple Valley and Gambier areas.
Hess said the sheriff's office requested the assistance to better organize volunteer searchers who had been striking out on their own. Today, search teams are following a grid pattern in hopes of finding evidence or bodies. Sheriff David B. Barber says it is likely the three missing people are dead.

I assume it may mean that there is no new information worth having a presser for. I imagine they will stop having them daily unless something big develops.

No presser today? No new info?
Thank goodness there are so many helping. That is awesome.

It is breaking my heart but, I am so feeling that these poor people aren’t in this area.
I feel MH took them to a pre planed spot, shortly after Wed night. I do not think they will be just laying out to find.

I wish I could shake that feeling. And someone would find them.
Please let me be wrong.

CK- I am not familiar with where those items were found. Sorry.

ETA: Just asked on the FB page... maybe someone there knows.

Btw, it's raining here today. Not sure how that is impacting the search, but probably keeping the chopper out of commission (both the news one and the OHP one). Too bad that choppers can't do a thorough search around the area with the buzzard sightings (where the blue sweatpants were found last night).

Hundreds of searchers, organized by Knox County Emergency Management and the American Red Cross of Knox County, gathered this morning at the movie theater parking lot on Upper Gilchrist Road to be organized into teams and deployed. At the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, around 80 Canine officers with their dogs were briefed and deployed by Deputy EMA Director Matt Sturgeon.

According to Knox County EMA Director Brian Hess, the 300 volunteer searchers were organized into teams. Each team was assigned a leader, many of whom were volunteer firefighters and off-duty police officers, as well as a medic who would be available to handle any injuries the searchers may endure.

While I think that these volunteer searches are valuable, I have to wonder why there have been no further aerial searches. With state and federal agencies now assisting, there should be funds available for more effective search tools, such as infrared equipment.
it was well demonstrated that the aerial use of the infrared camera and equipment can locate points of interest unnoticed by ground searchers and thus decrease the ground search area. Subsequent tests revealed that the body of a dead animal could easily be detected seventeen days after burial.

Let's get these people found now!
