Watching cross now and within the first 10 minutes he’s already completely undermined her! Ha! She hated Ashley and she can’t even hide it to get her freedom! She couldn’t even say on direct that she was sorry for luring Ashley to her death unintentionally. JMO

The jury deliberated for more than eight hours over two days before finding Stefanko guilty of both charges she was facing. The judge scheduled sentencing for Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024. Under Ohio law, Stefanko will be charged on just one offense of the prosecution’s choosing. The possible sentences for aggravated murder include 20 years to life, 25 years to life, 30 years to life, or life without the possibility of parole.

DAY 9, THURSDAY, FEB. 1

Summit County Court of Common Pleas Judge Jennifer Towell will sentence Erica Stefanko at 1 p.m.

On Wednesday, a jury found Stefanko, 41, guilty of aggravated murder and murder for the June 20, 2012 killing of Army veteran Ashley Biggs, 25.

Biggs had a daughter with Chad Cobb, Stefanko’s husband at the time of the murder, and Biggs and Cobb were in a custody battle for the child.

Stefanko lured Biggs to an empty parking lot of a closed business in New Franklin by ordering a pizza to the location. Biggs delivered the pizza as Cobb waited for her. Cobb tased Biggs, then beat and strangled her. Stefanko followed Cobb as he drove Biggs’ body to an empty field in Chippewa Township in Wayne County.

Stefanko then took Cobb back home where he washed off evidence of the crime.

“For 12 years we have fought for justice for Ashley and today, for a second time, a Summit County jury found Erica Stefanko guilty in connection with Ashley’s murder. Thank you to the jury, and to the prosecutors and the New Franklin Police Department who never gave up,” said Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh.
