Vendula Wendy Rose went on a camping trip to Alabama and has not been seen since Sept 24. She was supposed to return home Oct 2 but did not, and was reported missing Oct 4.

Those with information on Rose’s whereabouts are urged to email officer Curtis Wyckoff at [email protected].

I'm assuming family member, same last name has an update on Facebook. Can't link but has info as to a more specific location. That's all I think I can share here.

Just using some information tools, it appears that Vendula Rose has been living about 1 year in Marysville, Ohio. Since about 2014 to her move to Ohio, she appears to have lived in the Birmingham, Al. area. Someone was asking about her age, appears to be 41 Yo with an approx. BD of June 1983

"Rose drives a Silver Honda Accord with an Ohio license plate that reads "CHKSFLY"."

ETA a stock photo of what her car may look like (there is no year mentioned but this gives an approximate idea)

"Discover the beauty of the highest point in Alabama on an island in the sky! Cheaha Resort State Park, which is located on the southernmost tip of the Appalachian Mountain chain, is the oldest park in Alabama (est. 1933) and is considered by many to be one of the most unique parks in the nation. Imagine 2,799 acres of granite boulders and wind-warped ancient trees at 2,407 feet above sea level, often above the clouds, and surrounded by 392,567 acres of the Talladega National Forest including 7,245 acres of Cheaha Wilderness." (snipped to stay well below 10%)

I've hiked there. It's huge and very easy to be overlooked if injured.

Wait this is allowed to be posted now? I haven't been around a lot recently but I thought social media was still off limits, even police dept etc.

This news article stated her custom license plate read "CHKSFLY". Ohio police searching for Missing Woman who went on camping trip in Alabama Reading that I figured she was a pilot and looked her up in the public faa.gov airmen certification verification system. www.faa.gov. She has a private pilots license for small single engine planes but hasn't been medically certified to fly since 2015. Note: If she is only flies light sport aircraft she doesn't have to have a medical to fly, (just a driver's license and no known disqualifying medical condition). The records list a Ohio address. From that I found THIS - a young female ROTC cadet helped save her mother's life (mother being Vendula Rose) when the Mom became unresponsive and needed CPR. Ohio Cadet Honored for Saving Mother's Life The missing woman IS her Mom as photos of them together are on their FB pages. (can't link the daughters social media per the forum rules). I'm concerned now that "Wendy" has a underlying serious medical condition that might have left her unable to finish her hike/camping trip and she's still out there. I'm spreading the news among all my pilot friends who live in Alabama.

Not ROTC, Civil Air Patrol.

One of my kids is friends with one of her kids btw but I am not up to speed anymore with what is allowed to be posted these days (and FB LE wasn't 'always' allowed. It definitely wasn't back in the day). Just keeping an eye on official channels and trying to post anything helpful but there isn't much. A lot going on behind the scenes tho as far as trying to find her goes.

TY for spreading the word.

DUH - I don't know why I wrote ROTC - it was a Civil Air Patrol uniform in her photos :). I used to be an airline Captain, and have some female friends who have kids involved with CAP - a great organization. Keeping up with my thoughts and prayers for everyone involved in the search today.
