I'm not sure if it's related, but I did find some info online about a condo being foreclosed on in the name of Darlene Norcross in West Chester Township in 2015. I wonder if she missed payments after her disappearance, leading to foreclosure.

I don’t know about US foreclosure law, but if this had happened in Canada it’s likely the bank would be forced to pay the amount realized by the foreclosure back to the estate and eat any costs they incurred. Not that they did anything wrong; it’s just that you can’t sue a dead person, and that includes foreclosure.

That's an interesting point. Many US states do have similar provisions. I have an impression that they could sue the decedent's estate for the foreclosure, but that might require a second procedure.

In Ohio, the bank gets their money. If the case was pending, the estate would be substituted. If not pending, the bank makes the claim in the estate.

In 19 News' work to follow up on cases in our area, we have learned updates about two other Ohio cold cases, each solved with the work of the DNA Doe Project.

One of those cases, from 2014, involved a woman whose body was found in a wooded area in Butler County. Butler County Coroner Dr. Lisa Mannix was unable to determine the cause of death, and there no clear indication to her identity, as her remains were mostly skeletal by the time they were found.

However, this year, DNA Doe Project identified living relatives, positively identifying the woman as Darlene Wilson Norcross.
