8 years have now passed since Billy has gone missing. We always remain hopeful that he will be found. Love and strength to everyone who loved Billy and and who have helped search for him throughout the years.

Such incidents are painful of family members still searching for missing loved ones, such as Debbie Winkler Estes of Hamilton, who has been searching since 2011 for her son.

More than eight years after William DiSilvestro went missing from Hamilton, she still doesn’t know what happened.

The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Billy DiSilvestro deepened this week after Ross Township police received a new tip in the decade-old case.

"Cleves Road for the remains of a man missing for 10 years, according to Chief Burt Roberts.

Acting on a tip, officers began digging early this morning in searching for William “Billy” DiSilvestro.

DiSilvestro left a Rossville house on Ross Avenue after a party in the morning hours of Feb. 7, 2011, and has not been seen since. His family said he left his cell phone at a friend's house and had no money when he vanished.


Police were told DiSilvestro was shot by squatters in a home in Ross Township and the tipster claimed to have seen his remains in a barn nearby.

In the barn, officers found a hole covered with debris that cadaver dogs showed interest in, but hours of searching turned up nothing.

Roberts said it's possible the body was moved before police were able to search, because the tip came in more than 24 hours after the tipster claimed to have seen the body.

"The person who gave us this information, there was nothing for them to gain," said Debbie Estes, DiSilvestro's mother. "There was really no reason for them to make up this story."

While Tuesday's search turned up nothing, police still plan to search the house on the property as well."

After years, searching continues for Butler County adults who vanished

Hamilton mom Debbie Winkler Estes was in tears last week when she talked about the disappearance of her son William “Billy” DiSilvestro. Today marks 11 years since the 28-year-old vanished without a trace and 11 years of anguish for his mother.

"My son's favorite game growing up was lost and found, you know? Hide and seek. This is the biggest hide and seek I've ever done," Estes said.

"This case has gotten so much traction that there's been people that have no information, never knew Billy, don't have any credible information, just to be involved in the case," she said.
