I wonder if there is any hope that he didn't actual assault her sexually. Would there be a reason why they would wait so long to add those charges? They would know from her hospital stay if he had.

DNA

I'm sure they are waiting for the DNA results.

At this point they can probably prove that he kidnapped her but they will want to PROVE it if he did anything else.

Bless DNA and the people who developed the tests.

In the past I've pounded on my keyboard about this but oh well, since I have some time tonight I'll pound some more...

Some folks like to live on the edge, they think they are cool or whatever, self-centered reason they have for just constantly living a lifestyle filled with drugs, alcohol and run ins with the law and for having questionable friends all through their life.

You owe it to your children to get these people out of your life.

Say hello on the street or the gas station to them, that's fine if it's what it takes to keep the peace but you CAN SET BOUNDARIES.

I have friends from all walks of life. I understand what it's like to not want to be rude. Heck maybe some of these folks are your own relatives.

But don't your children deserve better?

I have faced decisions in the past where I've actually had to ask myself..."How effectively can you parent from PRISON???"

Well, you can't.

Remember the little sweetheart who was abducted IN school by someone who claimed to be a relative and then released in the park and found by a passerby? Her name was all over the media for a few days and then vanished completely to protect her privacy as a sexual assault victim.

The media is still using her name and photo. That says a lot.

Tuesday afternoon the Child Custody hearing was held in Jackson County Juvenile Court under Judge Chris Regan. During that hearing Judge Regan determined that M, and her minor siblings, were to be removed from the custody of their parents Franklin and Brenda S., and placed in foster care until a follow-up hearing in August. Franklin was ordered to have no contact with the minor children.

Thankfully, MSM will never be my moral compass.

Just because they are still printing her full name says nothing to me.

I was checking the thread for updates on this little angel.

The initial report of when she was found had me in tears.

I wish I could just open up my arms and my home and take all of these children in and give them the life they deserve.

BBM

That's the big reason there are so many children in care and in need of foster care.

There are way too many people in this world that are all about me and only care about themselves and their next drink or high or whatever.

I'm tired of the excuses.

Some very interesting rumors going around about additional coming charges for Zach involving some other children and other people being charged in MS's case.

He has a preliminary hearing tomorrow at 9:15 am. Several individuals were issued subpoenas to attend the hearing, including the father and the teen that was babysitting. Aside from the LE officers, there are three other individuals that received subpoenas (one of them, TL, is the owner of the gas station).

In Jackson County Municipal Court on Tuesday, the hearing for Zach Dunn, 30, was set for next week at 9:15 a.m. Monday. A $500,000, 10 percent cash bond was set.

In Ohio, a preliminary hearing is a court hearing to determine if a felony case has sufficient evidence to be sent over to the grand jury.

I believe that once this case reaches the grand jury, the prosecutor will likely seek indictments on additional charges along with the current charge.

No news yet on Dunn's hearing that was set for today-- hopefully something will be available by the 5 o'clock news.

However, the video link above does show the perp in cuffs talking to a reporter. I didn't see any visible signs of a struggle on his body (no cuts, scratches, etc). Dunn tells the reporter that he is not guilty. But, he doesn't answer when the reporter asks him how well he knows M. Video also includes interview with one of M's siblings.

Here's an article about today's hearing: http://www.wchstv.com/newsroom/eyewitness/130805_18082.shtml

A judge in Jackson County, Ohio, ruled Monday there was enough evidence in child abduction case to send it to a grand jury.

The article gives the name of the babysitter, who, apparently gave another version of the story as to what happened that night. There are some other details in the article as well, i.e. Dunn's green jacket was found near where MS was dropped off.

Looks like there is a video at the link too, but I can't view it.

The Jackson County court records have also been updated. See the Docket. Looks like the babysitter might have gotten a fine for "failure to appear".

Another article about the preliminary hearing today: http://www.wowktv.com/story/23051217/kidnapping-suspect-knew-childs-family-case-moving-forward

Paraphrased by me....
police said they are waiting for DNA tests to be completed before they move forward with additional criminal charges against Dunn.

The girl's father said he has known Dunn for years.

The babysitter said he went to get a drink in the kitchen, and when he came back, Dunn and (the girl) were no longer on the porch.

And what the heck is it with these people and their 'missed' court dates? I'm afraid to miss a freakin' dental appointment and this kid attempts to blow off a high profile court mandated appearance? :scared:

From all accounts I've read, with the multiple arrests of multiple people tied in one way or another to this case, no one in this family/social circle seems to take following the law all that seriously.

Poor M. :(

This "kid" also proudly posts pictures of his pot stash on his FB page.

I saw that too Claire. Also some research has told me that the babysitter with initials AC, who MS's sister said was her and M's brother - is actually not their brother at all. He is a kid who lives in the home and was "taken in" by the family because apparently his family is worse than MS's....
