..." He said he saw Dunn's car speeding off in the distance...."

Is that so? saw the CAR speeding off? Was an Amber alert sent out for this? I can't remember.

Maybe I'm getting old and crabby but WOWWWW I'm so sick of these kind of people. Sick, sick, sick. What the heck? Were they put on this earth to just do NOTHING but cause trouble?

In the video, LE says that Zack Dunn, at the time of his arrest, says, "Are you going to put in my handcuffs? Cause I hurt my hand slamming it in the screen door today."

Also, the reporter says that ZD told officers he was home the whole time (of M's disappearance). But, security cameras have ZD entering the same convenience store that M's dad and brother claimed to have gone to. ZD entered at 12:35 a.m. wearing a Green Carhartt jacket. The same jacket was found in a cemetery near the home where MS turned up later.

---

This has me questioning the timeline. How likely is it that M's family goes to the convenience store around the same time that ZD does. If ZD, only returned to the home to pay his debt for the CD players as he claims, why would he do that if he knew the dad wasn't home. The story is full of whole and coincidences, which raises the hinky meter.

--The fire of the ZD home began in the kitchen and the home is a "total loss."

No one still believes (or ever believed) that he was actually going there to pay for a CD player at 1:30 AM. LOL. I'm sure he was a regular customer of FS's "electronics" and was there to get a late-night "electronics" fix. What made him decide in his "electronics"-addled brain to snatch the girl and run instead of just to wait for AC to return with the "drink" he went to get him, I guess we'll never know...

The Jackson man whose 6-year-old daughter was the victim of a recent abduction in the city landed in jail earlier this week due to an unrelated incident. According to Jackson County Sheriff Tedd Frazier, the incident occurred in Jackson in the early-morning hours of Tuesday, August 13, and involved 43-year-old Franklin R. S., Sr. of 207 North Chestnut Street. At 1:47 a.m., deputies observed S. walking along State Street near the Carroll Avenue intersection. It was determined S. was intoxicated and he was charged with Disorderly Conduct By Intoxication and held for 8 hours in the Jackson County Correctional Facility.

I'm sure this will really impress the judge at the August 22nd custody hearing. I suppose we should be grateful he wasn't driving. :sigh:

I simply cannot understand people like this!
I refuse to take pain medication I desperately need...
I only drink a little bit, at night, at home after the kids are in bed.

It is so important to me to be sober and present for my children.
These people are simply beyond my comprehension. :banghead:

This is a well written, lengthy article that gives more detail than others I've seen. It's a must-read for anyone who has been following this case. I've only included a portion of what it says.

Due to laws that state that a person arrested for a crime of this nature has the right to a preliminary hearing within 10 days of arrest, time was ticking away to get the hearing finalized before the deadline.

The prosecution requested a continuance of the hearing because the teen witness was a no-show, but Dunn’s attorney, Herman Carson, said since it was the 10th and final day under the rules, he argued that the hearing must be completed that day.

Jackson County Municipal Court Judge Mark Musick contemplated his decision. “We will carry this over to tomorrow, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. I will also order that the minor in question be located and taken into custody if necessary until which time he can testify in court,” Musick said. Dunn was remanded back to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office under the same provisions that were ordered previously.

As the proceedings recessed, a friend of Franklin S. Sr. said he knew where the 16-year-old was and told the teen’s location to law enforcement personnel.

As to why the teen was late to the witness stand, S. said that he thought the teen was just scared that someone might try to blame him for what happened to M.

In other testimony, Jackson Police Sgt. Scott Conley described M’s eyes as being swollen and her forehead bleeding when she was found. “It appeared to me that she had been beaten with several punches,” Conley said in his testimony. Conley told the court that a coat, similar to what Dunn was seen wearing in surveillance video from a convenience store, was found in the cemetery, near the home on Oakland Road, where a battered M. was discovered.

This link has a video that includes footage of the burned house and interviews Zach Dunn's neighbors. The charges against ZD have not been upgraded from the original ones and the media continues to use MS's name in all of their reports.

Duchesne would not say whether the fire was suspicious.

The fire started in the kitchen and decimated much of the structure, according to Heath.

Thanks for posting this! :seeya: I see the article also states that the grand jury will be hearing ZD's case in the 'upcoming weeks'. I'm pretty certain more charges will come from additional interviews and incoming findings, which may include some DNA results coming in.

IMO, ZD did *something* sexual in nature to the victim. Why else would she be found naked? I highly doubt the frightened child willingly took off her own swimsuit before, during, or after he was beating the carp out of her. :stormingmad:

Personally, IMO, the simple fact that she was a child found naked after being abducted by a grown man should make journalists stop using her name. Grown man abducts swimsuit wearing six year old girl, beats her up and at some point, her swimsuit is removed. Grow a conscience journalists and media. Protect this child's privacy! :pullhair:

I sent a email about usage of names of minors and/or victims of sexual assault, to the person that wrote the article. I also ask them to share my statement about protecting victims, with other reporters.

I will update if I get a response back.

I applaud you for doing that.

If just one reporter/news station wakes up and does the right thing, and makes a point of protecting this child victim's privacy, perhaps the others will be shamed into following suit. Sexually assaulted or not, she is a child, and an assault victim. If she were a similarly aged juvenile perpetrator of a crime, the media would protect her. She's a high profile child victim in a fairly small community. Shame on all media who continually use her name.

Jesus Amen.

Would anyone here take their child over to be babysat by people with multiple arrests and selling "electronics" to whoever at all hours of the night? Not me. No way

I too came from a dad that was a pimp and had his "ladies" babysit me. My mom was running the streets and left me for hours in my crib while she neglected me. I thank god everyday that my grandmother said, enough. She removed me at a young age and fought for custody from her daughter and my dads family. Which consist of ex-cons, street pharmacists, and just the ghetto of the ghettoist.

I have cousins that grew up in what I call street life madness. Momma's and daddies in out of jail, illegal selling of god knows what, and neglect and abuse. They had babies at 15, work low wage jobs and have multiple instances of daily drama. Its a vicious cycle that never ends sometimes.

Just cause your parents love you isnt enough. My parents loved me, but were not mature enough to take care of me. They were a hot mess at the time. Now they are o.k. and i have a relationship with both.

As for me. I have a really good job. College graduate and had my first kid at 33. I had a rough teenage years, but I am who I am cause I was raised by a grandmother that taught me right from wrong and took care of me.

I know this post is old, but bless your heart and your strength. And your children are blessed to have such an awesome mom. You ROCK!

I agree that "something" happened to her-- based on her nakedness. I have been outraged that the media has continued to use her name since the day she was found that way.

Ok today is my irritated day so here I go:

No, I never wanted my mother for anything. I knew she was there, but the person that was my mother was my grandmother. Even now my mom lives with me, but she is more like a sibling than a mom. She is a awesome grandmother I must say!!

Being arrested multiple times is a huge red flag for me. I might be cray cray, but if you are an adult and in and out of jail for years then you cannot be a stable parent. Making mistakes when your young, ok, but around 25-30 or when you start having kids if you cannot get your stuff together you dont deserve to be a parent.

Personally, I know that adoption and foster care isnt always the best, but at times its the best option temoprarily. I am in no way shape or form an advocate for bio parents rights. I have really pointed views on this subject that i wont get into.

I also have issues with kids being placed with relatives. The comments the cousin made. A lot of these cases I see MOnday morning Quarterbacking. Relatives seeing things, but where were these people before CPS stepped in?

I agree. Poor Jhessye Shockley was placed with relatives. Jerice ( her 🤬🤬🤬 murdering "mother") bullied her way into getting Jhessye back and proceeded to torture and kill that sweet little butterfly.

The cousins that were caring for her were angels, but once that monster got out of jail, they had no choice but to give poor babygirl back to her.

It's not so easy when the child is placed with a non-relative family.
