The girl told investigators she had grown suspicious that Dingus was entering her room and purchased a small camera to document it, according to WOIO/Gray News. She said she received a motion alert on her phone approximately 15 minutes after leaving for school and later reviewed footage showing Dingus entering her room and sniffing her underwear. The following day, she received a second alert. That footage, she told investigators, showed Dingus again entering her room, smelling her worn underwear, and touching his groin area over his clothing.

A small-town Ohio mayor is facing voyeurism charges after a suspicious teenage girl set up a secret camera and caught him sniffing her dirty underwear, according to police.

Wesley Dingus, the mayor of rural Butler, Ohio, was busted after the girl — a relative in his care — hid a camera in her bedroom last month and allegedly caught him touching himself while smelling her dirty underwear, according to Richland Source.

After police received the creepy footage, they visited the girl at her high school the following day, where she told them that she set up the camera over suspicions that the 48-year-old mayor was going into her bedroom, according to a police report from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

3News has learned that Wesley Dingus has resigned from his position as mayor of the Village of Butler.

In a letter submitted to the village, Dingus wrote, "Effective immediately, I, Wesley Dingus, resign as Village of Butler Mayor. Not under stress, but under duress."

This is extremely disturbing. That young girl sensed something was off and she acted on it. I doubt she would have been safe around that man much longer.

However, I do wonder if the criminal charges will stick. Could it really be a crime to sniff dirty laundry in your own home? MOO

If this person is innocent, I hope that is revealed.
The first impression I have of that statement is to be astounded by the narcissism.
