Oklahoma attorney arrested after being accused of solicitation for murder
A defense attorney who practices in northeast Oklahoma has been accused by the state's multicounty grand jury of soliciting an imprisoned murderer to kill another murderer.
Winston Connor II was arrested Saturday at an airport in Charlotte, North Carolina, after returning from a vacation with his wife to the Caribbean. Investigators in Oklahoma searched his law office in Jay and his home in Grove.
Grand jurors secretly indicted Connor, 54, in November. The indictment is to be unsealed Monday in Tulsa.
Authorities said Connor asked convicted murderer Slint Tate to kill another man while they were behind bars during a tapped phone conversation.
He is charged with solicitation for first-degree murder, racketeering, witness tampering, assault, unlawful communication with an inmate and drug and prostitution offenses, according to a warrant for his arrest.
In 2017, Connor came under further investigation after a raid on two illicit Tulsa massage parlors which authorities said sexual services and involved at least one juvenile, according to Tulsa World.
As part of their investigation into Connor, authorities searched his law office in Jay, Oklahoma, and home in Grove, Oklahoma.
