Human remains found in Muskogee County identified

Family members tell FOX23 investigators confirmed remains found in Boynton Saturday are those of Thomas Fultz.
[...]
Fultz’s sister Channette Fultz says she had a feeling the human remains found in Boynton Saturday were those of her brother.

She adds there’s some relief knowing they can bring him home and don’t have to keep searching.

Fultz had been missing out of Okmulgee since September. His truck was found in Haskell just a few miles away from where the remains were found.

UPDATE, 2/15/2022, 11:30 a.m.:
Lighthorse Police confirm that a suspect is in custody, connected to the death of Thomas Fultz. However, the ATF has taken over the case, as the cause of death cannot be determined due to the condition of the body.

The Muscogee Nation Lighthorse Police confirmed human remains were discovered around 11 a.m. Saturday in Boynton. Officers say a man called them when his dog came upon them.

[...] Fultz had been missing out of Okmulgee since September. His truck was found in Haskell just a few miles away from where the remains were found.

Fultz's family members are remembering him as a funny and charismatic family man. His sister believes his big heart and willingness to help people caused what happened here and it's unfortunate.

The medical examiner hasn't given a cause of death just yet but investigators are treating it as a homicide. Muscogee Creek Nation Lighthorse Police, the Muskogee County Sheriff's Office, Medical Examiners Office and the FBI are working together to conduct this investigation.

Then in July of 2025, The FBI began asking for assistance from the public.
FBI investigates 2021 murder of Okmulgee man found in Boynton
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for assistance from the public regarding a homicide investigation of a man who disappeared in Okmuglee.

According to the FBI, Warren William “Thomas” Fultz vanished from his home in Okmulgee on September 29, 2021. Fultz’s remains were found in a wooded area in Boynton on October 16, 2021.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact the FBI’s Oklahoma City Field Office at 405-290-7770 or the Bureau of Indian Affairs at 1-833-560-2065.

Those who want to remain anonymous may also submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.

Their request for assistance is pretty vague, did anyone else find that odd? I wonder why the ATF and The Bureau of Indian Affairs are also involved? Did I miss something?

FBI - Seeking Information - Warren William "Thomas" Fultz

Often times with so many people's names, faces, and disappearance circumstances; it can all blur together. I wanted to humanize Thomas a bit by including some photos.

It sounds like he might have offered to help someone move something to another location, likely over state lines. I am not saying those decisions are good ones, but should be dealt with in court. If he has come to harm, I truly hope that the perpetrators of such harm are caught and held accountable to the full extent of the law.

Bumping for you Thomas <3

Could we move this to cold cases?

Murder victim’s family question if Christopher Harris is tied to unsolved murder
The case remains open and the FBI has since taken over with no person of interest in his murder. Channette said Harris was the last person her brother was with.

"They were trying to find money and trying to turn in scrap metals together. Chris said they were leaving and ran out of gas or something," [...]

Channette said her and Thomas grew up with Harris' family. [...] knowing Harris is arrested again she's hoping investigators will look into his connection with Thomas' murder.

"Since he was originally released and hanging out with Thomas, I never even knew he had gone to federal prison for eight years. And in the month timespan of him being home my little brother comes up deceased," she said.

"I stopped to ask him what happened to Thomas. He said, 'Man, what are you talking about?' I said when me and my mom were going around looking for Thomas I asked you and your mom then he stopped talking to me and I asked his mom and she blocked me on Facebook," she said.

Channette said if investigators would have pressed Harris harder before giving the case over to the FBI, an officer may have not been shot.

"I think if they had not put him on the street prior, the circumstances could be different or if he had the resources and support when he came home maybe he wouldn't be in a state of desperation," she said.

Channette is encouraging anyone with information to please call police. FOX23 reached out to the FBI to see if Harris will be considered a person of interest for Thomas' homicide now, FOZ23 did not hear back.
Hmm, all very interesting indeed.
