Honestly I think all of this is being focused on because the victim is Australian and this is causing an international stir with foreign journalists taking an interest in it.
If it had been an American guy killed like this? No big deal, likely a robbery attempt, back page story move along there is nothing to see here etc... Just like the Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom murders were a back page story for the American public at large.
I think so, too. But whatever it takes to get it out in the open I'm happy for. I think we're very close to a tipping point where if the issue continues to be taboo, there will be no room for discussion and possible solution within a very short time. I sense that people are getting mightily fed up. jmo
