Del City man arrested for second-degree murder and incest after fatal incident at local playground - KOKH
A Del City man is in jail after police say he beat his sister after having sex at a playground.

A night of drugs, drinking and incestuous sex, Del City police say, lands 27-year-old Cody Garde in jail for second-degree murder and incest.

"We don’t believe it was premeditated," Major Michael Arterbury said.

Cody and his 18-year-old sister were in a relationship for years, police say.

According to court documents, the two went to have sex at the Townsend Elementary School playground on Saturday and it because abusive.

Police say Cody admits to hitting and choking Heather.

The two went home and the next morning she was unresponsive.

Police say she was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Investigators say they're familiar with this family while responding to other calls.

What the heck is up with Oklahoma? My heart hurts. WS has seen some horrific stories out of there in the past year or so, including:

The McFadden mass murder (the thread you linked that starts with the victim name Ivy Webster), and subsequent LE shrug (leaving the victims’ belongings and electronics behind at the scene for the families to find, because … I don’t even remember what the excuse was) is definitely the worst case I’ve read about this year. I think it was so awful it actually caused less discussion than other crimes with such a high body count. I know the murderer is dead but he certainly left behind other victims, CSAM links, etc, to say nothing of the awful LE “response”.

Sorry, to put it another way I think sometimes these cases just leave people speechless. And here we have another one.

How long was this going on? He's 27, she was 18. Age of consent is 16 in Oklahoma, per Google. The report says it has been going on for "years". The violence would indicate that this was in no way a "relationship", let alone consensual. So maybe the media should stop calling it that. JMO.

Ugh, this is making me mad. Even if it was just 2 years, there is no way a 16 year old decides to hop into bed with her 25 year old brother of her own volition and desire. He must have been grooming, intimidating, and probably molesting her before that. This makes me think of Brittany Wood, wherever she is

I hope this monster faces way more charges as the investigation continues.

Heather Garde was taken by family members Sunday to Oklahoma Heart Hospital near SE 74 and Sooner Road, but by the time they arrived at the hospital, she was dead.

“She had really plain-to-see, observable trauma to her head, face, body ― bruising and all that,” said Maj. Mike Arterbury, with the Del City Police Department.

According to the affidavit, a family member also alleged Cody Garde was “very controlling” of Heather Garde, telling police that he insisted she wear certain clothes and makeup.

Cody Garde told police that they had sex at the park. Amid the encounter, he punched her multiple times in the stomach and in the face, telling police that Heather “liked to be hit” but claiming he did not know he was hurting her, the officer wrote in the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, Cody Garde said Heather Garde “probably had a brain injury” and carried her back home, where he put an ice pack on her face and then went to sleep.

By the time he woke up, his sister was dead, Cody Garde claimed.

I agree that this was likely not a consensual relationship. The relatives' report that talks about him controlling Heather, speaks volumes. She may have suffered tremendously in this house of horror. Why didn't any family member help? Where they afraid of Cody? Were they a part of the abuse?
