A Tulsa family is desperately seeking answers after 58-year-old Ishmel Evans has been missing for over a month.

*****
Ishmel Evans suffers from Wernicke–Korsakoff syndrome, a condition often associated with chronic alcohol use that mimics dementia.

*****
After several days of uncertainty regarding Ishmel's whereabouts, the family filed a missing persons report. They presented emergency guardianship paperwork to Grand Mental Health, only to learn he had been discharged the day after his admission.

That type of dementia can be surprisingly severe, even in the young. My fear is he might be drinking again which could only make the situation worse.

After an arrest on DV (assault) charges in 2021 (Case No. No. CM-2021-2990) he was to undergo alcohol assessment but he ended up with another charge for the same thing and was sentenced to 3 years in jail in 2022 with early release (balance of sentence suspended) if he completed treatment. (unknown if he did)
