So far that podcast is the only source I know of that mentions they were seen at a restaurant in Purcell.

rsbm

I was wondering about this too, y'all.
Does any one have information to help judge the reliability of the podcast? There is no day or time for the alleged Purcell sighting and I think that is odd. Since LE is looking for clues from the public, this seems like something that LE would share in order to generate information from the Purcell area.

I hope, though, that these things could mean that the investigation of the site where Jack was found had evidence that makes LE not need input from the public.

I agree. Not on TV. Not "on the street" or "at the barn" if you will. And I'm in the quarter horse world. And this is the time of year for all the big year-end shows. Seems really odd.

Off topic, but being in the quarter horse world, you may appreciate… My autistic daughter just won gold at the Equestrian Special Olympics for her division.

No. I’ve driven I-35 south to TX more times than I can count. To go to Purcell, you have to take a left exit to get on a state highway to reach Purcell. It is not one of the many little towns that is right off I-35.

ETA: State Hwy 77 goes through Purcell. This is how people used to go to Dallas/Ft Worth before I-35. It is west of I-35. It can still be used as an alternate route. Especially if there is a wreck or something else causing a back up.

You literally just hop off of 35 to go to Purcell. It's less than a mile. My brother-in-law lives there and we take 35 to get there. It's a half-mile between 35 and 77. I would consider Purcell on both roads.

We may have to agree to disagree. Using your image, the blue arrow points to the left hand exit off I-35 to get to Purcell. It’s something someone has to intentionally want to do. You don’t see “town” from I-35. If you’re simply passing through, it is not one of those exits that looks promising.

I guess so...to me it's on the highway as it's just a half-mile off.

The longer this plays out the weirder it seems. I highly doubt Glenda is alive. And although I thought Dwayne may be the culprit, the longer he's missing, the more I'm doubting my original conclusion. Unless he's some master hider, I'd think he would be found walking around by now if he were still alive...

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office served a second search warrant at the home of Jack Grimes.

Grimes disappeared in October 2021 with Dwayne Selby, Selby's mother Glenda Parton also disappeared.

Officials issued a Silver Alert and found the car the men were seen in at Mohawk Park, but they were not. Human remains found along the tree line near East 56th Street North and North Lewis Avenue in November were later identified as Grimes.

A spokesperson for the department says they are searching for any further evidence that could help them in the case.

Grimes’ remains were found in Turley in November, weeks after he was last seen in Tulsa. Grimes and his business partner, Dwayne Selby, were supposed to travel to Fort Worth in October for a horse show. The men never arrived.

Grimes’ car was later found near Mohawk Park.

Deputies are still searching for Selby and Selby’s mother, Glenda Parton, who has also been missing for month.

Interesting. You'd think they'd serve a search warrant for Dwayne Selby's properties too, considering there's no proof he is dead and he could potentially be on the run.

I think Dwayne lived with Jack, so he may not have property of his own.

The second search warrant is nagging at me. I am not very familiar with laws about search warrants so it may be due to my lack of knowledge on the subject. What puzzles me is that JG was the homeowner at the time of the murder and his roommate and roommate’s mother are still missing so why would they not have access to the home (maybe not considered a crime scene I guess)? Maybe they released the home to family but would they do that under these circumstances? Maybe they gained new information and a new search warrant had to reflect what they needed to go back to the home for? Am I close? It did appear that brown bags were taken by LE based on the previously linked news station video. It is my understanding that no one is living in the home but that is speculation based on local talk. I really hope they received new information and that an arrest or arrests will be coming soon. I also pray that DS and his mom are found soon. My opinion of the evil behind this tragedy is that it is someone who has helped around the ranch or someone who lives nearby. I think mom walked in on him or them.

I haven’t been very active on here lately so I was surprised when I did a quick check for Jack’s obituary and didn’t see it posted. Here it is and I have a question about it. He was found on October 31, 2021; however, his date of death is listed as October 29, 2021. Find a grave also has this same date of death. Why would that be his date of death? Why not when he first went missing or the date he was found? Any speculation?

Re: the warrant, I don’t know the specific circumstances here, but in general, non-owner residents still have Fourth Amendment (no unreasonable search and seizures) rights with respect to the place where they’re living, even though they’re not the owners. Depending on the situation with Jack’s estate, it could be that his heir(s) would also be found to have a “reasonable expectation of privacy” with respect to the house. Either way, IMO there would be very little incentive for the police to proceed without a warrant in a case like this - it would likely be an extremely easy warrant to obtain, and proceeding without one could end up torpedoing a future prosecution if the search resulted in significant evidence but was found to be unreasonable after the fact.

(Not sure if I need to include a source for a post like this? For avoidance of doubt, this is all speculation based on media reports; I don’t know anything about the actual legal circumstances at issue in this case.)
