Wait, so the two missing persons were in a dating relationship but the article is quoting his girlfriend?? Or am I reading that wrong?

Just pointing this out about Krystal's case:
<BBM>
This FB says it's "The first missing INDIGENOUS person case reported by the OSBI in Choctaw County since Governor Stitt passed a bill aimed at helping solve cases of missing and murdered (tribal) indigenous persons signed into law by Gov. Kevin Stitt on May 20, 2021."

It appears Krystal and Jared are still missing. I wonder where they were last seen and what they were doing at that time? Neither of them had a vehicle, so did they get a ride with someone or were they on foot when last seen? It's been 3 months. Surely someone would have seen at least one of them by now, right? I wish OSBI would give an update on this case and explain what exactly makes their disappearance "suspicious".

Is there anyone who knows what they were wearing the last time they were seen? Any items like purse, backpack, hat, etc? If they were traveling on foot around the area, was it possible they were camped out somewhere like an RV park or motel? I can’t seem to find any details like that from OBSI so I wanted to check. Seems odd to put out a call for the public’s help with so few details.

According to the NamUs entry, Lennox has a backpack and an iPhone.

The phrasing of "non tribal member" and "tribal member" - is there any particular reason to distinguish MP's like that? Would they fall under different jurisdictions?

Surely not. In terms of crime, the law is the law, no?

Landmark Supreme Court Ruling Affirms Native American Rights in Oklahoma (Published 2020)

Last year the Supreme Court ruled that much of eastern Oklahoma is under Native American/Indian reservation jurisdiction. To quote a specific part:

The court’s decision means that Indigenous people who commit crimes on the eastern Oklahoma reservation, which includes much of Tulsa, cannot be prosecuted by state or local law enforcement, and must instead face justice in tribal or federal courts.

Obviously I'm jumping the gun by quite a bit (these two could be found safe/sound, so far nothing to suggest any kind of crime has taken place). But I think it's fair to mention that things could be different/unexpected from what we know or typically think. Could actions by state or local LE be affected, like getting search warrants or permission to search?

I think it's primarily used as a way to identify cases that may qualify for specific resources and also for data tracking. The information at the links below provide a better explanation. MOO

How NIJ and its NamUs Program Support Tribal Law Enforcement and Communities
NamUs is working to close data gaps related to missing indigenous persons, and to ensure that every tribal law enforcement agency knows about and can use the NamUs program to help resolve cases. The NamUs 2.0 database (accessible from namus.nij.ojp.gov) allows tribes to collect better data on their missing persons, and provides a tool for sharing and comparing case information across jurisdictional boundaries.

Justice Department Boosts Efforts to Solve American Indian and Alaska Native Missing Person and Unidentified Remains Cases
November 24, 2021
SBM
WASHINGTON – The Department of Justice today announced a commitment of $800,000 to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, or NamUs, specifically to increase the program’s capacity to provide outreach, investigative support and forensic services to cases involving American Indians and Alaska Natives.

Snip

NamUs employs regional program specialists nationwide, who provide training, technical assistance and support to individuals with missing, unidentified and unclaimed person cases. Since 2017, NamUs staff have provided training and outreach to American Indian and Alaska Native communities through more than 50 events and webinars. To encourage tribal law enforcement participation, the NamUs system is pre-loaded with information on more than 300 federally-recognized tribal law enforcement agencies so officers can quickly access cases and share information. To further the efforts of the program specialists and support their interactions with victims and families, OJP’s Office for Victims of Crime is developing trauma-informed resources for NamUs personnel. OVC’s resources can also support families of crime victims who are recovered through NamUs.

Nothing. Nothing at all which seems so odd to me. This isn't the typical MP case considering it involves TWO missing people. Why hasn't there been more LE alerts and updates? I'd love to know the direction LE has taken in their investigation. The public often has helpful information (CCTV, dashcams, credible hearsay, eyewitnesses etc.) but they're not always aware the info is important until they're asked for info from LE. It's been six months...why isn't OSBI asking? o_O

It's heartbreaking that there doesn't seem to be much happening.
