Yes, the ankle monitor was removed a while back. He wasn't wearing it when I saw him in November.

Remind me to move to Oklahoma if I ever plan on being charged with murder of not one, but two people (which won't happen..LOL). Sounds wonderful to walk around as a free man with no monitoring, playing golf, etc. Jeeze.

I asked a good friend of mine who spent several years practicing criminal law in OKC if this meant they had a weak case against him. He told me a lot of times its actually the defense that has it postponed. He said that is the job of a good criminal defense attorney. Maybe it is jot completely that OKCPD has their head up their butt however I will not hold my breath.

the way I hear it for him its always the d.a. asking for longer and him just wanting longer reason to be free and not have to get a job. I find the whole thing worrysome. not enough to prove he did and not enough to prove he didn't.
I've already ticked him off and I don't trust him.

Maybe I'm crazy, but if I was going to stab someone I would wear work gloves to prevent cutting myself.

I'm not real comfortable with the argument that a person must be innocent because they don't have cuts on their hands.

Maybe they just thought far enough ahead to wear gloves so they didn't get caught. :twocents:

I bet they are going to drop it down to manslaughter or something...

"The investigation of the death of Jaymie Adams is continuing.
At our request, the Oklahoma City Police Department has pursued additional evidence.
We continue to allege that Justin Adams has culpability in the death of his wife.
Charges will be amended to reflect the level of his suspected culpability," Prater said in an email to KOCO.

Murder charges against Justin Adams have been reduced to manslaughter.

Adams is due back in court Wednesday morning for a preliminary hearing.

From that article --

Authorities have arrested another man in connection with the murder of pregnant Blanchard mother, Jaymie Adams. Joseph Cyr was arrested on a complaint of first-degree murder Tuesday night.

According to court documents released on Tuesday, the DNA sample taken from Cyr matched the DNA sample found inside Jaymie Adams' body.

Interesting turn.

ETA: What about that autopsy that reported no sperm? Something else?

This IS an interesting turn. How can Adams be culpable for manslaughter but not murder, and this Cyr guy is now arrested for first degree murder.

Adams did it or he didn't. I don't understand a reduction in charges yet still charging him, while charging another man with first degree.

We'll see I guess.

they're charging him for prostituting his wife that led to her death. maybe not a murderer but a douche none the less.

According to court documents, Justin Adams posted on Craigslist, under the subject line "come help us," - "I am letting any willing man come and have his way with my wife with a little compensation for us to help with our holiday funding we need."

It's one of several ads soliciting sex and prostitution from multiple email addresses - which belonged to Jaymie and Justin Adams.

Court documents now reveal DNA samples taken from Cyr matched the DNA found inside Jaymie's body. Investigators believe the two had sex.

Court records also show investigators have cell phone data showing Cyr was in the same area as Jaymie Adams the night of her disappearance.

Earlier reports that Justin's cell phone was also in the area proved to be inaccurate.

Back in February, 2012, authorities obtained cell phone records, and determined that Jaymie's cell phone and Justin's cell phone hit the same cell phone tower at different places in the metro, which indicates that Justin was either with Jaymie, or was following her the night of her disappearance.

However, according to court documents, investigators say the cell phone data previously obtained was incorrect. The records which showed Jaymie and Justin's phones together or in close proximity to one another were not accurate.

Investigators took a DNA sample of Joseph Cyr, who'd refused to cooperate after Jaymie Adams' disappearance. Cyr moved out of Oklahoma City shortly after the killing in December. Police say he contacted Adams in response to a Craigslist ad for sex shortly before she disappeared.

According to court documents released on Tuesday, the DNA sample taken from Cyr matched the DNA sample found inside Jaymie Adams' body.

I just read the autopsy report. What a horribly violent death.

It looks like no sperm was seen on the vaginal, oral, and rectal swabs at the time of her autopsy. It must have been when they were tested, that they came back showing Cyr's semen and therefore his DNA.

It's so scary that someone can be falsely arrested, charged with murder, and incarcerated, even with the forensics (DNA and cell phone) that we have today. This is something I really have to think about. It changes my perspective.

I'm even sadder that Jaymie was pregnant when she was murdered. :(

I really wish she and her husband hadn't engaged in prostitution, especially on Craigslist. So terribly dangerous, and this case is one of several that shows exactly why.

:twocents:

Rest in peace, Jaymie.
