I figured something in VA was going on like that because it seems like they are the only state that shows up on alot of missing persons NamUs ruleouts

This young male was found in the woods next to in Maryland close to an interstate highway in 1985. Similar estimated age, height, and weight to Lee Davis. The timeframe fits.
The jewelery as described sounds like it may be turquoise. That's not much to go on, but it could be a connection to Native culture.

I can't seem to find his birth record in My Heritage or in Family Search under his name and date of birth. Could he have been adopted and carried his adoptive parents's name? Davis is a surname you can find f.i. in the Cherokee Nation (him being Native American/Caucasian), but it's a well spread name and also without Native American affiliation. Or is it possible the tribes have/had there own separate registration system? Does someone know this?

A tiny bit more information.

Sometime in December of 1984 16-year-old Lee Davis was seen by family in Tulsa Oklahoma. He was supposed to be en route to Oklahoma City but was never seen again. He was then reported missing in 1985. Lee is a biracial male being Native American and Caucasian. He's 5'4" to 5'7" and 130 lbs. He has brown hair and green eyes. He has spiral fractures of his right distal tibia and fibula. Does that mean he didn't fracture his spine but instead his leg? And was he still in plaster or did he have healed fractures?

Being from Oklahoma originally, I have taken the route from Tulsa to OKC many times. You can either do I-44 which in South Tulsa to Sapulpa, Bristow, Kellyville ect. Or you can do the lesser known route which is highway 412 to highway 33. This highway does go to OKC but its the northern part of OKC. Back in those days, he would have had both routes available to him.

In this case, I am not sure where exactly the search needs to be done at. As with some of these missing persons cases, the wording is so vague when it comes to the circumstances behind the disappearance. I think its possible that he never left Tulsa. Just because of where he was last seen. Maybe he was planning to go to OKC and something happened before he left or perhaps he made it to OKC and something happened shortly after he arrived there.
