I wonder what they were serving papers to/on him for? If it was to be a witness or something it could have something to do with this. Praying he is located safe.

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Okla. -

A horror scene was uncovered inside a home belonging to a missing Pottawatomie County man.

According to court filings in September, investigators went to Lloyd McLaughlin's home where they discovered a large amount of blood throughout the home. Shortly after, McLaughlin was declared missing.

“We, in conjunction with the evidence, the condition of the home, and collaboration with Miss McLaughlin, determined that Lloyd was nowhere to be found,” said Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Hawkins.

In a search warrant, a Pottawatomie County deputy said she went to McLaughlin’s house to serve him with a protective order filed by his wife.

“There was some threat supposedly about shooting a firearm,” said Hawkins.

The deputy said when she found the door ajar, she went inside the house after fearing it had been burglarized.

While McLaughlin, 44, was nowhere to be found the deputy "observed copious amounts of blood."
Other investigators found "blood spatter and blood smears," "bloody footprints" throughout the house, and "several kitchen and carving knives saturated with dried blood."

Investigators said McLaughlin's wife, while estranged, was extremely cooperative.

“I think she’s pretty upset that he’s nowhere to be found. She stated she wants to know he’s okay, despite anything that has happened in their personal relationship,” said Hawkins.

Investigators said McLaughlin has no criminal record and was working at the Walmart in Shawnee when he suddenly stopped coming to work in August.

His absence concerned his colleagues.

“They all speak very highly of him. I haven’t had one yet that has said anything negative about Lloyd as a person,” said Hawkins.

McLaughlin's vehicle, a 2007 silver Honda Odyssey is also missing. If you know anything about the case contact 405 273-1727.

A thorough description of McLaughlin, to include unique identifiers, can be found by visiting The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.

Cases like this are shocking in today's day and age because of CCTV, dashcam. Its hard to believe nothing has been captured on footage. Police were at his home in September and now its mid October. Was this perp that careful? Perhaps LE does have info on who may have carried this out but aren't sharing. I can see why if that's the reason. It seems very violent.

I'm confused. In the above article, it states
"We don't know that there's any foul play involved at this time," explained Undersheriff Dinwiddie.

Did they miss the part where they said the guy's house looked like a horror scene and had blood all over?

Wonder if the wife was related to the undersheriff

I don't remember the case now but I believe it was in the late sixties a woman went missing from her home, the door was unlocked and her kitchen was bloodied. Yet authorities of the time said it was her own doing. Its a famous case I wish I could remember her name now. Reminds me of that case. But ya I agree with you. Hopefully they conducted a forensics investigation at the home as wasn't available at the time the woman went missing all those years ago. I would suspect OBI would conduct that sort of investigation, however.

Could very well be self injury. Small cuts can make a lot of blood.

Yes this is the one. Thanks. Good grief. And that was in 1961 this is 2022. Both are similar minus the children in the home.

IMO
I hope if I don't show up to work that they call police or at least emergency contact person (possibly wife?).
Very sad
Hard to imagine driving 70 minutes with all those injuries.

I know so strange. He had the presence of mind to actually drive in that state 70 minutes? Does it make sense? I mean he was losing blood. IMO something is very off.

If someone has lost that much blood that it looks like a bloodbath in the home and is loosing more blood as they continue and then drive 70 minutes while continuing to lose blood then oxygen would also be depleted. So strange, I have to say. If he was bleeding that much and he got into his vehicle wouldn't someone have seen the blood on him while he is driving? I mean wouldn't it show on his clothes on his face in the vehicle. I'm surprised it wasn't caught on video, I'm surprised someone didn't see him in his driveway bleeding, in his vehicle. I guess it must be rural to the point no one saw him with blood, driving on the raod? So odd.
