The Oklahoma City Police Department said officers are actively searching for London Kerr, who is believed to be endangered following the arrest of the child's primary caregivers, Ashley Rowland, 39, and Joshua Denton, 40. The two people were arrested on complaints related to child physical abuse and child sexual abuse.

In November 2024, KOCO 5 reported that Kerr was missing, and she was last seen when she was 2 years old. Rowland, who is her mother, allegedly gave the child to a man named "Carlos" who was selling Rowland methamphetamine.

News 4 first reported that Ashley Rowland was previously arrested in 2024, and according to court documents, she had told Moore Police that she gave her daughter, London Kerr, who was 2 years old at the time, to a man named Carlos. Rowland bonded out of jail just several days after being arrested.

Court documents also provided details that Rowland and Denton were in a relationship and that Denton had been accused of abusing London in the past, which included pouring hot sauce into her eyes and shooting her with a BB gun.

Ashley Ceejay Rowland, 39, London's mother; and Joshua Paul Denton, 40, Rowland's boyfriend; were arrested Tuesday, Aug. 5, and booked into the Cleveland County jail on multiple complaints, records show.

Denton faces nine felony charges, including six felony counts of child abuse, one count of forcible sodomy, one count of lewd or indecent acts to a child, and one count of a pattern of criminal offenses.

Rowland has been charged with one count of enabling child abuse. She had previously faced charges of abandonment of a child in Oklahoma County District Court last year.

Online court records did not list attorneys for Rowland or Denton. As of Aug. 7, jail records showed Denton was being held on a total bond amount of at least $504,500, and Rowland was being held on a $300,000 bond.

The documents also show Rowland and Denton, her boyfriend, each had other kids who told police they endured multiple instances of abuse themselves. They also allegedly witnessed abuse against London.

The court documents say a 15-year-old saw Denton hit London with a wooden paddle and shoot a BB gun at her.

That same teenager told police he was duct-taped to a chair and hit with a belt. The documents say Denton “threatened to kill him if he told police, and additionally threatened to make him disappear.”

Other kids were interviewed by police in March 2025, including an 8-year-old who said she also witnessed physical abuse on London. Investigators believe the 8-year-old was sexually abused by Denton

Details of Disappearance​

London was last seen at an apartment complex in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on October 22, 2022. She has never been heard from again. Authorities did not realize she was missing until 2024.

In October 2024, workers for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) went to a residence in the 1300 block of Regency Boulevard in Moore, Oklahoma in order to take London into their care, but she wasn't there. Her mother, Ashley Ceejay Rowland, told DHS workers and the police that London was with her father in Georgia, which was later determined to be untrue. Neighbors said they hadn't seen London in years.

When interviewed a second time the next day, Rowland and her boyfriend, Joshua Paul Denton, both claimed she'd given London to a man named "Carlos", a man she had previously bought methamphetamines from and who may have been London's father, and that Carlos told her he was going back to Mexico. Rowland was arrested for child abandonment, but bonded out of jail.

Authorities learned that Rowland had older children, age 15 and 16. After Rowland's arrest, investigators interviewed the teenagers and one of them said both Denton was abusive to both of them and to London and that Rowland knew about it and failed to stop him. When Rowland was questioned about this she denied any knowledge of abuse, but admitted she'd lied about Carlos. Authorities have been unable to verify whether or not Carlos actually exists.

One of Rowland's teenage children alleged that Denton had hit London with a wooden paddle, shot a BB gun at her and the other children, and duct-taped the 15-year-old to a chair and beat him with a belt. Denton's two children, age 8 and 10, also said he was abusive to them and to London, and told about times when he had poured hot sauce in London's eyes and had locked her in a closet. Denton's daughter also stated her father had sexually abused her.

As a result of the children's statements, Denton was arrested for six counts of child abuse, one count of forcible sodomy, one count of lewd or indecent acts to a child, and one count of a pattern of criminal offenses, and Rowland was charged with engaging in a pattern of criminal offenses and two counts of enabling child abuse. Where have these kids been? I wonder why additional endangered kids were never mentioned when Rowand was originally arrested? I'm sure this investigation has alot of moving parts and is far far from over.
