On April 1, 1994, 32-year-old Nola Baldwin left her residence in Collinsville, OK to go get pizza for her children from a pizzeria in Collinsville. She was never heard from again after leaving her residence. On April 22, 1994, Ms. Baldwin’s vehicle, a 1992 Red Dodge Spirit, was located submerged in a pond at 12600 N. Harvard in North Tulsa County. Ms. Baldwin’s deceased body was found inside the car after being pulled from the pond. The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide

Crazy. I grew up in Collinsville and still live here and have never heard of this case.

It is crazy the scant coverage her case received both when she went missing and subsequently after her body was tragically found in a pond weeks later. I can google no more than three or four news articles. Its such an awful murder especially since she was a mom going on a pizza run, picked up the pizza, and never came home.

There was a suspect/POI early on based on a Tulsa World article from Apr 15, 1994 but obviously was cleared or not charged.

Louisiana officials were preparing Thursday to extradite a man to Oklahoma who is a suspect in the April 1 disappearance of a Collinsville woman, a New Orleans FBI agent said. Gerald Floyd Burns, 36, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Louis Moore Jr. on Thursday in Louisiana Eastern District Court, said FBI Special Agent John Rook. Burns waived detention and extradition hearings, Rook said. "He should be on his way back to Oklahoma soon," Rook said. Burns, whom Rook described as a transient from Louisiana and southern Mississippi, was arrested Wednesday at a Louisiana state park on a complaint of interstate transportation of a stolen motor vehicle. He had been hitchhiking, Rook said.
Burns has a "lengthy criminal record," Rook said. His
record could not be obtained Thursday. Authorities linked Burns to a stolen car found in a parking lot near where Nola Jean Baldwin, 32, was last reported
seen alive, said Tulsa County Sheriff's Sgt. Bill Bass.
He would not say what the connection was. Bass said investigators recovered "all kinds of things" from the car, but they have not tied them to Baldwin's disappearance. Investigators think that Baldwin and Burns did not know each other, Bass said. Baldwin picked up a pizza at a Collinsville restaurant between
6 and 7 p.m. and did not return home. FBI agents and deputies have not located Baldwin's car, a 1992 red Dodge Spirit. The car, a four-door, sports
Oklahoma license tag INV-966.

@barefootpoet Where did you get the material for your post? I've researched Tulsa World and did not see the FBI information, nor the car tag.

Any idea to which body of water car the was found in? It says it wasn't visible, but in the satellite images there area a few in the area. I count about 5 small ponds, but 1 is definitely visible and two others are down a short road but definitely visible from that road.

I just used Google/Bing search for any articles online. There possibly could have been more published but those are all I could find. I'm sure there was stories in the Collinsville Chronicle at the time of her death but the online search doesn't seem to go back that far.

Here's a YouTube episode from a local unsolved crime series. The first segment profiles her case and shows the pond location via google maps

Thank you for starting a thread for Ms. Baldwin's case. Considering her remains have been located but her murder remains unsolved, I will move this thread to the 'Cold Cases' forum. 'Missing but not forgotten Discussion' threads are reserved for cases where the subject has not been located. I've also included the link to the write up you copied over from TCSO's webpage.

Oklahoma's Cold Case Files: Nola Baldwin

By: Sharon Phillips Feb 27, 2025
''Despite limited evidence in this case, the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office wants to bring it back to the forefront of people’s minds in hopes that someone may know something that might bring Baldwin’s family some closure.

“Thirty years goes by, and it can both work against you, and it can also work in your favor. It’s a negative in the fact that 3 decades have past potential witnesses may have past but at the same time, when we have divorces happened and when marriages break up and people pass away, we also have witnesses that might actually be willing to come forward and offer more information in this case,” said Roebuck.

If you have any information about the death of Nola Baldwin, you are asked to contact the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office.''
