Oklahoma Court Docket shows a hearing is scheduled for Tommy Braden on Wed, June 20, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. This hearing could possibly be to set a trial date as the docket shows arraignment and a plea of not guilty took place on 4/24/2012.
<snipped by me>COURT AWAITS DNA RESULTS
Thursday, June 21, 2012 3:04 PM CDT
Wednesday afternoon, a Muskogee man accused of felony child sexual abuse was allowed a continuance in his case in Creek County District Court to allow for DNA testing results to be returned from the state forensics lab in Edmond.
Tommy Lee Braden, 24, plead not guilty following his April 10 arrest on complaints he allegedly abused a 4-year-old Creek County girl on April 6.
The case has some issues related to DNA testing, Assistant District Attorney Laura Farris said to the court. It would best serve the court and justice for the victim to wait for the DNA test results.
Farris told the court she made several calls to the state lab with no success.
State officials said it usually takes about 60 days for DNA testing to be completed and staff to submit their reports.
Henderson and the attorneys rescheduled the next hearing for the afternoon of Wednesday, July 18.
Also joining him at his court appearance were several friends and family members. He nodded to them as they waved and wished him well as they left the court room Thursday.

Wow, the DNA info is definitely weird. It may be standard to wait 60 days for DNA but I would think in a case like this, especially since they've arrested someone, that they would have rushed it through the system. It sounds to me like there was some sort of problem either with the match or the sample itself and they are retesting maybe?
Whatever it is, I hope they didn't jump to conclusions and arrest this guy without some kind of solid evidence.

I also hope they didn't prematurely arrest Braden ... It just doesn't seem the D.A.'s office would make that kind of mistake. And, to add to the confusion, read what the court docket shows after updating last night!!

Hmmm...Southernnana, do you take that to mean they are waiting for Braden's drug and alcohol tests or maybe tests from the victim?
I don't think I've seen that before. Blood alcohol levels can be checked very quickly, toxicology would probably take longer but 2 months? In a case like this? What is with all of these delays?
Is it possible that somehow the first sample or test was contaminated and had to be retested? Drug and alcohol really shouldn't take that long....
